Nowadays, the increasing demands upon mobile devices such as wireless sensor networks and the recent advent of low power electrical devices such as MEMS make such renewable power sources attractive. A vibration-driven MEMS lead zirconate titanate $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ (PZT) cantilever device is developed for energy harvesting application. This paper presents a piezoelectric based energy harvester which is suitable for power generating from conventional vibration and has in providing energy for low power electron ic devices. The PZT cantilever is used d33 mode to get the electrical power. The PZT cantilever based energy harvester with the dimension of 7 mm${\times}$3 mm${\times}$0.03 mm is fabricated using micromachining technologies. This PZT cantilever has the mechanical resonance frequency with a 900 Hz. With these conditions, we get experimentally the 37 uW output power from this device with the application of 1g acceleration using the 900 Hz vibration. From this study, we show the feasibility of one of energy harvesting candidates using PZT based structure. This PZT energy harvester could be used for various applications such a batteryless micro sensors and micro power generators.

EquiMar (Equitable Testing and Evaluation of Marine Energy Extraction Devices in terms of Performance, Cost and Environmental Impact) is one of the first round of energy projects under the European Commissions 7th Framework Programme (FP7). The three year EquiMar project aims to deliver a suite of protocols for the evaluation of both wave and tidal converters, harmonizing testing and evaluation procedures across the wide range of available devices, accelerating adoption through technology matching and improving the understanding of both environmental and economic impacts associated with the deployment of devices. The EquiMar protocols will cover site selection, initial design, scaling up of designs, the deployment of arrays and environmental impact assessment as well as economic issues. EquiMar will build on existing protocols, e.g. UK DTI Marine Renewables Development Fund (MRDF) protocols for wave and tidal energy, and engage with international standards setting activities, e.g. IEC TC114.

The color shifting from yellow to green of electroluminescent emission from ZnS: Cu alternating current thick film electroluminescent (ACTFEL) devices has been achieved by changing the Mg composition in the phosphor layers. The commission international de l'Eclairge (CIE) color co-ordinates of the ACTFEL devices prepared from these phosphor layers show a shifting from yellow (x=0.45, y=0.52) towards green (x=0.36, y=0.58). The various parameters influencing the emission intensity were also investigated.
In this letter, we study the impact of single event upsets (SEUs) in space or defense electronic systems which use memory devices such as EEPROM, and SRAM. We built a microcontroller test board to measure the effects of protons on electronic devices at various radiation levels. We tested radiation hardening at beam current, and energy levels, measured the phenomenon of SEUs, and addressed possible reasons for SEUs.
In order to improve the capability of magnetic circuit, magnetic materials are used for all kinds of electromagnetic energy-conversion devices. This paper presents the analysis method considering magnetic properties of the magnetic material and analyzes that the effects of magnetic materials. In addition, it is described that the requirements of magnetic materials for the improvement of electric machines. Several application examples using a metal powder in electromagnetic energy conversion devices is introduced.

6G network technology represents the next generation of communications, supporting high-speed connectivity, ultra-low latency, and integration with cutting-edge technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality, and autonomous vehicles. These advancements promise to drive transformative changes in digital society. However, as technology progresses, the demand for efficient data transmission and energy management between smart devices and network equipment also intensifies. A significant challenge within 6G networks is the optimization of interactions between satellites and smart devices. This study addresses this issue by introducing a new game theory-based technique aimed at minimizing system-wide energy consumption and latency. The proposed technique reduces the processing load on smart devices and optimizes the offloading decision ratio to effectively utilize the resources of Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed technique achieves a 30% reduction in energy consumption and a 40% improvement in latency compared to existing methods, thereby significantly enhancing performance.
Novel mechanisms for Energy Recovery Devices are proposed to diminish the pressure loss in the high-pressure reverse-osmosis system. In the beginning, the state-of-the-art in the design of Energy Recovery Devices is reviewed and the features of each model are investigated. The direct-coupled axial piston pump(APP) and axial piston motor(APM) showed 39% energy recovery at operating pressure of reverse osmosis desalination systems, 60 bar. Meanwhile, the developed PM2D model, in which APM pistons are arranged parallel to those of APP, is more compact and showed higher efficiency in a preliminary test. Loss-reduction mechanisms employing rod piston and double raw valve port are additionally proposed to enhance the efficiency and durability of the device.
This paper describes a strategy of a daily optimal operational scheduling on the industrial cogeneration system. The cogeneration system selected to establish the scheduling consists of three units and several auxiliary devices which include three auxiliary boilers, t재 waste boilers and three sludge incinerators. One unit generated electrical and thermal energy using the back pressure turbine. The other two units generate the energy using the extraction condensing turbine. Three auxiliary devices operate to supply energy to the loads with three units. The cogeneration system is able to supply enough the thermal energy to the thermal load, however it can not sufficiently supply the electric energy to the electrical load. Therefore the insufficient electric energy is compensated by buying electrical energy from utility. In this paper, the evolutionary algorithms was applied to establish the optimal scheduling for the cogeneration systems. Also the GUI System was developed using established mathematics medeling and evolutionary algorithms in order that non-experts are able to establish operational scheduling. This results revel that the proposed modeling and strategy can be effectively applied to cogeneration system for paper mill.
