  • Ethics involves distinguishing between what is right or wrong thereby making a correct choice. An organization should treat its internal as well as external stakeholders ethically. This research gives valuable insights on the prevailing ethical climate and potential organizational challenges in institutionalizing ethics and its management in the manufacturing sector. The present study is designed to analyze four parameters of ethical climate in the manufacturing sector with reference to different managerial levels, to identify the critical factor of the ethical code of conduct and to find correlations between four parameters of ethical climate. Descriptive research has been used and data are collected from 200 employees of three Indian companies of manufacturing sector using a well designed questionnaire. Analyzing data with SPSS, It has been found that overall good number of people believe that MBE (Management of Business Ethics) process is well implemented. People are well aware and trained and involved in the ethical process. Senior management is very much committed to promote the ethical environment in the organization and thus company values are well communicated to the employees. Concern resolution mechanism is well established in the organization. MBE in the organization is more prevalent in higher-level employees. Senior management commitment and reinforcement is very critical for CoC (code of conduct). Correlation between all the 4 parameters is positive and significant. But the parameters are not highly correlated with each other. Organizations need to work upon these parameters to promote an ethical climate in the organization by awarding or felicitating exemplary ethical behavior. More emphasis should be given on senior management commitment and reinforcement of the ethical behavior across all levels.

  • This study is designed to prove the role and effect of ethics codes in professional societies, especially for scientists and engineers working in R&D project groups. The hypotheses of influence on ethical conduct within the sample groups are tested and analyzed by statistical methods. Results show that the age of researchers and the integrity factor among the ethical conduct factors have significant influence on ethical conduct of research groups. The regression model of the ethical conduct factors also indicates a meaningful reference in an application or development of new ethics code in research organizations.

  • This study examines ethical confidence among clinical nurses. Data were collected from the 10th to 29th November 2014 with a structured questionnaire from 125 clinical nurses. The data collected were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 21.0. to obtain percentage, average, mean rating, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. The degree of ethical confidence in research targets showed remarkable differences statistically by age (F=3.14, p=.017), education (F=7.36, p<.001), career duration (t=-2.31, p=.024), and code of ethics knowledge (t=-3.17, p=.002). Ethical Confidence was positively correlated, r=.25(p<.001) with the degree of ethical values. There was a significant difference in Ethical Confidence by ethical value, education, and code of ethics knowledge. The total explanatory power was 15.0% and the explanatory power of the degree of ethical value(${\beta}=.28$) was greater than other factors. To help clinical nurses improve ethical confidence, interventions should be provided to increase ethical value, education, and knowledge about the code of ethics. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement such programs to improve ethical confidence in clinical nurses.

  • Confucianism and Taoism is the most representative schools in the Chinese philosophy. Through getting down to earth, they not only solved the social problem, but also accomplished a complete ideological system of their own philosophy. While examining closely the history of Chinese philosophy, some philosophers paid attention to the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism, and they will unite the different ideological system. Xuanxue(玄學) in the Wei-jin dynasty, typically, carried their research on the relationship between naturalness(自然) and Confucian ethical code(名敎). Against these theory, the scholars of Dongjin(東晋) dynasty tended to maintain the forming philosophical ideology of the relationship between naturalness(自然) and Confucian ethical code(名敎). Furthermore, they directly discussed the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism. This thesis is about a philosophical study of Yuan-hong and Ge-hong who was the typical scholar of the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism in the Donjin dynasty. Yuan-hong emphasized the utility and value of the Confucian ethical code, and he tried to find a basis of Confucian ethical code. Thus, he succeeded to the theory of the relationship between naturalness and Confucian ethical code, he at last advanced a new theory about the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism, which is called 'Taoist foundation Confucian utility(道本儒用)'. Ge-hong, from the point of view of the Taoist, accomplished the perspective on the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism, which is called 'Taoist foundation Confucian branch(道本儒末)'. Yuan-hong and Ge-hong, from the view of the relationship between foundation and utility & branch, advanced the new theory about the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism. In addition, we can correctly estimate their contribution to the development of the Chinese philosophy.
