Inverse analysis of erection process for prismatic tensegrity structures with redundant cables

  • Firstly, a new kind of prismatic tensegrity structures with redundant cables is defined, the topology, geometry and forming conditions of which are introduced further. The development of its mechanical properties including self-stress states and structural stiffness with the increment of the twist angle is also investigated carefully. Combined with the topology of this kind of structures, a reasonable erection scheme is proposed, in which some temporary lifting points need to be set and two groups of vertical cables are tensioned in batches. Then, a simplified dynamic relaxation method is employed to track the erection process inversely, which aims to predict each intermediate equilibrium state during the construction, and give the key structural parameters that can effectively guide the construction. The removal of the active cables, the relaxation or tension of the passive cables are simulated by controlling their axial stiffness, so that the structural composition as well as the serial numbers of the elements always keep invariant regardless of the withdrawal of the slack cables. The whole analysis process is clear in concept, simple to implement and easy to popularize. Finally, several examples are given to verify the practicability and effectiveness of the proposed method further.

Point Cloud-Based Spatial Environment Development for Near Real-Time Erection Simulation in Shipyards

  • Interference and collisions often occur in the loading process at shipyards. Existing simulation methods focus primarily on resource processes and schedules, and there is a lack of real-time reflection in the complex and highly variable loading process. This study aims to develop a spatial environment incorporating real-time product data, such as hulls, and confirms its effectiveness by simulating various construction scenarios. As a method, a near real-time spatial environment based on broadband laser scanning was established, with the situation of loading heavy cargo assumed when converting an existing ship into an LNG dual-fuel propulsion ship. A case study simulation of near-real-time cargo loading processes was then conducted using Unity 3D to confirm the interference and collision risks within the spatial environment. The results indicated that interference occurred in structures previously not identified in the design data, and a collision occurred during the loading object erection phase. The simulation confirmed that the identification of interference and collision risks during the erection phase highlights the need for a relocation or removal process of potential hazards before erection takes place. An improved erection simulation that integrates near real-time data could effectively prevent interference and collision risks.

초기 신체 구조 모델을 기반으로 한 신체 블록의 물량 정보 생성 및 블록 탑재 시물레이션 (Generation of the Production Material Information of a Building Block and the Simulation of the Block Erection Based on the Initial Hull Structural Model)

  • At the initial design stage, the generation process of the production material information of a building block and the simulation process of the block erection, which are required to perform the production planning and scheduling, have been manually performed using 2D drawings, based on the data of parent ships, and subjective intuition from past experience. To make these processes automatic, the accurate generation method of the production material information and the convenient simulation method of the block erection based on the initial hull structural model(3D CAD model), were developed in this study. Here, the initial hull' structural model was generated from the initial hull structural CAD system early developed by us. To evaluate the developed methods. these methods were applied to corresponding processes of a deadweight 300,OOOton VLCC. As a result. it was shown that the production material information of a building block can be accurately generated and the block erection can be conveniently simulated in the initial design stage.

To make these processes automatic, the accurate generation method of the production material information and the convenient simulation method of the block erection using the 3D CAD model, which was generated from the initial hull structural design system early developed by us, were proposed in this study. For this, a 3D CAD model for a whole hull structure was generated first, and the block division method for dividing the 3D CAD model into several building blocks was proposed. The generation method of the production material information for calculating the weight, center of gravity, painting area, joint length, etc. of a building block was proposed as well. Moreover, the simulation method of the block erection was proposed. Finally, to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed methods for the generation of the production material information and the simulation of the block erection, these methods were applied to corresponding processes of a deadweight 300,000 ton VLCC (Very Large Crude oil Carrier). As a result, it was shown that the production material information of a building block can be accurately generated and the block erection can be conveniently simulated in the initial design stage.

  • 케이블로 지지되는 제주월드컵경기장의 지붕구조물이 구조적으로 안정한 거동을 하기 위해서는 케이블의 시공시 구조설계자가 요구하는 정확한 초기장력을 케이블에 부여해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 케이블의 시공을 위하여 장력도입 절차와 절차에 따른 장력의 계산을 기하학적 비선형을 고려한 유한요소해석을 통하여 수행하여 그 유효성을 평가하고 적용하였다. 지붕구조물을 지지하는 케이블에 장력을 도입하는 작업은 정확한 장력의 계산뿐 아니라, 각 작업을 진행 중 구조적으로 안정성을 확보해야 하며, 작업공정을 최소로 줄이고 후속공정에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하여 최소한 공기와 효율적인 장비의 운용되도록 계획하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 현장의 여건과 기술적 오류를 보완하기 위한 작업 절차의 변경 등을 고려하여 제주월드컵경기장의 지지케이블의 장력을 허용오차범위내에서 조정할 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to specify an erection process for each member of the PC staircase. For this purpose, field work was investigated at the LH PC apartment building site and classified in detail through unit work analysis inspection. The results of this study are intended to be used as basic data for creating work sequences and related guidelines for LH's PC staircase.

A CSP-based Load Leveling Algorithm for Ship Block Erection Network

  • The erection in shipbuilding is the process to assemble all the blocks one by one in certain order and requires more leveled and efficient schedule than other processes do. However, erection schedule includes too many constraints to be systemized with simple programs and constraints are changed frequently. These difficulties make it rare to find automatic erection schedule generation system with load leveling ability. In this paper, a CSP (Constraint Satisfaction Problem)-based load leveling algorithm using a maximum load diminution technique is proposed and applied to the block erection scheduling of a dock in a shipyard. The result shows that it performs better than currently used scheduling method based on empirical logics. The maximum load of welding length and crane usage are reduced by 31.63% and 30.00% respectively. The deviation of resource usage amount also decreases by 8.93% and 7.51%.

  • Lifting plan in the large spacial structure is an important factor influencing the efficiency and economy of the construction process. The purpose of this study was deriving the requirements for lifting techniques as the basic research in the double spoke wheel roof structure construction. In the lift up erection method, management plan of the interference error in the column and outer-ring was needed that occur during lifting roof structure. In the bent erection method, material usage reduction plan was required by the structural design of the temporary bent. In the hybrid erection method, lifting plan was needed that minimizes weather condition and crane usage. All lifting techniques were required Value Engineering model for reduction of cost and construction period.

  • In the shipbuilding industry, accuracy management is one of the keys for strengthening competitiveness. However, ship block errors are unavoidable in the block erection stage because of the deformation of the blocks. Currently, accuracy managers decide whether or not block corrections are needed, based on measured and designed point data. They adjust the locations of hull blocks so that the blocks are aligned with other assembly blocks based upon the experience of production engineers. This paper proposes an optimization process that can adjust the locations of ship blocks during the erection stage. A genetic algorithm is used for this optimization scheme. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed method is discussed using several case studies. We found that the proposed method can find the optimized re-alignment of erection blocks, as well as improve the productivity of the erection stage.

  • 본 연구에서는 스트라치 시스템의 긴장설치과정 및 극한하중 해석을 수행하기 위한 명시적 해석법을 제안하였다. 스트라치 시스템은 Stressed-Arch에서 유래한 용어로 슬리브와 갭이 도입된 유동하현재 내부의 긴장재에 초기장력을 도입함으로써 갭이 점차 닫히게 되며, 이에 따라 상현재에 곡률이 도입되면서 전체 구조물이 상승하여, 최종적인 아치형태의 구조물을 형성하는 독창적인 구조시스템이다. 스트라치 시스템의 초기장력 도입과정을 긴장설치(stress-erection) 과정이라 하며, 초기곡률의 도입에 따라 유동 상현재에는 과도한 초기변형이 발생하여 소성거동에 의한 강체회전이 발생하는 불안정 구조물이 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 스트라치 시스템의 불안정 거동특성을 해석하기 위해서 강성행렬을 사용하지 않는 명시적 동적이완법을 사용하여 비선형 평형방정식의 해를 구하였고, 대변위 및 단면의 재료적 특성을 반영할 수 있는 필라맨트 보요소를 사용하여 연속된 상현재의 비선형 거동특성을 분석하였다. 필라맨트 보요소의 단면은 다수의 1차원 필라맨트로 구성되며, 각각의 필라맨트에 대해서 다양한 재료모델을 적용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 비선형 재료모델인 Ramberg-Osgood모델 및 Bi-linear 탄소성 모델을 적용하여 긴장설치 및 극한하중 해석을 수행하였고, 그 결과를 이전의 실험적 연구결과와 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구의 해석결과는 이전의 실험적 연구결과와 유사하였으며, 명시적 해석법의 특성상 효율적으로 후좌굴거동 특성까지 해석할 수 있었다.
