A Study on Urban Energy Consumption Estimation based on E-GIS DB (E-GIS DB를 활용한 도시에너지 수요예측 방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggested improved energy consumption algorithm at the point of (1)facility planning information DB, (2)energy and planning statistics DB, (3)accuracy of energy consumption calculation which concerns urban energy consumption. The results of this study were as follows. Urban energy consumption was estimated and managed per unit space using E-GIS DB which contains facility information per mesh. The level of urban planning energy was made varied as timely, energy load, and energy resources linking with energy simulations and world energy consumption unit. Urban energy consumption was reflected by the urban facility classified and standardized by the characteristics of energy use. Calculation accuracy of energy consumption was reached by separately suggested as summer algorithm reflecting urban heat island on summer energy use and winter algorithm reflecting heating system normally used in Korea. UCSS based 'Energy Consumption Algorithm for Cooling Season' and SimHeat based 'Energy Consumption Algorithm for Heating Season' were suggested for calculating energy consumption with high accuracy. Urban Energy Consumption Algorithm was systemized with 'Energy Consumption Units', statistic values of urban energy consuming facility linked with planning information of E-GIS DB, which is possible to calculate 8760 hours of heat and electricity consumption per year.

A Study on the Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emission of the Detached Houses in Daegu (대구광역시 단독주택의 에너지 및 온실가스 배출원단위 작성에 관한 연구)

  • In the energy consumption of buildings in Korea, the housing sector accounts for 53% of a total energy consumption. Although the researches of energy consumption on the new detached houses and apartment houses have been conducted numerous times, the researches of energy consumption characteristics on the existing detached houses are lack of studies. Thus in this study, the actual condition of energy consumption characteristics on the existing detached houses in Daegu city was examined, and then energy consumption unit and green house gas emission unit was compiled to present a fundamental data for an effective way of reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission in the buildings. The results showed that the energy consumption for heating in the existing detached house was greater than other energy consumption and the heating energy sources were city gas and fuel oil. As the fuel oil consumption got larger, the energy consumption unit and greenhouse gas emission unit became bigger. Based on these results, it will be able to develop a plan for reducing energy and greenhouse gas emission in the existing detached houses in the future.

  • In 2009, The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, Korea opens apartment maintenance fee to public in "Apartment Management Info System". The high energy consumption component of apartment, which is hot water, water, electricity and heating, is released to public on this system. Through this system, apartment energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions data can be compiled and expected to be accurately analyzed. Energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions statistics of the apartment are collected being made to reduce energy and gas emissions. However, The accurate survey of energy consumption trends have not been accomplished. The energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions survey in Apartment should be made first in order to reduce energy consumption. and then the correlation factors analysis which is affecting energy consumption is required. The purpose of this study is to analyze energy consumption characteristics of apartment in Bundann-gu, Seongnam, Korea in monthly, unit area and building built year basis. And then the research can be used as the basis of policy to Reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the reduction of energy consumption and demand level for education relating to the reduction of energy consumption by middle school students. First, the perception of the reduction of energy consumption had a significant relationship with sex and grade. Second, the demand level for education relating to the reduction of energy consumption showed a significant relationship with only sex. Third, regression analysis on the influence of perception of the reduction of energy consumption showed a correlation between theperception of a reduction of energy consumption and the demand level for education relating to a reduction of energy consumption. The research suggests that students want an education that reduces energy consumption at school implemented during experience-centered and activity-centered discretionary activities, rather than duringtheory-centered curricular activities. It also suggests that overcoming limitations of space, that is, implementation of such education at various places besides school, and the application of teaching and teaming methods which use the internet and image media are more effective for education for the reduction of energy consumption.

  • As the price of traditional fossil fuels continue to increase, more people attach importance to the pollution of the environment caused by fossil fuel's burning, developing and using renewable energy resources has become a very important project all over the world. Also, the rural energy planning which is another method to improve energy utilization ratio and reduce environment pollution, is also regarded as a very effective way to reduce the energy consumption. There is a quantity of renewable energy resources and natural tribes in rural area, which is both feasible to develop the renewable energy and the regional energy planning. To carry out this, it is needs to know the area's quantity of renewable energy resources and the total energy consumption. This paper is to find out the relationship between rural energy consumption and rural conditions, and to found a energy consumption model which can conjecture the energy consumption in rural family. and the cost of rural family's energy consumption was founded to conjecture how much money dose it cost in rural family's energy consumption. The energy consumption model was concluded using the surveys of 76 families in 14 villages at the area of Chungcheongbuk-Do(province). The main factors to energy consumption was selected out which were number of family members, acreage of house, acreage of farmland and family's annual income.

  • The goal of this study is to analyze the impact of load factors on building energy consumption by using EnergyPlus program. We selected a campus building and monitored energy consumption from January 2009 to November 2010. First, we simulated energy consumption basically with weather data, building heat gain and EHP performance data. And then we simulated energy consumption with three additional parameter(infiltration, OA control and schedule). Simulation results are verified by MBE and Cv(RMSE) proposed by M&V guideline 3.0. Simulated total energy consumption was 104.3% of measurements, 4.33% of MBE, and 13.62% of Cv(RMSE). Results show infiltration and schedule were revealed as the most dominant factor of heating energy consumption and of cooling energy consumption, respectively.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of various factors on energy consumption of apartment buildings. Energy consumption data of the Green Together, integrated building energy management system maintained by the government were used, and end-use and primary energy consumption data of 2012 were analyzed for 181 apartment complexes completed between 2004 and 2011 in Seoul. Energy consumption by use, source and heating type were analyzed. Then, energy consumption trends were analyzed and suggested according to energy efficiency ratings, number of households, areas for exclusive use, number of floors, core types, building types, orientations and completion years.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a fundamental data for reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission of detached houses by investigating the energy consumption characteristic of detached houses in Daegu. Although the ratio of the detached houses decreases, the detached houses are common dwelling form next to apartments. Nevertheless the study about the energy consumption of detached houses has been insufficient compared apartments. There is a necessity which will investigate the energy consumption characteristic of detached houses. Because that with the building quality which is various form is different from apartments. This study investigate construction and equipment conditions and analyzing effective factors on energy consumption of detached houses. And this study draw up the energy consumption unit and emission factors unit for greenhouse gas of detached houses. This study represent a basic report for energy consumption reduction and helps effective use of energy.

  • In Korea, industrial sector take up highest of value 56.0%, transportation sector 22.8% and residential sector 11.9% of a total energy consumption. Due to abnormal temperatures the residential sector is showing a high growth rate of energy consumption increased demand for air conditioning in 2010. As a result, we have suffered from a power shortage, energy saving of the residential sector has been highlighted until now. Index decomposition analysis is a methodology that decomposes the change of energy consumption level into activity effect, structure effect, and intensity effect. It could be applied to energy demand and gas emission. This method has been used to conduct energy consumption analysis on manufacturing and industrial sectors to establish and evaluate the energy policies. This study decomposed the change of energy consumption level in Korean Residential sector from 1990 to 2010 applying Index decomposition methods: LMDI. Analysis showed energy consumption of residential sector increased by annual average 2.2% for 20years and the biggest increase in energy consumption was due to the number of households. In the late 2000s, structure effect of residential showed up by annual average 1.6% as residential structure changed into excessive consuming type of energy sources, and also energy intensity has been improved from 14% to -2.2 %.

  • In the world, the energy consumption tends to be continuously increasing. If such situation is continued, it is obvious that we will encounter a serious crisis which is the energy depletion in the near future. In order to prevent this crisis in advance, it is necessary to put efforts in diversifying energy sources from the existing fossil fuel to renewable energy, and also reducing energy consumption. The total energy consumption of Korea in 2011 was 275.7 million TOE, increased 4.5% compared with the previous year. Considering the consumption structure for each energy consumption sector, the energy consumed in the building sector is more than 20% of the total. Among them, the energy consumption of university building sector is continuously increasing while the energy efficiency per unit area is gradually decreasing. In order for energy reduction of university buildings that accounts for 13.6% of the energy consumption for domestic building sector, this study aims to suggest the application measures of efficient renewable energy source with the same initial investment cost to reduce power consumption which is the main energy source for university buildings, by analyzing the current condition of energy consumption and energy consumption structure for university buildings.
