In network delivery of compressed video, packets may be lost if the channel is unreliable like Internet. Such losses tend to of cur in burst like continuous bit-stream error. In this paper, we propose an effective error-concealment approach to which an error resilient video encoding approach is applied against burst errors and which reduces a complexity of error concealment at the decoder using data hiding. To improve the performance of error concealment, a temporal and spatial error resilient video encoding approach at encoder is developed to be robust against burst errors. For spatial area of error concealment, block shuffling scheme is introduced to isolate erroneous blocks caused by packet losses. For temporal area of error concealment, we embed parity bits in content data for motion vectors between intra frames or continuous inter frames and recovery loss packet with it at decoder after transmission While error concealment is performed on error blocks of video data at decoder, it is computationally costly to interpolate error video block using neighboring information. So, in this paper, a set of feature are extracted at the encoder and embedded imperceptibly into the original media. If some part of the media data is damaged during transmission, the embedded features can be extracted and used for recovery of lost data with bi-direction interpolation. The use of data hiding leads to reduced complexity at the decoder. Experimental results suggest that our approach can achieve a reasonable quality for packet loss up to 30% over a wide range of video materials.

The calibration for systematic error in LiDAR is crucial for the accuracy of airborne laser scanning. The main error is the misalignment of platforms between INS(Inertial Navigation System) and Laser scanner For planimetrical calibration of LiDAR, the building is good feature which has great changes in height and continuous flat area in the top. The planimetry error(pitch, roll) is corrected by adjustment of height which is calculated from comparing ground control points(GCP) of building to laser scanning data. We can know scale correction of laser range by the comparison of LiDAR data and GCP is arranged at the end of scan angle where maximize the height error. The area for scale calibration have to be large flat and have almost same elevation. At 1000m for average flying height, The Accuracy of laser scanning data using LiDAR is within 110cm in height and ${\pm}$50cm in planmetry so we can use laser scanning data for generating 3D terrain surface, expecically digital surface model(DSM) which is difficult to measure by aerial photogrammetry in forest, coast, urban area of high buildings

A state feedback controller with integration of output error is proposed for way-point tracking of an AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle). For the steering control on the XY plane, the proposed controller uses three state variables (sway velocity, yaw rate, heading angle) and the integral of the steering error, and for the depth control on the XZ plane, it uses four state variables (pitch rate, depth, pitch angle) and the integral of the depth error. From the simulation using Matlab/Simulink, we verify that the performance of the proposed controller is satisfactory within an error range of 1m from the target way-point for arbitrarily chosen sets of consecutive way-points.

Frequency offset in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is known to cause the inter-channel interference (ICI), amplitude and phase distortion of a received signal, resulting in a severe performance degradation of the total system. In this paper, we propose an improved pilot-based masimum likelihood frequency offset estimation technique, which uses the predefined sync-subchannels, and derive the error performance of the proposed frequency offset estimator analytically. The proposed technique improves the performance of the frequency offset estimator by adding up the frequency offset caused by coherent phase changes and averaging out the effect caused by random phase error. It is confirmed by computer simulations that the upper bound of error variance for the proposed frequency offset estimator analytically derived in this paper is correct, and that the proposed estimator has better performance than the previous ones in terms of error variance, tracking range, and time-varying characteristics of a channel.

Fuzzy controller's design depends mainly on the rule base and membership functions over the controller's input and output ranges. This paper presents two different approaches to deal with these design issues. A simple and efficient approach; namely, Fuzzy Subtractive Clustering is used to identify the rule base needed to realize Fuzzy PI and PD type controllers. This technique provides a mechanism to obtain the reduced rule set covering the whole input/output space as well as membership functions for each input variable. But it is found that some membership functions projected from different clusters have high degree of similarity. The number of membership functions of each input variable is then reduced using a similarity measure. In this paper, the fuzzy subtractive clustering approach is shown to reduce 49 rules to 8 rules and number of membership functions to 4 and 6 for input variables (error and change in error) maintaining almost the same level of performance. Simulation on a wide range of linear and nonlinear processes is carried out and results are compared with fuzzy PI and PD type controllers without clustering in terms of several performance measures such as peak overshoot, settling time, rise time, integral absolute error (IAE) and integral-of-time multiplied absolute error (ITAE) and in each case the proposed schemes shows an identical performance.

In the end milling process, the information of the surface errors plays an important role in adaptive control systems for precision machining. As the measuring accuracy of the surface errors directly matches the control's, it is an important factor for evaluating the performance of the system. In order to obtain the surface errors, the prediction using the cutting force, torque, motor power etc. is frequently practiced owing to the easiness in measurement. In the implementation of the prediction, the information on the cutting depths make it concrete and precise. Actually the axial depth of cut limits the range of the calculation. In general, it is not easy to know the cutting depths due to irregular shape of workpieces, inaccurate positioning of them on the table of machine tool, and machining error in the previous cutting. In addition to, even if cutting depths are informed, it is difficult to match the individual position of the cutter on the varying shape of the work material. This work suggests an algorithm estimating the cutting depths based on cutting force and makes it precise to predict the surface error. The proposed algorithm can be applied in more extensive cutting situations, such as presence of the tool wear, change of the work material hardness, etc.

Purpose: This study was done to examine the relationship between nursing students' hearing levels and accuracy of blood pressure (BP) measurements. Methods: Participants were 107 students who had finished their fundamental nursing practice and clinical practicum and who used earphones. Data were collected from October 13 to November 30, 2014 and from April 30 to May 19, 2015. Students' hearing thresholds were examined using an audiometer. Students were assigned to take two BP measurements on BP measurement training simulators, but only the second measurement was used for analysis. Results: All nursing students' hearing levels were within normal range, and there was no significant difference found among the settings for diastolic blood pressure. However, there were significant differences between low systolic blood pressure (SBP) (below 120mmHg) and high SBP (over 140mmHg) (z=9.02, p=.011). Measurement error in SBP showed a positive correlation with hearing threshold in the right ear at frequencies of 1000Hz and 500Hz. Conclusion: Findings indicate that BP measurement error is correlated with hearing threshold at some frequencies. To reduce measurement error, nursing students should be provided with health education about hearing and to improve training for students, further studies need to examine other factors influencing BP measurement error.

This paper is a study on precise point positioning using global navigation satellite system. This paper studies inherent barriers of global navigation satellite system such as increase in shadowed areas and positioning errors when signals cannot be received due to various environmental factors. It analyzes performance of various receivers, changes in number of satellite and DOP(Dilution of Precision) following changes in environment such as center of a road, side of a road, residential area, high building, and alleys. It also studies changes in positioning error. The objective of this study lies on understanding the range of positioning error following changes in environment and the cause of error, and enhancing the reliability and safety of the global navigation satellite system.

Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to improve image classification by the unsupervised classification techniques, the K-means. To do this, I selected a Landsat TM scene of Jeju Island, Korea and proposed two methods for PCA: unstandardized PCA (UPCA) and standardized PCA (SPCA). The estimated accuracy of the image classification of Jeju area was computed by error matrix. The error matrix was derived from three unsupervised classification methods. Error matrices indicated that classifications done on the first three principal components for UPCA and SPCA of the scene were more accurate than those done on the seven bands of TM data and that also the results of UPCA and SPCA were better than those of the raw Landsat TM data. The classification of TM data by the K-means algorithm was particularly poor at distinguishing different land covers on the island. From the classification results, we also found that the principal component based classifications had characteristics independent of the unsupervised techniques (numerical algorithms) while the TM data based classifications were very dependent upon the techniques. This means that PCA data has uniform characteristics for image classification that are less affected by choice of classification scheme. In the results, we also found that UPCA results are better than SPCA since UPCA has wider range of digital number of an image.

We present a high-accuracy digital-to-analog (DA) actuator using a load spring, specially designed to compensate the output displacement errors caused by fabrication errors. The compensated linear DA actuator is capable to change the slope of input-output modulation line in order to compensate fabrication errors. We design, fabricate, and characterize three different prototypes: one uncompensated design and two compensated designs respectively for a specific value and for a given range of fabrication error. The compensated linear DA actuators show the output displacement errors of $-0.20{\pm}0.23{\mu}m\;and\;-0.13{\pm}0.18{\mu}m$, respectively, reduced by 64.3% and 76.8% of the output displacement error, $0.56{\pm}0.20{\mu}m$, produced by the conventional uncompensated linear DA actuator. We experimentally verify the fabrication error compensation capability of the present compensated linear DA actuators, thus demonstrating high-accuracy actuation performance immune to fabrication errors.
