캡슐화된 소화약제의 물성에 대한 고분자 매트릭스의 효과 (The Effect of Epoxy Resin on the Properties of Encapsulated Fire Extinguishing Agent)

  • 저점도 에폭시 수지(EP)를 기본으로하고 캡슐화된 소화약제(EFA)를 50 wt%의 함유한 소화복합재료가 얻어졌다. 탈캡슐화된 EFA의 동역학 및 온도에 대한 EP의 긍정적인 효과가 확립되었다. EP는 EFA의 탈캡슐화 온도를 130 ℃에서 155 ℃로 증가시키고 캡슐화의 역학을 변화시킨다. 에폭시 매트릭스는 순수한 EFA와 비교하여 EFA의 열 안정성을 3.9배 이상 증가시킨다. EFA의 저장 안정성에 대한 EP의 보호 효과가 발견되었다. 60 ℃ 및 80% 습도에서 96시간 동안 EFA를 함유하는 EP의 질량 손실은 0.4%이고, 동일한 조건에서 순수한 EFA의 질량 손실은 15%이다. 자외선의 영향 아래에서 EP의 동일한 효과: 순수한 EFA가 6%인 경우 EFA를 함유한 EP는 0.8% 손실된다. 대안의 중합체 매트릭스의 시험이 고려되었다.

Immune Responses to Plant-Derived Recombinant Colorectal Cancer Glycoprotein EpCAM-FcK Fusion Protein in Mice

  • Epidermal cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) is a tumor-associated antigen (TAA), which has been considered as a cancer vaccine candidate. The EpCAM protein fused to the fragment crystallizable region of immunoglobulin G (IgG) tagged with KDEL endoplasmic reticulum (ER) retention signal (EpCAM-FcK) has been successfully expressed in transgenic tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum cv. Xanthi) and purified from the plant leaf. In this study, we investigated the ability of the plant-derived EpCAM-FcK (EpCAM-FcKP) to elicit an immune response in vivo. The animal group injected with the EpCAM-FcKP showed a higher differentiated germinal center (GC) B cell population (~9%) compared with the animal group injected with the recombinant rhEpCAM-Fc chimera (EpCAM-FcM). The animal group injected with EpCAM-FcKP (~42%) had more differentiated T follicular helper cells (Tfh) than the animal group injected with EpCAM-FcM (~7%). This study demonstrated that the plant-derived EpCAM-FcK fusion antigenic protein induced a humoral immune response in mice.

가시파래(Enteromorpha prolifera)가 첨가된 막걸리의 품질 특성 및 항산화 활성 (Effect of Enteromorpha prolifera on Quality Characteristics and Antioxidants Activities of the Makgeolli (Korean Traditional Rice-Based Wine))

  • The objective of the current study was to evaluate the quality characteristics (alcohol contents and antioxidant capacities) and sensory characteristics of the Korean traditional rice-based wine, Makgeolli supplemented with 5% and 10% Enteromorpha prolifera (Ep) during an 8-days cold storage at 4℃. The alcohol content in the unsupplemented Makgeolli (control) and Ep Makgeolli gradually increased from day 0 to day 8 (control, 2.05-8.03; 5% Ep, 2.15-9.03; 10% Ep, 3.15-10.07). The DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activities was significantly higher in the 10% Ep Makgeolli (75.87%) than 5% Ep Makgeolli (57.34%) and control (21.91%). The ABTS [2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)] radical scavenging activities were also significantly higher in the 10% Ep Makgeolli (90.85%) than 5% Ep Makgeolli (75.94%) and control (47.21%). Makgeolli supplemented with 10% Ep had the highest color, smell, taste, and overall acceptance scores. The current study suggest that Makgeolli supplemented with 10% Ep could be potentially developed because of its high antioxidant properties and good consumer acceptance.

전해-자기 복합 가공을 이용한 마이크로 채널 디버링공정 최적화 (A Study on the Optimization of Deburring Process for the Micro Channel using EP-MAP Hybrid Process)

  • Magnetic abrasive polishing is one of the most promising finishing methods applicable to complex surfaces. Nevertheless this process has a low efficiency when applied to very hardened materials. For this reason, EP-MAP hybrid process was developed. EP-MAP process is expected to machine complex and hardened materials. In this research, deburring process using EP-MAP hybrid process was proposed. EP-MAP deburring process is applied to micro channel, thereby it can obtain both deburring process and polishing process. EP-MAP deburring process on the micro channel was performed. Through design of experiment method, error of height in this process according to process parameter is analyzed. When the level 1 parameter A(magnetic flux density) and level 2 parameter B(electric potential), C(working gap) and level 3 parameter D(feed rate) are applied in the deburring process using EP-MAP hybrid process, it provides optimum result of EP-MAP hybrid deburring process.

습사료와 부상사료에 대한 강도다리(Platichthys stellatus)의 성장과 소화 특성 (Growth Performance and Digestive Characteristics of Starry Flounder Platichthys stellatus on the Moist and Extruded Pellets)

  • A study was carried out to observe the effects of feed types on the growth, feed preference, and enteric feed transition rate of juvenile starry flounder, Platichthys stellatus for 45 days. Fifty fish (avg. 135 g) were stocked each in replication, and fed a commercial extruded pellet diet (EP, 45% protein) and a moist pellet diet (MP, 65% raw mackerel+35% feed powder in wet basis), respectively. The MP presented the higher performance than that of the EP on the feed efficiency ($68.3{\pm}0.9%$ for EP and $92.3{\pm}4.3%$ for MP) and the specific growth rate ($1.07{\pm}0.07$ for the EP and $1.20{\pm}0.05%$ for the MP). In contrast, the EP showed the higher feed preference in terms of the daily feed intake ($1.57{\pm}0.08%$ for the EP and $1.30{\pm}0.01$ for the MP) and the ad libitum feeding rate after a fast of 72 hours (1.73% for the EP and 1.35% for the MP). The feed transition rate through intestinal canals decreased exponentially in both the EP and the MP, showing the faster transition rate with the EP. In the result, starry flounder appeared to have the better feed preference to the EP, but have the higher feed efficiency and growth performance to the MP.

Improved Thermal Conductivities of Epoxy Resins Containing Surface Functionalized BN Nanosheets

  • The hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets (BN) were firstly treated by silane coupling agents 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (KH550) and 3-glycidoxypropyl-trimethoxysilane (KH560) to introduce some amino and epoxy (EP) groups on the BN surface. These modified BN nanosheets were incorporated into an EP matrix to prepare BN@KH560/EP composites with excellent thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties. Results showed that the thermal conductivity of BN@KH560/EP composite with 20 vol% BN dosage was found to be 0.442 W/($m{\cdot}K$), which was 81% higher than that of pure EP resin. Both BN/EP composites treated by KH550 and KH560 showed rather good electrical insulation properties, although the dielectric constant of BN@KH550/EP composites were slightly higher than BN@KH560/EP composites. Moreover, BN@KH560/EP composites also showed better thermal and mechanical properties than that of BN@KH550/EP composites.

부상 건조사료(EP) 습사료(MP)의 만복 및 제한 공급이 넙치 치어의 성장 및 체조성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Extruded and Moist Pellets at Different Feeding Rate on Growth and Body Composition of Juvenile Flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus)

  • 본 연구는 부상 건조사료와 습사료의 효능을 비교함과 동시에 이들 사료의 적정 공급률(만복 및 제한 공급)을 조사하기 위해 수행되었다 평균 체중 27 g의 넙치를 각 수조마다 500 마리씩 2반복으로 수용하여 부상 건조사료(EP1과 EP2)와 넙치용 분말사료(우성 사료)와 냉동 전갱이를 1:3의 무게 비율(습중량 기준)로 혼합하여 성형한 moist pellet (MP)을 만복 및 만복의 $85\%$로 공급하면서 10주간 사육하였다. 생존율은 모든 실험구에서 $94\%$ 이상이었으며, 증중량은 EP2를 만복 공급한 실험구가 가장 높았지만, EP1을 만복 공급한 실험구와 MP를 만복 및 제한 공급한 실험구들과는 유의한 차이가 없었다(P>0.05). 사료효율은 EPI과 EP2를 제한으로 공급한 실험구가 가장 높은 결과를 보였으며(P<0.05),동일한 사료 공급률에 있어 MP를 공급한 실험구가 EP1과 EP2를 공급한 실험구에 비해 유의적으로 낮은 결과를 보였다(P<0.05). 일일사료섭취율은 만복 및 제한 공급구 각각에서 MP를 공급한 실험구가 EP1 및 EP2을 공급한 실험구보다 유의하게 높았다(P<0.05). 단백질효율은 만복 및 제한 공급에 관계없이 MP를 공급한 실험구가 EPI 및 EP2를 공급한 실험구보다 유의하게 낮았다(P<0.05). 에너지 축적효율은 사료종류 및 공급률에 영향을 받지 않았다(P>0.05). 전어체의 수분, 단백질 및 회분의 함량은 모든 실험구에서 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 반면에 지질의 함량은 EP2와 MP의 만복 공급구에서 가장 높았고, EP1의 만복 공급구에서 가장 낮은 값을 보였다. 본 실험의 결과로부터, 본 연구에 사용된 EP 사료들은 현재 양식현장에서 사용하고 있는 생사료를 대체할 수 있을 것으로 생각되며, 사료는 만복으로 공급되는 것이 좋을 것으로 판단된다.

배합사료로 장기간 사육된 넙치의 육질평가 (Long-term Evaluation of Muscle Quality of the Olive Flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus, Fed with Extruded Pellet)

  • 이 연구는 실용 배합사료를 자체 제작한 기존의 배합사료, 상품사료 및 습사료를 장기간 걸쳐 사육한 넙치에 대해 육질을 평가하기 위해 수행하였다. 실험어는 13개월간 사육한 넙치 성어기(600 g 전후) 대상으로 수행하였으며, 실험사료는 시험사료(EP1 및 EP2) 2종, 상품사료(CEP) 및 습사료(MP)를 공급하였다. 전어체의 성분분석은 조단백질은 EP2가 EP1 및 CEP 사료구 보다 유의적으로 높게 나타났으며, 조지방은 EP2 및 MP 사료구가 CEP 사료구와 비교하여 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 근육내 유리아미노산의 성분분석은 EP사료구간에서 MP 사료구보다 proline, glycine, alanine 함량이 높게 나타났으며, taurine에 있어서 EP1 사료구가 다른 사료구와 비교하여 높은 경향을 보였다. 핵산 관련물질 성분분석은 ATP 및 IMP의 양에서 배합사료에서 습사료보다 높은 값을 보였으며, 특히 EP2에서 다른 사료구와 비교하여 높은 값을 보였다. 관능검사는 향, 외관, 맛에 있어서 EP 사료구와 MP 사료구가 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다(P>0.05). 전반적인 기호도에 있어 EP2가 다른 사료구들보다 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 물리적 성질의 경도 측정은 EP2는 EP1 및 CEP 사료구와 비교하여 높게 나타났으며, 탄력성과 응집성은 모든 사료구에서 차이를 보이지 않았다. 상기 결과를 토대로 그동안 배합사료를 넙치에 공급한 연구 결과를 고려하였을 때, 생사료를 공급한 넙치에 비해 품질이 결코 떨어지지 않으며, 오히려 배합사료를 공급한 양식산 넙치가 체계적인 관리 하에 앞으로 품질향상을 더 높일 수 있을 것이다.

Effects of Ethyl Pyruvate on Allodynia, TNF-${\alpha}$ Expression, and Apoptosis in the Dorsal Root Ganglion after Spinal Nerve Ligation Injury

  • Background: It has been demonstrated that the expression of tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$ (TNF-${\alpha}$) and apoptotic cell death in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) following spinal nerve constriction injury play a role in the initiation and continuation of hyperalgesia and allodynia. The present study was designed to investigate the effects of ethyl pyruvate (EP) on mechanical and cold allodynia, TNF-${\alpha}$ expression, and apoptosis in DRG after spinal nerve ligation injury. Methods: Rats were divided into 3 groups: control, pre-EP, and post-EP. EP (50 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally injected 30 minutes before (pre-EP) or after (post-EP) surgery. Behavioral tests to determine mechanical and cold allodynia were conducted before surgery and 4 and 7 days after surgery. Seven days after surgery, TNF-${\alpha}$ protein levels in DRG were evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and DRG apoptosis was determined by immunohistochemical detection of activated caspase-3. Results: Treatment with EP significantly reduced mechanical and cold allodynia following spinal nerve ligation injury. TNF-${\alpha}$ protein levels in the pre-EP ($4.7{\pm}1.2$ pg/200 ${\mu}g$; P < 0.001) and post-EP ($6.4{\pm}1.8$ pg/200 ${\mu}g$; P < 0.001) groups were 2-3 times lower than the control group ($14.4{\pm}1.2$ pg/200 ${\mu}g$). The percentages of neurons and satellite cells that co-localized with caspase-3 were also significantly lower in the pre-EP and post-EP groups than the control group. Conclusions: These results demonstrate that EP has a strong anti-allodynic effect that acts through the inhibition of TNF-${\alpha}$ expression and apoptosis in DRG after spinal nerve ligation injury.

Antioxidant Activities of Eggplant (Solanum melongena) Powder with Different Drying Methods and Addition Levels to Pork Sausages

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate antioxidant activities of eggplant (EP) powder with different drying methods and addition levels to pork sausages to improve product quality. Antioxidant activities of EP with different drying methods, particle sizes, and solvents of extraction were determined. Freeze dried (FD) EP extracted with 100% ethanol had higher 2,2-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging activities (DPPH-RSA) and total phenolic content (TPC) values than other drying methods. FD500 had the highest iron chelating ability (ICA) value. Oven-dried (OD) EP at 60℃ had the highest reducing power. Dried EP was added to sausages of six groups: control without EP, reference added with ascorbic acid, O1 and O2 added with 0.25% and 0.5% OD EP, respectively, and F1 and F2 added with 0.25% and 0.5% FD EP, respectively. Pork sausages added with O2 had the lowest TBARS and TPC values. These values increased during storage. Purge loss (%), lightness (L*), and redness (a*) values of F2 were lower than those of other groups, whereas sausages containing F2 had the highest yellowness (b*). pH values of sausages added with EP were increased regardless of the level of EP added. Hardness values of F2 were higher. However, there were no significant differences in other textural characteristics. Sausages added with EP had higher moisture and protein contents (%), but lower fat contents (%). These results indicate that EP powder could be used to retard lipid oxidation and inhibit microbial counts during storage time.
