간호대학생과 간호사의 신종 감염병에 대한 인식 및 실천, 윤리인식이 윤리적 의사결정에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Nursing Students and Nurses' Awareness and Practice of Emerging Infectious Diseases, and Ethical Awareness on Ethical Decision-making)

  • 본 연구는 간호사와 간호대학생의 신종 감염병에 대한 인식 및 실천, 윤리인식, 윤리적 의사결정 차이와 윤리적 의사결정에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구 대상은 K시의 간호대학생과 간호사 179명이며 자료는 2020년 8월 20일부터 9월 10일까지 수집되었다. 연구결과, 윤리적 의사결정 중 정의원칙과 관련된 의사결정에서만 간호대학생과 간호사 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었으며 윤리적 의사결정에 윤리교육 경험(𝛽=0.18, p=.013)이 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 윤리적 의사결정 향상을 위한 시뮬레이션 중심의 융합적 윤리교육 프로그램을 개발하여 주기적으로 교육할 것을 제안한다.

  • 본 연구는 코로나-19로 인한 신종감염병 대유행 상황에서 간호대학생의 신종감염병에 대한 인식과 윤리 인식, 윤리적 의사결정 수준을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 H읍과 Y시의 간호대학생 3, 4학년 194명이며 2020년 5월 1일부터 6월 20일까지 자료를 수집, SPSS 24.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 연구대상자의 신종감염병에 대한 인식은 보통수준이며 윤리 인식과 윤리적 의사결정은 높은 수준이었다. 본인이나 가족의 신종감염병 감염경험이 있는 대상자가 그렇지 않은 대상자보다 윤리 인식과 윤리적 의사결정 수준이 더 높았다. 신종감염병에 대한 인식은 신종감염병 관련 윤리 인식(r=.291, p<.001), 윤리적 의사결정(r=.143, p=.046)과 양의 상관이 있고, 감염병 관련 윤리 인식은 윤리적 의사결정과 양의 상관(r=.274, p<.001)이 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 감염병 대유행 시 간호대학생들의 올바른 윤리적 의사결정을 돕기 위한 교육 프로그램 개발을 제안한다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between nursing students' biomedical and artificial intelligence (AI) ethical awareness, ethical values, professional self-concept, and ethical decision-making confidence, and to then identify factors that can influence their ethical decision-making confidence. Methods: This study employed a descriptive research method and was conducted from June 8 to 12, 2023, with 204 students from three nursing colleges in Korea. The collected data were analyzed by frequency and percentage, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using IBM SPSS 23.0. Results: The results of the multiple regression analysis showed that the regression model was significant (F=18.88, p<.001) and that professional self-concept (β=.46, p<.001), ethics education (β=.23, p<.001), AI ethical awareness (β=.16, p=.020), and relativistic ethical values (β=.14, p=.035) explained 34.6% of the nursing students' ethical decision-making confidence. Conclusion: It is necessary to include professional self-concept, AI ethical awareness, and ethical values contents when constructing the curriculums of educational programs in order to improve nursing students' ethical decision-making confidence.

  • This study was conducted to study on 1) What is nursing students' experience of ethical problems involving nursing practice\ulcorner 2) What is nursing students' experience of using ethical decision-making models\ulcorner Method: In order to answer these two questions, we selected 97 senior baccalaureate nursing students from two Korean universities using a conceptual framework and method of content analysis. Result: From 97 ethical problems emerged five content categories, the largest being ethical problems involving health professionals (69%); the basic nature of the nursing students' experience of ethical problems consisted of conflict, resolution, and rationale; 94% of the students stated that using an ethical decision- making model was helpful. Conclusion: Although additional research is needed, these findings have important implications for nursing ethics education and practice.

요양병원간호사의 도덕적 민감성과 자기주장성이 윤리적 의사결정 자신감에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Moral Sensitivity and Self-Assertiveness on Ethical Decision-Making Confidence of Nurses Working in Long Term Care Hospitals)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 요양병원 간호사의 도덕적 민감성, 자기주장성, 윤리적 의사결정 자신감의 정도, 상관관계, 윤리적 의사결정 자신감에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 G도에 소재한 6개의 요양병원에 근무하는 간호사 149명으로, 자료수집은 2019년 11월 30일부터 12월 18일까지 시행하였으며 SPSS win 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation 및 Multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 대상자의 도덕적 민감성 정도는 평균 4.94점, 자기주장성 정도는 평균 3.17점, 윤리적 의사결정 자신감 정도는 평균 3.49점이었다. 일반적 특성에 따른 자기주장성 정도는 도덕적 고뇌 경험 유무에서 유의한 차이를 보였고, 윤리적 의사결정 자신감 정도에서는 직위와 윤리적 교육 경험 유무에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 윤리적 의사결정 자신감은 도덕적 민감성(r=.382, p<.001)과 자기주장성(r=.224, p<.01)과 유의한 정적 상관이 있었다. 요양병원 간호사의 윤리적 의사 결정 자신감에 영향을 주는 변인은 도덕적 민감성과 윤리적 교육 경험 여부, 자기주장성임을 확인하였고, 윤리적 의사결정 자신감에 대한 이들 변인의 설명력은 25.0%였다. 따라서 요양병원 간호사의 윤리적 의사결정 자신감을 향상하기 위해서는 윤리적 교육을 통한 도덕적 민감성과 자기주장성을 함께 향상할 수 있는 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

간호대학생의 윤리적 의사결정에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Ethical decision-making of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The aim of this descriptive research study was to identify the factors affecting the ethical decision-making of nursing students. Methods: A convenience sample of 193 nursing students from three nursing colleges in D city who were engaged in clinical practice completed an online Google Forms questionnaire from September 9 to September 20, 2021. Using SPSS 23.0, data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, a one-way ANOVA, Scheffé's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a multiple regression analysis. Results: The influencing factors of ideal ethical decision-making were guilt (β=.38, p<.001), awareness of the nurses' Code of Ethics (β=.18, p=.023) and motivation for entering school, among general characteristics (β=-.18, p=.033). The explanatory power of the model was 22.2%. Further, the influencing factors of realistic ethical decision-making were ideal ethical decision-making (β=.26, p=.001) and grade (among general characteristics) (β=.15, p=.029); the explanatory power of the model was 17.9%. Conclusion: Various educational tools and programs pertaining to making ideal and ethical decisions must be enhanced to promote ethical choices in clinical areas and realistic ethical decision-making ability to actually make such choices. This focus may enable nurses to improve their nursing professionalism in the future.

  • Purpose: This study attempts to identify the level of awareness, ethical awareness, and decision-making among nursing students, in response to pandemic infectious diseases. Methods: Subjects were 210 nursing college students attending colleges in 5 cities and provinces nationwide. Data were collected from November 2017 to April 2018 using a self-administrated questionnaire, and analyzed utilizing descriptive statistics. Results: Considering the awareness of pandemic infectious diseases, the nursing students expressed high concern about the possibility of future outbreaks of pandemic infectious diseases and seriousness of the situation. There were numerous negative views on the response and stockpiling of drugs by the government. Ethical awareness of pandemic infectious diseases was high, with demands for accurate information and proper protective equipment. Overall, ethical decision-making when responding to pandemic infectious diseases represented a high score. Also, higher awareness levels of pandemic infectious diseases would result in increased ethical and ethical decision-making. Conclusion: In conclusion, we propose the introduction of an ethical education program for medical personnel and nursing university students, to enable the handling of future pandemic outbreaks of new infectious diseases.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to confirm the relationship between nursing students' nursing professionalism and ethical decision-making confidence, and to clarify the mediating effect of moral sensitivity which has a mutual influence on nursing professionalism and ethical decision-making confidence. Methods: The data collection for this study was conducted from January 23 to February 1, 2021 with junior and senior nursing students enrolled in five nursing departments in two regions. The data collected in this study were analyzed using the IBM SPSS statistics version 23.0 program. Results: Through this study, it was found that nursing professionalism (β=.47) and moral sensitivity (β=.32) acted as important influencing factors on the ethical decision-making confidence of nursing students, with an explanatory power of 31.2%. In addition, it was confirmed that there was a partial mediating effect of moral sensitivity in the relationship between the nursing professionalism and ethical decision-making confidence of nursing students, and the mediating effect coefficient of moral sensitivity was .16. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to prepare a plan to increase ethical decision-making confidence and moral sensitivity when planning interventions to improve nursing professionalism in nursing students.

간호사와 의사 간의 윤리적 딜레마 사례개발과 간호사의 의사결정 양상 (Case Development on Nurses' Ethical Dilemmas with Physicians' and Nurses' Decision Making)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a realistic clinical case and investigate nurses' decision-making about nurses' ethical dilemmas with physicians in the fields of nursing practice. Methods: Case development and a hypothetical case study were used. Participants were 52 nurses. Data were collected in 2012 and 2013 using an open-ended questionnaire and interviews and analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. Results: Various dilemma situations between nurses and physicians, such as violence, deathbed, medication prescription, and physicians' incapacity unfairness, were suggested. A clinical dilemma case about medication prescription was developed based on nurses' experiences. Nurses' responses to the developed case situation and responses were classified into five types. Various reasons were given for making the decisions and about 56% of the nurses decided to notify their supervisor without deleting nursing records. Conclusion: In this study, a realistic clinical dilemma case was developed, and nurses' ethical decision making was identified. These findings can be used in developing effective strategies for nurses to solve ethical dilemmas and to improve ethical decision-making abilities.
