  • In this paper, we propose a new MAC(Medium Access Control) protocol using Movable-boundary, which tries to guarantee Qos for multimedia traffic in the slotted CDMA system. In this scheme, the traffic scheduler assigns channel resource according to the packet priority per service class and adapts the Movable-boundary concept in which the minimum resource is assigned to each traffic class; the remaining resource if it is available can be assigned dynamically according to the temporal demand of other traffic classes. For performance analysis, we performed computer simulations to obtain throughput and packet loss rate and compared the results with Fixed-boundary system. We observed that the error rate of voice traffic could be maintained below a prescribed value while bursty traffic such as video source shares the same channel. In comparison with Fixed-boundary scheme, our protocol exhibits better throughput and packet loss rate performance.

  • These days many systems use the gps signal to get their own position. Because it's cheap and accurate and convenient. But, the strength of gps signal is very weak and can be easily interrupted by GPS jamming and GPS spoofing. Normally, fighter can use DME, TACAN, etc to correct their position error when GPS is not working. But, many aircraft which does not have those kinds of hardware need to pay additional cost to get it. In this paper, we propose how to overcome GPS jamming and GPS spoofing by only using data link system. The main purpose of this paper is to make the data link protocol to get an exact position information of own unit at gps error environment.

  • IETF 6LoWPAN standard technique has been studied in IoT environment to support the IPv6 packet communication. 6LoWPAN protocol for transmission of packets mainly in the AODV routing protocol and a variety of extended techniques have been investigated. In particular, consisting of nodes with limited resources in a network error occurs when the 6LoWPAN reliable data transfer and fast routing method is needed. To this end, in this paper, we propose resilient routing protocol and extension of IETF LOAD algorithm, for optimal recovery path, More specifically, the optimal recovery path setup algorithm, signal flow, and detailed protocols for the verification of the reliability of packet transmission mathematical model is presented. The proposed protocol techniques to analyze the performance of the NS-3 performance through the simulation results that is end-to-end delay, throughput, packet delivery fraction and control packet overhead demonstrated excellence in comparison with existing LOAD.

  • In the context of wireless sensor networks, one of major issues is energy conservation. For low power communication, by utilizing our experimental results for the relation between clock drift and synchronization interval, we designed a new protocol which can support a wide range of duty cycles for applications with very low traffic rate and insensitive delay. The transmission (TX) node in the protocol synchronizes with the reception (RX) node very before transmitting a packet, and it can adaptively estimate the synchronization error size according to the synchronization interval from minutes to hours. We conducted simulations and a testbed implementation to show the efficacy of the proposed protocol. We found that our protocol substantially outperforms other state-of-the-art protocols, resulting in order-of-magnitude increase in network lifetime over a variety of duty cycles.

  • This paper describes Real-Time Trasport Protocol(RTTP) that procisdes for a ; user cmnnection-oriented sercices with performance fuarantee.Assuming that eral-time network services will be provided,RTTP solves provlems at end-hosts.RTTP has defined a new set of primitives for real-time communication servies based on the analysis of uwer requirements on various applications.Introducing the notion of Abstract Network Layer independent of real networks.RTTP's implementation scheme can be applied to various netwoeks. The study also intriduces an inplemenation strategy, provide prdeictability of protocol processing time, wich should be known a priori for performance guarantee.Intermally,RTTP has a set of QoS translation rules that change a user'w performance requirements to the equivalent network QoS paramenters.RTTP also introuduces a new apportunistic error control mehtod that can trade-off between overhead and error corredtion according to a uwer's requirement on reliability.

  • In this paper the modeling of the RLP layer in CDMA2000 is presented, which uses the NAK based ARQ scheme for Random Error Channels. The RLP performs a partial link recovery through limited number of RLP frame transmission in case of frame error. In case when the RLP fails due to excessive frame error, the control is passed on to the higher (TCP) layer. The TCP layer provides the complete end-to-end recovery. Thus the reliable performance at the TCP/RLP is essential to maintain the required Quality of Service in the DS-CDMA wireless links. The modeling is done for the performance analysis of the system in terms of the throughput and the mean extra delays, which are calculated analytically and are compared with the results generated by the simulations. This paper studies the effect of the random errors over different types of RLP frame formats and also the performance of the NAK based ARQ mechanism used under these conditions. The simulation provides with the over all characteristics of the throughput and the mean extra delay in terms of realistic environment parameters like Eb/No and probability of packet error (PE), based on the channel conditions.

  • As the TCP is the protocol designed for the wired network that packet loss probability is very low, because TCP transmitter takes it for granted that the packet loss by the wireless network characteristics is occurred by the network congestion and lowers the transmitter's transmission rate, the performance is degraded. The Snoop Protocol was designed for the wired network by putting the Snoop agent module on the BS(Base Station) that connect the wire network to the wireless network to complement the TCP problem. The Snoop agent cash the packets being transferred to the wireless terminal and recover the loss by resending locally for the error occurred in the wireless link. The Snoop agent blocks the unnecessary congestion control by preventing the dupack (duplicate acknowledgement)for the retransmitted packet from sending to the sender and hiding the loss in the wireless link from the sender. We evaluated the performance in the wired/wireless network and in various TCP versions using the TCP designed for the wired network and the Snoop designed for the wireless network and evaluated the performance of the wired/wireless hybrid network in the wireless link environment that the continuous packet loss occur.

  • A communication system based on DATEX-ASN, an international communication protocol for use in COSMOS, a real-time traffic responsive signal system of Seoul, was developed in this study. Through laboratory experiments, it was identified that some additional rules were necessary for its successful application to COSMOS and thus proper complementary rules were devised. Laboratory experiments were to measure error-rates of monitoring information packet, EOC duration and operating cycle-length errors at different data transmission rates and the results of each experiment were compared each other. The results show that the DATEX-ASN protocol requires a transmission rate of at least 9,600bps which is higher than a transmission rate of 4,800bps required by NTCIP.
