  • Titanium silicalite-1 촉매를 $175^{\circ}C$에서 2일간 $SiO_2-TiO_2$ xerogel을 전구체로 사용하여 수열 합성하였고, 이를 이용하여 allylchloride(ALC) 에폭시화 반응의 속도론 인자를 도출하기 위해 반응온도 $25{\sim}55^{\circ}C$, ALC의 농도 0.2~3.0 M, 과산화수소의 농도 0.2~1.5 M 영역에서 촉매 반응실험을 수행하였다. 초기농도법을 이용하여 반응속도를 구한 후, power rate law, Eley-Rideal, 및 Langmuir-Hinshelwood 모델에 적용한 결과, 큰 차이는 없으나 power rate law에서 실험치와 예측치가 가장 우수하게 일치하였고, 이때 활성화 에너지는 29.7 kJ/mol, 과산화수소에 대한 반응차수는 0.41, ALC에 대한 반응차수는 0.52였다.

  • Eleven novel oxiranyl and thiiranyl phenolic compounds were synthesized as potential antitumor agents using epichlorohydrin and epithiohydrin in the presence of $K_2CO_3$. Cytotoxicities were found in range of I$C_{50}$ values of 2.5-14.8 $\mu$M, which was partially attributed to topoisomerase II inhibition. Bis-thiiranyl anthraquinone analog, 19 showed more cytotoxicity against MDA-MB-231 (breast cancer cell) and PC3 (prostate cancer cell) after 24 and/or 48 h and more potent topoisomerase II inhibitory activity than etoposide.

4,4'-Thiodibenzenethiol을 이용한 광경화형 에폭시 아크릴레이트 합성과 굴절률에 관한 연구 (Synthesis of UV Curable 4,4'-Thiodibenzenethiol-based Epoxy Acrylate and Their Refractive Index Behavior)

  • 4,4'-Thiodibenzenethiol을 기반으로 이관능 에폭시 수지인 4,4'-thiodibenzenethiol diglycidyl ether를 직접합성법으로 합성하였다. 합성된 에폭시 수지가 광경화가 가능하도록 acrylic acid와 반응시켜 광경화형 고굴절 이관능 에폭시 아크릴레이트인 4,4'-thiodibenzenethiol diglycidyl ether diacrylate를 합성하였으며 $^1H$ NMR과 FTIR을 이용하여 화학구조를 확인하였다. 이관능 에폭시 아크릴레이트와 함께 반응성 희석제인 2-phenoxythiol ethyl acrylate를 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 wt% 희석하여 점도와 굴절률과의 상관관계를 확인하였으며 광경화 후 경화필름의 굴절률 변화를 고찰 하였다. 반응성 희석제의 농도가 증가함에 따라 경화물의 경화도가 낮아졌으며, 경화도가 클수록 경화 후 굴절률은 높아지는 경향을 확인하였다.

공공하수처리시설에서 수질오염물질 유입 및 배출 특성 고찰 - 산업폐수 및 매립지 침출수 연계처리 시설을 중심으로 - (A study on characteristics of influent and effluent pollutants in public sewage treatment works combined with industrial wastewater and landfill leachate)

  • In this study, we investigated influent and effluent water pollutants in 53 Public Sewage Treatment Works (PSTWs) where industrial wastewater or landfill leachate is combined four times for two years from 2014 to 2015. Also, we analyzed the characteristics of heavy metals and volatile organic carbons at influent and effluent of these PSTWs caused by sewage treatment combined with industrial wastewater or landfill leachate. As a result, six heavy metals such as barium, copper, iron, manganese, nickel and zinc, and four volatile organic carbons (VOCs) including phenols, di(2-)ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), formaldehyde and toluene were observed above detection limits in most of PSTWs. Also, it was revealed that six heavy metals such as hexavalent chromium, mercury, cadmium, chromium, nickel and selenium, and four VOCs including 1,1-dichloroethylene, vinyl chloride, naphthalene, and epichlorohydrin were observed more frequently according to precipitation. As a result of reviewing the monitoring data on "Water Quality Monitoring Networks" in lower watersheds of PSTWs, both heavy metals and VOCs were below detection limits, indicating that the effluent water had little influence on the watershed. Nevertheless for the better management of influent and effluent pollutants in PSTWs, it is necessary to establish the advanced management plans for water pollutants in PSTWs, which include a list of priority substances management, monitoring plans, and guidelines for industrial wastewater and landfill leachate combined in PSTWs.

Alanine and serine functionalized magnetic nano-based particles for sorption of Nd(III) and Yb(III)

  • Magnetic nano-based sorbents have been synthesized for the recovery of two rare earth elements (REE: Nd(III) and Yb(III)). The magnetic nano-based particles are synthesized by a one-pot hydrothermal procedure involving co-precipitation under thermal conditions of Fe(III) and Fe(II) salts in the presence of chitosan. The composite magnetic/chitosan material is crosslinked with epichlorohydrin and modified by grafting alanine and serine amine-acids. These materials are tested for the binding of Nd(III) (light REE) and Yb(III) (heavy REE) through the study of pH effect, sorption isotherms, uptake kinetics, metal desorption and sorbent recycling. Sorption isotherms are well fitted by the Langmuir equation: the maximum sorption capacities range between 9 and 18 mg REE $g^{-1}$ (at pH 5). The sorption mechanism is endothermic (positive value of ${\Delta}H^{\circ}$) and contributes to increase the randomness of the system (positive value of ${\Delta}S^{\circ}$). The fast uptake kinetics can be described by the pseudo-second order rate equation: the equilibrium is reached within 4 hours of contact. The sub-micron size of sorbent particles strongly reduces the contribution of resistance to intraparticle diffusion in the control of uptake kinetics. Metal desorption using acidified thiourea solutions allows maintaining sorption efficiency for at least four successive cycles with limited loss in sorption capacity.

Characterization of Rhizophora SPP. particleboards with SOY protein isolate modified with NaOH/IA-PAE adhesive for use as phantom material at photon energies of 16.59-25.26 keV

  • In this work, Rhizophora spp. particleboard phantoms were made using SPI-based adhesives, modified with sodium hydroxide and itaconic acid polyamidoamine-epichlorohydrin (0, 5, 10, and 15 wt%). An X-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging system was used to ascertain the CT numbers and density distribution profiles of the particleboards. The SPI-based/NaOH/IA-PAE/Rhizophora spp. particleboard phantoms with 15 wt% IA-PAE addition level had the highest solid content, flexural strength, flexural modulus, and internal bonding strength of 36.06 ± 1.08%, 18.61 ± 0.38 Nmm-2, 7605.76 ± 0.89 Nmm-2, and 0.463 ± 0.053 Nmm-2, respectively. The moisture content, mass density, water absorption, and dimensional stability were 6.93 ± 0.27%, 0.962 ± 0.037 gcm-3, 22.36 ± 2.47%, and 10.90 ± 0.86%, respectively. The results revealed that the mass attenuation coefficients and effective atomic number values within the 16.59-25.26 keV photon energy region, were close to the calculated XCOM values in water, with a p-value of 0.077. Moreover, the CT images showed that the dissimilarities in the discrepancy of the profile density decreased as the IA-PAE concentrations increased. Therefore, these results support the appropriateness of the SPI-based/NaOH/IA-PAE/Rhizophora spp. particleboard with 15 wt% IA-PAE adhesive as a suitable tissue-equivalent phantom material for medical health applications.

  • 국내에서 상수원중의 부유물질 및 용존 유기물질의 제거를 위하여 사용하는 알루미늄계 무기응집제들은 응집처리 과정에서 노인성 치매의 한 원인으로 알려져 있는 알루미늄 이온을 상수원수에 잔류시킬 수 있으며, 상수의 탁도가 일시적으로 매우 높아질 때 효과적인 응집에 한계가 있다. 따라서 이들을 대신한 epichlorohydrine-dimethylamine(EPI-DMA) poly(amine)계 고분자 응집제가 선진국을 중심으로 사용이 되어 왔으며, 우리나라에서도 이것을 도입하기 위한 준비가 필요한 상태에 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 EPI-DMA poly(amine)계 고분자 응집제의 국산화를 위해 EPI와 DMA의 조성비를 달리하거나 또는 반응시간, 반응온도 등의 합성조건을 변화시키면서 이들의 합성조건에 대한 최적화 연구를 수행하여 대량생산을 위한 최적합성 조건을 구하였다. 그리고 이 과정에서 조건을 달리하여 얻은 각각의 고분자 응집제들에 대한 점도를 측정하여 합성 방법에 따른 고분자 응집제의 효율을 조사하였으며, EPI, DCP, DCIPA, 그리고 CPDO 등 유해 잔류물의 양을 Gas Chromatography(GC)에 의해 정량하였다.

Quercetin과 Rutin의 피부 흡수 증진을 위한 셀룰로오스 다공성 하이드로젤 제형 개발 (Development of Porous Cellulose-Hydrogel System for Enhanced Transdermal Delivery of Quercetin and Rutin)

  • 본 연구에서는 항산화제인 quercetin과 그 배당체인 rutin의 피부 흡수를 증진시키기 위한 전달체로 다공성 셀룰로오스 하이드로젤을 제조하였고 그 특성을 연구하였다. Quercetin과 rutin을 위한 최적의 하이드로젤을 가교제인 12% epichlorohydrin(ECH)과 2% 셀룰로오스를 반응용액으로 하여 만들었다. 플라보노이드 함유 하이드로젤의 방출 실험에서, quercetin의 방출은 $10{\sim}500{\mu}M$ 농도에서 확산 속도에 영향을 받았으나, rutin의 경우는 비교적 낮은 농도($10{\sim}50{\mu}M$)에서 하이드로젤의 침식에 의한 방출이 지배적이었다. 플라보노이드에 대한 하이드로젤의 포집효율과 방출량은 quercetin보다도 rutin에서 모두 크게 나타났다. 하지만, Franz diffusion cell을 이용한 피부 투과 실험에서 quercetin이 rutin보다 1.2배나 더 큰 피부 투과능을 나타냈다. 플라보노이드 함유 하이드로젤은 대조군인 20% 1,3-butylene glycol phosphate buffer에서보다도 더 큰 경피 투과능을 나타내었다. 이 결과들은 난용성 항산화제인 플라보노이드의 피부 흡수 증진 전달체로서 셀룰로오스 다공성 하이드로젤이 이용 가능성이 있음을 시사한다.

Effective Use of Orange Juice Residue for Removing Heavy and Radioactive Metals from Environments

  • Large amounts of orange juice are produced in Japan every yea.. Accompanied by the production of orange juice, large amount of juice residues are also generated in nearly the same amounts with juice. Although, at present, some of these residues are marketed as a feed for cattle after drying and mixing with lime, the marketing price is lower than its production cost and the difference is paid by the consumers as a part of the price of orange juice. In the present work, we developed new innovative use of orange juice residue, a biomass waste, as adsorption gel for removing toxic heavy metals such as lead. arsenic, selenium and so on as well as radioactive elements such as uranium and thorium from environments. The major components of orange juice residue are cellulose. hemicellulose and pectin, which are converted into pectic. acid, an acidic polysaccharide, by means of saponification with concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. In the previous work, we found that crosslinked pectic acid gel strongly an selectively adsorbs lead over other metals such as zinc an copper. On the other hand. it is well known that polysaccharides such as cellulose can be easily phosphorylated and that phosphorylated polysaccharides have high affinity to uranium and thorium as well as some trivalent metals such as ferric iron and aluminum. Taking account of the noticeable characteristics of these polysaccharides, 2 types of adsorption gels were prepared from orange juice residue: one is the gel which was prepared by saponificating the residue followed by crosslinking with epichlorohydrin and another is that prepared by crosslinking the residue followed by phosphorylation. The former gel exhibited excellent adsorptive separation behavior for lead away from zinc owing to high content of pectic acid while the latter gel exhibited that for uranium and thorium. Both types of adsorption gels exhibited high affinity to ferric iron, which enables selective and strong adsorption for some toxic oxo-anions of arsenic (V and III), . selenium and so on via iron loaded on these gels. These results demonstrate that biomass wastes such as orange juice residue can be effectively utilized fer the purpose of removing toxic heavy or radioactive metals existing in trace or small amounts in environments.

수용성 폴리아민 내구성 대전방지제의 합성과 그의 특성화 (Synthesis and Characterization of Water-soluble Polyamine Durable Antistatic Agent)

  • 흡습성, 유연성 및 대전방지 효능을 지닌 것으로 알려진 PEG 600과 에퍼클로로히드린을 $BF_3$ 촉매로서 반응시켜 PEG 600-diglycidyl ether(PDE)를 합성하였다. 다음 PDE에 높은 전도성의 지방족 아민이며 경화제인 트리에틸렌테트라민으로서 공반응시켜 수용성인 긴 사슬의 폴리아민(PDET)을 얻고, PDET의 겔화방지와 수용액 안정성을 좋게 하기 위하여 아세트산프로 양이온화시켜 수용성의 제4급 암모늄 폴리아민(PDETA)을 합성하였다. 위에서 각각 합성된 PDET-2, -5, -6과 PDETA-2, -4에 각각 물을 첨가하여 대전방지제 PDET-2A, -5A, -6A, PDETA-2A, -4A를 제조하였다. 제조된 대전방지제를 PET 직물에 단독 혹은 수지병용으로 처리한 후 세탁횟수에 따른 표면전기저항과 반감기 특성의 시험결과, PDETA-2A와 -4A는 50회 세탁 후에도 대전방지 성능에 큰 변화가 없어서 내구성 대전방지제임을 확인하였다. 또한 세탁전의 표면전기저항 간이 각각 $1{\times}10^7{\Omega}$, $2{\times}10^7{\Omega}$이었고, 반감기 특성값은 0.8초와 1.1초로 나타나 양호한 대전방지제임이 입증되었다.
