Implementation of an automatic face recognition system using the object centroid (무게중심을 이용한 자동얼굴인식 시스템의 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic recognition algorithm using the object centroid of a facial image. First, we separate the facial image from the background image using the chroma-key technique and we find the centroid of the separated facial image. Second, we search nose in the facial image based on knowledge of human faces and the coordinate of the object centroid and, we calculate 17 feature parameters automatically. Finally, we recognize the facial image by using feature parameters in the neural networks which are trained through error backpropagation algorithm. It is illustrated by experiments by experiments using the proposed recogniton system that facial images can be recognized in spite of the variation of the size and the position of images.

  • This paper proposes a method to recognize object with 2-dimension image. In most cases, it takes too many processes, complicate algorithm and time to recognize object with expert system because of inherent comfiguration of the object. This paper includes some processing steps such as pre-processing method, recognition method with neural network and learing algorithm of multi-layer perceptron using error backpropagation.

  • A new algorithm is proposed for training the multilayer perceptrion(MLP) in pattern classification problems to accelerate the learning speed. It is shown that the sigmoid activation function of the output node can have deterimental effect on the performance of learning. To overcome this detrimental effect and to use the information fully in supervised learning, an objective function for binary modes is proposed. This objective function is composed with two new output activation functions which are selectively used depending on desired values of training patterns. The effect of the objective function is analyzed and a training algorithm is proposed based on this. Its performance is tested in several examples. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed method is better than that of the conventional error back propagation (EBP) method.

  • In this paper, this system makes use of the analog sensor and converts the feature of fish analog signal when sensor is operating with CPU(80C196KC). Then, After signal processing, this feature Is classified a special feature and a outline of fish by using the neural network, one of the artificial intelligence scheme. This neural network classifies fish pattern of very simple and short calculation. This has linear activation function and the error backpropagation is used as a learning algorithm. And the neural network is learned in off-line process. Because an adaptation period of neural network is too long time when random initial weights are used, off-line learning Is induced to decrease the Progress time We confirmed this method has better performance than somewhat outdated machines.

  • Machine recognition of faces from still and video images is emerging as an active research area spanning several disciplines such as image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision and neural networks. In addition, human face identification has numerous applications such as human interface based systems and real-time video systems of surveillance and security. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can identify a particular individual face. We consider human face identification system in color space, which hasn't often considered in conventional in conventional methods. In order to make the algorithm insensitive to luminance, we convert the conventional RGB coordinates into normalized CIE coordinates. The normalized-CIE-based facial images are KL-transformed. The transformed data are used as the input of multi-layered neural network and the network are trained using error-backpropagation methods. Finally, we verify the system performance of the proposed algorithm by experiments.

  • 본 논문에서는 쿠르노 모형을 적용한 양방향입찰 전력 풀시장에서 입찰에 참여하는 발전기가 최대 이익을 얻기 위한 입찰전략으로서 신경회로망의 오차 역전파 알고리즘을 이용하여 최적 입찰발전량과 입찰가격을 수립하는 기법에 관하여 연구한다. 전력시장 환경은 n 개의 발전기들이 참여하는 비협조적 불완전정보 시장으로 설정하고 Bayesian의 조건부 확률이론을 적용하여 상대 발전기들의 발전비용함수와 시장의 수요함수를 추정하여 발전기 상호간 쿠르노-내쉬균형점을 이루는 최적 입찰발전량을 예측한다. 그리고 이익을 극대화시키기 위해 오차 역전파 알고리즘을 이용하여 시장의 가격 탄력성과 쿠르노 시장균형가격에 연결가중치를 조절함으로써 입찰가격이 계통한계가격에 근접하도록 최적 입찰전략을 수립한다.

  • Speaker verification systems based on multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) have good prospects in reliability and flexibility required as a successful authentication system. However, the poor learning speed of the error backpropagation (EBP) which is representative learning method of MLPs is the major defect to be complemented to achieve real-time user enrollments. In this paper, we implement an MLP-based speaker verification system and apply the existing two methods of the omitting patterns in instant learning (OIL) and the discriminative cohort speakers (DCS) to approach real-time enrollment. An evaluation of the system on a Korean speech database demonstrates the feasibility of the system as a speaker verification system of high performance.

  • This paper presents a vector controlled induction motor is implemented by neural networks system compared with PI controller for the speed control. The design employed the training strategy with Neural Network Controller(NNC) and Neural Network Emulator(NNE) for speed. In order to update the weights of the controller First of all Emulator updates its parameters by identifying the motor input and output next it supplies the error path to the output stage of the controller using backpropagation algorithm, As Controller produces an adequate output to the system due to neural networks learning capability Vector controlled induction motor characteristics actual motor speed with based on neural network system follows the reference speed better than that of linear PI speed controller.

Neural Network-based Time Series Modeling of Optical Emission Spectroscopy Data for Fault Prediction in Reactive Ion Etching

  • Neural network-based time series models called time series neural networks (TSNNs) are trained by the error backpropagation algorithm and used to predict process shifts of parameters such as gas flow, RF power, and chamber pressure in reactive ion etching (RIE). The training data consists of process conditions, as well as principal components (PCs) of optical emission spectroscopy (OES) data collected in-situ. Data are generated during the etching of benzocyclobutene (BCB) in a SF6/O2 plasma. Combinations of baseline and faulty responses for each process parameter are simulated, and a moving average of TSNN predictions successfully identifies process shifts in the recipe parameters for various degrees of faults.

  • Many research results on the traffic enforcement of illegal driving of twowheeled motor vehicles using license plate recognition are introduced. Deep learning convolutional neural networks can be used for character and word recognition of license plates because of better generalization capability compared to traditional Backpropagation neural networks. In the plates of twowheeled motor vehicles, the interdependent government and city words are included. If we implement the mutually independent word recognizers using error correction rules for two word recognition results, efficient license plate recognition results can be derived. The CPU based convolutional neural network without library under real time processing has an advantage of low cost real application compared to GPU based convolutional neural network with library. In this paper twowheeled motor vehicle license plate recognition algorithm is introduced using CPU based deep-learning convolutional neural network. The experimental results show that the proposed plate recognizer has 96.2% success rate for outdoor twowheeled motor vehicle images in real time.
