Hypothesis testing for the equality of two distributions were considered. Nonparametric kernel density estimates were used for testing equality of distributions. Cross-validatory choice of bandwidth was used in the kernel density estimation. Sampling distribution of considered test statistic were developed by resampling method, called the bootstrap. Small sample Monte Carlo simulation were conducted. Empirical power of considered tests were compared for variety distributions.

There are several ways to test the equality of two survival distributions under a variety of situations. Tests for equality of two distributions with life-table model for univariate independent response times are reviewed and introduced. It is developed that the methodology to test it for correlated response times where treatments are applied to different independent sets of cohorts. Data, which can be separated into two independent sets, from an angioplasty study where more than one procedure is performed on some patients are used to illustrate this methodology.

As the present Korean family has been exposed to many social changes, the family types and family values of Korean family also have been changed substantially. This study was carried out to find the desirable type and family values of future Korean family. Equality between men and women, equality among family members, and bilateral kinship relations were suggested as desirable values of the Korean family. Variety in family type, including various married couple centered on family and various extened family, was suggested as future Korean family type.

It is need to reestablish multicultural perspectives when we coming into the multicultural society. The Zhuāngzǐ who lived in the Age of the Warring States 2300 years ago showed the way multicultural society pursues. We reorganized his works into the two categories as follows. First, we need to know multicultural society. The beginning of harmonious multicultural society is to know others. For this we should disregard Ceng-Xin and experience the variety of multicultural societies. Second, it is about the way multicultural society purse. Liang-Xing based on the altruism which includes Xuxin and self determination is important. For this, equality of variety and differences in multi culture should be materialized in a way to help each other. Therefore, we need to respect and impose a positive role of the strength of other culture in order to make active image. In addition, desirable multicultural society will sustain when we realize grand alliance with goodness of respecting others.

Recently, women astronomers have played increasingly important roles in the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Although only 18% are women across the entire membership of the IAU, currently one half of the IAU Executive Committee members are female. In fact, the previous, current, and next presidents of the IAU and many of the Division presidents are women. I will review a variety of efforts that the IAU has carried out to pursue equality and diversity in Astronomy. Also I will share my personal experience and thoughts on meritocracy as a guiding principle that governs academic integrity and scholarly power system in scientific communities in Korea.

In this study aims is water supply criteria relations for evaluating the possible performance of water resources systems. These measures describe how likely a systems is to fail(reliability), how quickly it recovers from failure(resiliency), and how severe the consequences of failure may be(vulnerability). The performance of a criteria evaluating with a variety of operating policies illustrates their use. As a result study frequency reliability and quantitative reliability is linear relations and quantitative reliability is high reliability for equality water supply policy. As reliability and vulnerability are in inverse proportion to each other. Therefore these criteria relation analysis can be for Imha dam to variety water supply policy.

The fuzzy pattern matching technique has been developed in the framework of fuzzy set and possibility theory in order to take into account the imprecision and the uncertainty pervading values which have to be compared to requirements (which may be fuzzy) in a pattern matching process. This paper restates the basic principles and extends them to situations where (sub)patterns are only required to be satisfied up to a given tolerance (which may be fuzzy), or where the different subparts of a compound pattern may have various levels of importance. Both cases correspond to a weakening of elementary patterns. which can be expressed by a fuzzy relations modelling an approximate equality or an uncertain strict equality respectively. We also study the more sophisticated case where some elementary patterns have not to be satisfied with the highest priority provided that weaker requirements remain satisfied. The fuzzy pattern matching technique applies in a variety of problems including the evaluation of soft queries with respect to a fuzzy database, the evaluation of the fuzzy condition parts of rules in approximate reasoning, or the evaluation of the belonging of an ill-known object to a flexible class in classification problems.

In this paper, we propose a robust real-time myocardial border tracking algorithm for echocardiography. Commonly, after an initial contour of LV border is traced at one or two frame from the entire cardiac cycle, LV contour tracking is performed over the remaining frames. Among a variety of tracking techniques, optical flow method is the most widely used for motion estimation of moving objects. However, when echocardiography data is heavily corrupted in some local regions, the errors bring the tracking point out of the endocardial border, resulting in distorted LV contours. This shape distortion often occurs in practice since the data acquisition is affected by ultrasound artifacts, dropout or shadowing phenomena of cardiac walls. The proposed method deals with this shape distortion problem and reflects the motion realistic LV shape by applying global deformation modeled as affine transform partitively to the contour. We partition the tracking points on the contour into a few groups and determine each affine transform governing the motion of the partitioned contour points. To compute the coefficients of each affine transform, we use the least squares method with equality constraints that are given by the relationship between the coefficients and a few contour points showing good tracking results. Many real experiments show that the proposed method supports better performance than existing methods.

Feeding preference of cigarette beetle, Lasioderma sewicorne F., on cured tobacco leaves was investigated to obtain basic information on ecological management of the insect pest in tobacco storage warehouses. About 3, 000-4, 000 adults of the insect were released in a warehouse in which groud tobacco leaves were placed on the bottom and at 3m above the floor level, and numbers of insects attracted were examined. There was no significant difference on feeding preference between the two tobacco varieties, flue-cured(NC82) and air-cured(Br3l) tobacco leaves. However, significant differences were noted in feeding preference between thick and thin leaves and among different quality grades within a tobacco variety. Feeding preferences of cigarette beetle between flue- and air- cured tobacco varieties showed significant differences on the lower position, though there were no differences on the 3m upper position. On the 3m upper position, feeding preferences were different between thick and thin leaves of tobacco varieties, and variety X thickness and variety X thickness equality grades showed statistically significant differences. Significantly higher feeding preference by cigarette beetle adults was observed for the food placed on the 3m upper than on the lower position. There were negative correlations between quality grades of cured tobacco leaves and feeding preference on the lower position, and the regression equation was Y(feeding preference)=4.050-0.683 X (degree).

This was to study the possible changes of living habit and the resultant changes of human body who indulged in an oriental sitting down culture. our living habits make us take a conveninent direction unconsciously. Also studied the correlation between changes in body related with these living habits. The subjects were 44(22 males and 22 females)normal persons. Frequency and percentage were used in the analysis of data. analysis certain items which require the division of sex seperately in the analysis of result. The limitations of this were the lack of equality and variety in region. age. and sex. This was attempted to get significant results by providing an apportunity to think of activities of daily living habit and studying the relation among living habits with effects of living habit on body.
