Performance Analysis of Virtual Circuit Services Using Open Queuing Network Models (오픈 큐잉 네트워크 모델을 이용한 가상회선 서비스 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, queuing networks with open chains are considerd to analyze the performance of packet switching networks. Networks are classified into backbone and local access networks. Networks for performance analysis are distributed to twelve regions and DNS is the backbone. Analysis was conducted using the real values from the input to existing networks and mathematical estimation values. As the result of analysis, the mean of end-to-and delay for each chain was presented. Except special regions, we found that there was a little difference between real values and mathematical estimation values. However, there could be a performance problem in total networks due to the increase of communication volumes in each region. So we proposed some solutions to this problem.

  • The unbalance heavy-load elevation driving systems are composed of rotating link-mechanism and hydraulic cylinder which actuates elevation and compensates the static unbalance moment of supporting mechanism. Control and compensation of gun driving is very difficult because these mechanism imply highly nonlinearities due to hydraulic fluid characteristics and mechanical rotation of link-mechanism. In this study, through the analysis of manufactured link-mechanism, the optimal link-mechanism design of the elevating system is suggested. Also to estimate the control performance of the unbalance heavy-load elevation servo-control driving system, modeling and simulation of the system are carried out. To prove the reliability of performance estimation program,simulation results are compared with the experimental results. Both results are similar, therefore this program will be helpful to study the control performance improvement of the system.

  • This paper proposes improvement on sensorless vector control performance of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with sliding mode observer. An adaptive observer gain and second order cascade low-pass filter (LPF) were used to improve the estimation accuracy of the rotor position and speed. The adaptive observer gain was applied to suppress the chattering intensity and obtained by using the Lyapunov's stability criterion. The second order cascade LPF was designed for the system to escalate the filtering performance of the back-emf estimation. Furthermore, genetic algorithm was used to optimize the system PI controller's performance. Simulation results showed the effectiveness of the suggested improvement strategy. Moreover, the strategy was useful for the sensorless vector control of PMSM to operate on the low-speed area.

  • Among many tests to verify the characteristics of power system apparatus, the short circuit test is performed to verify the performance characteristics of the apparatus under the short-circuited power system. The verification of the short-circuit performance is inevitable for the reliability of power system and the safety of the operator around. The short circuit performance test requires the suitable power source and Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute has 4000 MVA, 500 MVA short circuit generators for the short circuit performance test. This paper will study on the parameters of short-circuit generator and the estimation of them.

To prove the validity of performance estimation program, simulation results are compared with the experimental results. Both results are similar, therefore this program will be helpful to study the improvement of the system control performance.

  • Finite wordlength effects of the FS-1016 CELP(Code Excite Linear Prediction) vocoder algorithm) is analyzed, and a block floating-Point implementation method is employed to improve the fixed-point performance. An efficient run-time integer wordlength estimation algorithm is developed, and the overall system performance.   • Analysis of thermal performance is required for the economic operation of turbine cycle of power plant. We developed corrective model of main feed water flow which is the most important parameter for the precise analysis of turbine cycle performance. Classification model for the identification of feed water flow measurement status was applied to increase the suitability of the corrective model. We used neural network and support vector machine to develop estimation model of main feed water flow with more generalization capability. The estimation model can be used practically to evaluate corrective performance of turbine cycle plant.

  • Compressive sensing can recover an original sparse signal from a few measurements. Its performance is affected by the number of non-zero elements in the signal. The knowledge of partial locations of non-zero elements can improve the recovery performance. In this paper, we apply the partial location knowledge to the multipath matching pursuit. The numerical results show it improves the signal recovery performance and the channel estimation performance in the ITU-VB channel.

  • This paper presents a new vector control scheme for induction motor. An exact knowledge of the rotor flux position is essential for a high-performance vector control. The position of the rotor flux is measured in the direct schemes and estimated in the indirect schemes. Since the estimation of the flux position requires a priori knowledge of the induction motor parameters, the indirect schemes are machine parameter dependent. The rotor and stator resistance among the parameters change with temperature. Variations in the parameters of induction machine cause deterioration of both the steady state and dynamic operation of the induction motor drive. Several methods have presented to minimize the consequences of parameter sensitivity in indirect scheme. In this paper, new estimation scheme of rotor flux position is presented to eliminate sensitivity due to variation in the resistance. The simulation is executed to verify the proposed vector control performance and to compare its performance with that of indirect and direct vector control.

  • In this paper, a robust stationary Kalman filter is designed by minimizing selected performance indices so that it is less sensitive to uncertainties. The uncertainties include not only stochastic factors such as process noise and measurement noise, but also deterministic factors such as unknown initial estimation error, modeling error and sensing bias. To reduce the effect on the uncertainties, three performance indices that should be minimized are selected based on the quantitative error analysis to both the deterministic and the stochastic uncertainties. The selected indices are the size of the observer gain, the condition number of the observer matrix, and the estimation error variance. The observer gain is obtained by optimally solving the multi-objectives optimization problem that minimizes the indices. The robustness of the proposed filter is demonstrated through the comparison with the standard Kalman filter.
