  • The purpose of this study is analyze the impact on users' cognition of design concept, satisfaction of design concept, adapted park space, and effect of design concepts on park use satisfaction. The study sites are Central Mountain Park and Lake Park in Gwanggyo New Town, Suwon. We analyzed importance-satisfaction of park facilities in the park and preference-satisfaction of park. The results of this study are as follows. First, generally users visit the park as a family unit. Second, trails got high scores in importance-satisfaction of park facilities. Third, park users' satisfaction received a high score generally, but it doesn't show statistic significance with users' cognition of design concept. Fourth, cognition of the two parks' design concept and design strategy got a high score - over three points on average - based on the 5 - point Likert scale. However, upon analysis of users' cognition of design concept and satisfaction of design concept adapted park space, there is no statistic significance. Therefore, we noticed that the park's design concept had an effect on park users' satisfaction; rather, personal preference and satisfaction of users had more impact on satisfaction. On the other hand, this study was limited in that we didn't survey across all four seasons and had few target areas. But it has some significance in that we used a visual documentation, attaching existing photos including design concept, to increase users' understanding. Also, we directly asked about the parks' user design concept and strategy.

  • This paper introduces the improved and expanded contents of the previous research that implemented a system that guides the visually impaired using the vibration of a smart watch. In the previous study, we proposed an algorithm that recommends the most safe route based on calculating negative and positive values for the topography of the route and the features installed on the route. In addition, by designing several vibration patterns, a system that guides the user through vibration was proposed and implemented. In this paper, the user's personal preferences are reflected in the algorithm that recommends the safe route first. In addition, an automatic feedback function was added to the algorithm so that the user's satisfaction evaluation on the recommended route was immediately reflected. A history simulation function was added so that the past route could be reviewed, and the compass of a smart watch was used to help visually impaired people find directions at junctions.

  • This research extracted emotional words for measuring user's emotions expressed while using a cellular phone and a web. And then the emotional words were compared to find out whether the difference in emotional words by the type of products. The results of this study suggest that the hardware-oriented products used for specific purpose such as cellular phone extracted a lot of emotional words related to 'Satisfaction in Usability' and 'Pleasure'. 'Satisfaction in Usability' are conceived satisfying in usability or practicality of product. 'Pleasure' are pleasant emotions expressed while using a product. However the emotional words related to 'Aesthetics' and 'Novelty' were omitted. 'Aesthetics' are expressed by product's appearance and by various visual information while using a product. 'Novelty' are expressed by something that is novel and new that has never been experienced. On the other hand the software-oriented products used rather to find something better and new information than to perform specific tasks such as web extracted a lot of emotional words related to 'Novelty'. Therefore, the results of this research have found evidence that it is desirable to make a set of subjective evaluation scale by the type of products. When making the subjective evaluation scale, it is important to use appropriate emotional words for the purpose of use and the characteristics of those products.

Therefore, a variety of business models have emerged. On the other hand, there is no company that can generate revenue. Many enterprises are still maintained while they are changing only their appearance of the business model. Business model is important in e-commerce. However, a lot of researches are targeted only in Web sites. Thus, e-commerce companies do not have the infrastructure for measuring and business models. The purpose of paper is to evaluate factors which are related with the structuring of the e-commerce success. And it proposed a financial items and non-financial items. From the perspectives of administrators and managers, the paper researches the possibility for E-Commerce Evaluation Model as a valuable criteria in measuring business model. Research design, data and methodology - The methods are taken by the classification for the type of business-to-business transactions, transactions subject, and the degree of integration and innovation capabilities. Financial and Non-financial value is used to build E-Commerce Evaluation Model. Evaluation items in Administration's perspective are composed with enhance the effectiveness of the mission, improving efficiency of the administration, and control of costs. Evaluation items in the customer's perspective were measured by customer participation and cooperation with customer Satisfaction. In the case of researching the information system's perspective, three criteria are used such as adequacy of the development process, improvement of the quality of service, and maintenance of standardized information technology. In researching for the ICT competence's perspective, evaluation items were composed of enhanced user capabilities, utilizing new technologies, and empowerment of information workers. Results - In this paper, E-Commerce Evaluation Model with financial and non-financial perspectives shows the possibility to be criteria in the case of measuring business model. Moreover, it gives the positive expectation to be successful criteria. But the research may have ambiguity in its essential concept because it cannot avoid the limitation in selecting evaluation tools from merely the model. It is impossible to exclude the possibility in omitting specific properties which may take place in actual case study. Therefore, In hereafter research, it is necessary to include actual case study research in selecting evaluation tools in order to improve the limit point. Actual measurement items which are derived from actual case study should be subdivided, and it would be more effective to complete the research. Conclusions - In rapid change in business models, there are various kinds of business models. But it is general situation that companies which adopted business models have not brought in revenue. For this reason, E-Commerce Evaluation Model is needed as an important factor for the structuring of the e-commerce success. Although it has the limitation in selecting evaluation tools from model, E-Commerce Evaluation Model proposes the implication for measuring business models as a valuable criteria.

  • It is necessary to understand and apply the concept of Quality of Service(QoS) for the objective selection among the computer network equipment. Because ITU-T E.800 recommendation covers the service quality of provider's viewpoint and the satisfaction of user, it can be used to evaluate and select the product of computer network systems. This paper is concerned with the development of an evaluation model using QoS and software tool for selection of the most suitable LAN switch. We apply the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method of Saaty which has been in a multiple criteria framework for an effective group decision process to the selection of LAN switch. The sample data are collected and processed from a questionnaire of professionals in the network field. And we implement a prototype tool for the selection of LAN switch according to the suggested selection model and analyse the result. The result of our research is expected to be a useful tool for decision making to evaluate and select the LAN switch and also can be applied to the decision making of evaluation and selection related to the product of computer network with QoS.

  • As a service-oriented paradigm, web service composition has obtained great attention from both academia and industry, especially in the area of cloud service. Nowadays more and more web services providing the same function but different in QoS are available in cloud, so an important mission of service composition strategy is to select the optimal composition solution according to QoS. Furthermore, the selected composition solution should satisfy the service level agreement (SLA) which defines users' request for the performance of composite service, such as price and response time. A composite service is feasible only if its QoS satisfies user's request. In order to obtain composite service with the optimal QoS and avoid SLA violations simultaneously, in this paper we first propose a QoS evaluation method which takes the SLA satisfaction into account. Then we design a service selection algorithm based on our QoS evaluation method. At last, we put forward a parallel running strategy for the proposed selection algorithm. The simulation results show that our approach outperforms existing approaches in terms of solutions' optimality and feasibility. Through our running strategy, the computation time can be reduced to a large extent.

  • With the development of digital technologies, CAID became an essential part in the industrial design process. Creating photo-realistic images from a virtual scene with 3D models is one of the specialized task for CAID users. This task requires a complex interface of setting the positions and the parameters of camera and lights for optimal rendering results. However, the user interface of existing CAID tools are not simple for designers because the task is mostly accomplished in a parameter setting dialogue window. This research address this interface issues, in particular the issues related to lighting, by developing and evaluating TLS(Tangible Lighting Studio) that uses Augmented Reality and Tangible User Interface. The interface of positioning objects and setting parameters become tangible and distributed in the workspace to support more intuitive rendering task. TLS consists of markers, and physical controller, and a see-through HMD(Head Mounted Display). The user can directly control the lighting parameters in the AR workspace. In the evaluation experiment, TLS provide higher effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction compared to existing GUI(Graphic User Interface) method. It is expected that the application of TLS can be expanded to photography education and architecture simulation.

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to find the optimal values of sliding factors which influence the mechanical emotion of users when they use sliding type mobile phones. Background: There are various researches that study the emotion of using mobile phones. They focus the correlation between emotion words and design factors and use the commercial products by the subjects in the experiment. However, it has a limit in finding the optimal point of emotional factors because we can search the restricted values in the mass production of the products. Therefore, we will find the optimal points by realizing the full range of the user's mechanical emotion. Method: First, we need to get the detailed factors which can describe the mechanical emotion in sliding up and down the mobile phone. Next, we find the control factors by considering the correlation between the factors of the sliding emotion and the possibility of quantitative design. To find the optimal points on the control factors, we make a sliding evaluation system which can help users feel the sliding mechanical emotion by realizing control factors. Finally, we find the optimal points by doing the experiment the system being used. Results: The critical values of the factors which are the main variables of this study are Open Max Force and Dead point Ratio. The optimal point of the Open Max Force is 200~250g/f, and the Dead point Ratio is 40~50%. Conclusion: In this study we develop the sliding evaluation system to realize the control factors of the sliding type phone and find the optimal values of the critical factors. Application: The results can be used as the criteria for designing sliding type phone.
