Knives are most frequently used as weapons in violent crimes. Criminals leave behind knife sheaths made of paper and tape at crime scenes. It is difficult to develop fingerprints using tape attached to a porous surface, resulting in the need to explore effective techniques for identifying fingerprints as well as the distribution of fingerprints on each surface, when evidence such as paper knife sheaths are found. In this study, 50 knife sheaths were prepared. The cyanoacrylate fuming (CA fuming) method was applied to develop fingerprints on the non-adhesive side of the tape, and a dual-purpose 1,2-indanedione/Zn (1,2-IND/Zn) reagent was used to separate tape from paper while simultaneously developing fingerprints on the paper. The fingerprints on the adhesive side of the tape were developed using Wet Powder Black®. Using the R statistical analysis program (The R Foundation for Statistical Computing), we used a heat map to indicate the location of fingerprints developed from each surface. More fingerprints were detected at the ends than in the center of the adhesive side of the tape, and although the non-adhesive sides of tape and paper did not present clear distribution patterns, many fingerprints were developed that had sufficient clarity for personal identification. The results of this study may be applicable for processing evidence when paper sheaths are found at crime scenes.

In this paper, a novel small-diameter cylindrical post capacitor inserted into an evanescent-mode rectangular waveguide (EMRWG) is proposed for easier tuning. In order to feed the EMRWG, the proposed structure uses a single ridge rectangular waveguide with the same width and height as the waveguide at the input and output ends. The inserted post capacitor are made up a circular groove formed in the center of the lower part of the broad wall of the EMRWG, and a concentric cylindrical post inserted into the upper part. First, the equivalent circuit model for the proposed structure is presented. When the EMRWG and the single ridge waveguide are combined, the joint susceptance and the turns ratio of the ideal transformer are calculated by two simulations using HFSS (3d fullwave simulator, Ansoft Co.) respectively. The susceptance and resonance characteristics of the inserted post were analyzed by using the obtained parameters and the characteristics of the EMRWG. A 2-post filter with a center frequency of 4.5 GHz and a bandwidth of 170 MHz was designed using a WR-90 waveguide, and the simulation results by using the HFSS and CST, equivalent circuit model were in good agreement.
Since air pollution has become a global issue to be managed, the Republic of Korea (ROC) is protecting air quality by predicting the air condition before a construction project starts through EnvironmentalImpact Assessment (EIA) and measuring the air condition afterwards the construction project ends through Post-environmental Impact Assessment (PEIA). The aim of this study consists on verifying the predicted and measured concentration data and analyzing their consistency in order to deduce improvement directions. Linear EIA projects which the investigation during operation period have been concluded between years 2017 and 2019 were used. As a result, the following improvement directions were suggested: reduction of EIA air quality standards, strengthen the management of projects with construction duration longer than 5 years, incorporation of first or second quarter (winter or spring) into the investigation period, consideration of construction equipment or conditions for better prediction. The strength of this study is that we arranged and utilized EIA predicted and PEIA measured data to understand the present EIA procedure and made meaningful suggestions through the consistency analysis contributing to air quality maintenance and investigation methodology enhancement.
In preclinical positron emisson tomography(PET), spatial resolution degradation occurs outside the field of view(FOV). To solve this problem, a depth of interaction(DOI) detector was developed that measures the position where gamma rays and the scintillator interact. There are a method in which a scintillation pixel array is composed of multiple layers, a method in which photosensors are arranged at both ends of a single layer, a method in which a scintillation pixel array is constituted in several layers and a photosensor is arranged in each layer. In this study, a new type of DOI detector was designed by analyzing the characteristics of the previously developed detectors. In the two-layer detector, different sizes of scintillation pixels were used for each layer, and the array size was configured differently. When configured in this form, the positions of the scintillation pixels for each layer are arranged to be shifted from each other, so that they are imaged at different positions in a flood image. DETECT2000 simulation was performed to confirm the possibility of measuring the depth of interaction of the designed detector. A flood image was reconstructed from a light signal acquired by a gamma-ray event generated at the center of each scintillation pixel. As a result, it was confirmed that all scintillation pixels for each layer were separated from the reconstructed flood image and imaged to measure the interaction depth. When this detector is applied to preclinical PET, it is considered that excellent images can be obtained by improving spatial resolution.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the hepatoprotective effect of Hovenia dulcis extract on acute and chronic liver injuries induced by alcohol and $CCl_4$ in mice and rats. Methods : In acute alcohol-induced liver injury, mice were administered Hovenia dulcis extracts (60 and 200 mg/kg) orally before and after alcohol administration. In chronic alcohol-induced liver injury, mice were administered alcohol containing liquid diet for 4 weeks. The mice were administered H. dulcis extracts (60 and 200 mg/kg) mixed with the liquid diet. In acute $CCl_4$-induced liver injury, rats received a single dose of $CCl_4$ (2 mL/kg in olive oil, intraperitoneally). Rats were administered H. dulcis extracts (30, 100 and 300 mg/kg) before and after $CCl_4$ administrations. After the ends of the administrations, the serum levels of AST and ALT were measured using chemical analyzer, and ${\gamma}$-GTP levels were measured using spectrophotometer. Results : In acute alcohol-induced liver injury, H. dulcis extracts treated group showed significant reduction in ALT levels compared to those of control group. In chronic alcohol-induced liver injury, it inhibited weight-loss compared to normal group and showed significant reduction in AST, ALT and ${\gamma}$-GTP levels compared to control group. In acute $CCl_4$-induced liver injury, it also showed significant reduction in AST, ALT levels compared to control group. Conclusions : The results show that H. dulcis extract has hepatoprotective effect in acute and chronic alcohol-induced liver injury and acute $CCl_4$-induced liver injury. These findings suggest that H. dulcis could be a potent hepatoprotective agent.
Korean typefaces are characterized on two axes: a font is either serifed or non-serifed, and it is either square-frame or non-squared. A serifed font entails small strokes that are regularly attached to the ends of larger strokes. Conversely, fonts without these marks are termed sans-serif. One of the exclusive features of Korean typeface of the square-frame type is that in such fonts, vowels and consonants often with their final vowels, are harmonically placed within the boundaries of the virtual square. We hypothesize that serifed and squared-frame typefaces are more popular and preferred owing to their widespread use throughout history. A survey incorporating Korean pangrams written with serif, sans-serif, squared, and non-squared typefaces was designed to test the present hypothesis. We found that people typically preferred and were more familiar with squared typefaces compared to non-squared typefaces. However, no difference was observed between serifed and san-serif typefaces. Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between familiarity and preference ratings only where the typefaces had squared and serifed features. The results revealed that Korean typefaces with the squared feature were more well-known and, therefore, more preferred to the typefaces without it. The results further indicated that Korean typefaces with the squared feature can be recommended for people's familiarity to it and the comfort it provides, and their emotional relevance and sensibility enhanced if serifs are added.
Hahoebyeolsingut Talnori, which is under permanent performance, has lost its relevance to folklore and rituals of the villagers and has secured the possibility of change depending on the actor's choice. This article seeks to expand the current stuck performance of Hahoe mask play, which has great significance as a play and play for the audience. To this end, We studied the possibility of expanding the performance of Hahoe Talnori by trans-identity of the Choragi. Chorangi character derides yangban, seonbi and monk, who are representatives of the establishment. We transformed Chorangi who is clever but cannot overcome the limits of his status, into a character with a sense of transformation by applying the method of turnning identity and changing identity of the theory of trans-identity. And I applied the method of expansion of the media conversion storytelling theory to create a new Chorangi Madang that conforms to the audience's needs and the spirit of the times. In addition to the performance of Yangban Seonbi Madang(Act of Nobleman and Scholar) which ends with an ambiguous reconciliation, we wanted to complete it in a way that even today's audiences could accept by applying the function of the Hahoebyeolsingut Talnori ambassador and the principle of implementation. And We writed it in a script. This article is meant to be an experimental study that attempted to transform traditional performing arts in the context of new creation of tradition. Preservation and transmission of traditional performing arts are important, but it is necessary to move forward according to the trend and spirit of the times.
As the use of lithium-ion secondary batteries is rapidly increasing due to the rapid growth of the electric vehicle market, the disposal and recycling of spent batteries after use has been raised as a serious problem. Since stored energy must be removed in order to recycle the spent batteries, an effective discharging process is required. In this study, graphite and NCM622 were used as active materials to manufacture coin-type half cells and full cells, and the electrochemical behavior occurring during overdischarge was analyzed. When the positive and negative electrodes are overdischarged respectively using a half-cell, a conversion reaction in which transition metal oxide is reduced to metal occurs first in the positive electrode, and a side reaction in which Cu, the current collector, is corroded following decomposition of the SEI film occurs in the negative electrode. In addition, a side reaction during overdischarge is difficult to occur because a large polarization at the initial stage is required. When the full cell is overdischarged, the cell reaches 0 V and the overdischarge ends with almost no side reaction due to this large polarization. However, if the full cell whose capacity is degraded due to the cycle is overdischarged, corrosion of the Cu current collector occurs in the negative electrode. Therefore, cycled cell requires an appropriate treatment process because its electrochemical behavior during overdischarge is different from that of a fresh cell.

Both ends of the hoop reinforcement in the reinforced concrete (RC) columns subjected to lateral loading must necessarily be bent by 135° so as to ensure a sufficient level of ductility. However, as this reinforcement is extremely difficult to construct, this requirement is often not satisfied at construction sites. This study entailed an experimental investigation on RC columns subjected to cyclic lateral loading equipped with steel clip-type implements that were developed to replace the complicated 135° hoop reinforcement details. Four RC column specimens were manufactured, and the main test parameters included the use of high-strength concrete and steel clip-type implements. Furthermore, three-dimensional finite element models were employed to evaluate the structural performances of the test specimens via nonlinear analyses. The results of the test and finite element analyses indicate that the RC columns with the steel clip-type implements exhibit structural performances equal to or better than those with the 135° hoop reinforcement details. Further, the finite element analysis results agree well with the test results.
Among the discussions on affective representation, the first is to explain the affective representation in the dimensions, and the second is to explain the affective representation according to the modality. In previous studies, to explain affective representation, valence models (signed valence, unsigned valence) and Modality-generality models (modality-general, modality-specific) were presented. In this study, we compared models presented in the previous study using the recently published ASMR to confirm which models explain affective representation well. The data used in this study were behavioral rating values collected by Kim & Kim (2022), and these were obtained for ASMR stimuli that were divided into three affective types (negative, neutral, and positive) and two modalities (auditory and audiovisual). Then, a multidimensional scaling, a representational similarity analysis with a two-way repeated measures ANOVA, and a multiple regression analysis with a two-way repeated measures ANOVA were performed. The results revealed that signed valence and modality-general distinguished between affective types of stimuli better than unsigned valence and modality-specific. Similar to the results of multidimensional scaling, the results of a representational similarity analysis and a multiple regression also showed that the signed valence and modality-general significantly explained affective representation better than the unsigned valence and the modality-specific. These results suggest that the model in which positive and negative are located at the opposite ends of the one dimension explains the affective representation of ASMR well, and that the affective representation was consistent regardless of modality.
