  • In this paper, we will introduce an encoding algorithm of LDPC Codes in Direct-Sequence UWB systems. We evaluate the performance of the coded systems in an AWGN channel. This new algorithm is based on the Jacket matrics. Mathematically let A = ($a_{kl}$) be a matnx, if $A^{-1}$ = $(a^{-1}_{kl})^r$,then the matrix A is a Jacket matrix. If the Jacket matrices if Low density, the inverse matrices is also Low density which is very important to the introduced encoding algorithm.

  • A ura5 gene encoding Orotate Phosphoribosyl Transferase (OPRTase) of Metarhizium anisopliae was cloned by PCR methods and sequenced. The sequenced ura 5 gene encodes a polypeptide of 234 amino acid residues. This deduced amino acid sequence showed high similarity to other fungi OPRTase and there was no intron sequence between ATG starting codon and TGA ending codon.

  • I construct a chaotically driven contraction system having some analogy with the information transfer mechanism in the brain system especially from CA1 cell to CA3 cell known from the empirical result. And I consider the properties of the response system on a state space according to the external input into the drive neuron by observing the fractal hierarchical structure. Then I induce the relation between the information about state transition of the chaotic time series and the spatial information on a fractal attractor to confirm the possibility of encoding of time series data to spatial information.

  • In this paper, we devise a Shapley-value-based covert channel in smartphones. More specifically, unlike ordinary use of Shapley value in cooperative game, we make use of a series of Shapley values, which are computed from sensor data collected from smartphones, in order to create a covert channel between encoding smartphone and decoding smartphone. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to contrive covert channel based on Shapley values. We evaluate the encoding process of our proposed covert channel through simulation and present our evaluation results.

  • The brown-rot basidiomycete Fomitopsis palustris is known to degrade crystalline cellulose (Avicel) and produce three major cellulases, exoglucanases, endoglucanases, and ${\beta}$-glucosidases. A gene encoding endoglucanase, designated as cel12, was cloned from total RNA prepared from F. palustris grown at the expense of Avicel. The gene encoding Cel12 has an open reading frame of 732 bp, encoding a putative protein of 244 amino acid residues with a putative signal peptide residing at the first 18 amino acid residues of the N-terminus of the protein. Sequence analysis of Cel12 identified three consensus regions, which are highly conserved among fungal cellulases belonging to GH family 12. However, a cellulose-binding domain was not found in Cel12, like other GH family 12 fungal cellulases. Northern blot analysis showed a dramatic increase of cel12 mRNA levels in F. palustris cells cultivated on Avicel from the early to late stages of growth and the maintenance of a high level of expression in the late stage, suggesting that Cel12 takes a significant part in endoglucanase activity throughout the growth of F. palustris. Adventitious expression of cel12 in the yeast Pichia pastoris successfully produced the recombinant protein that exhibited endoglucanase activity with carboxymethyl cellulose, but not with crystalline cellulose, suggesting that the enzyme is not a processive endoglucanase unlike two other endoglucanases previously identified in F. palustris.

  • This study was initiated with the aim of suggesting a further step in the program of literary therapy by revealing the mechanism by which the body heals through the discharge of neural network codes. Sentence is encoded as neural signals in our body as it is being read. If the neural networks in the human body are activated and created, the code in which the neural networks are encoded is a code composed of sentences. That is, Sentence is a code. And if the Sentence connects to the human body again and activates the human neural networks, it can be said that Sentence is encoded. At this time, the relation of "neural network codes = Sentence codes" is established. In other words, human narrative and literary narratives are the mediums that convey the same kinds of neural network codes. Cho Ji-Hoon's Poem "White Night" draws sadness through the path of loneliness in 1strophe. Through the Sentence of Loneliness, it activates neural network codes of sadness. 2strophe for the 'pure white snow' is the encoding of the Sentence. In 3strophe, the sentence for 'sadness' is encoded. This flow causes a healing mechanism in this Poem, because the neural network codes about the loneliness, sadness, and eyes of the human body are passed to the other. Here, the other is "White Night". In the future, it is expected that more effective healing results will be obtained if a literary therapy program on the encoding of the sentence of Cho Ji-Hoon's Poem is performed in the future.

  • This study of Cho Ji - Hoon's Poem "Falling Flowers" was attempted to find the mechanism of poetic healing and utilize it for literary therapy. In this study, I examined how Cho Ji-Hoon's poem "Falling Flowers" encoded crying. Especially, we focused on the organic relationship of each layer represented by poem and put emotional codes on the layer of functor and argument. The results are as follow. It represents the Separation Layer of 1-3strophes, 4-6strophes constitute the Time Layer, and 7-9strophes the Sadness Layer. This poem proceeds the encoding of the sentence in which the crying of cuckoo in the 1-3strophes transforms into the crying of the poetic narrator in the last 9strophe. The relation of emotional layers in this poem is in the same function relations as "(1-3strophes) ${\subset}$ (4-6strophes) ${\subset}$ (7-9strophes)". Since these functional relations consist of the encoding of sadness, encrypts emotion signals of sadness as "U+U+U" becomes "UUU". 1-3strophes' U is the cry of the cuckoo, and U of the 4-6strophes is blood cry. Therefore, "UUU" is the blood cry of poetic narrator. This Cho Ji-Hoon's poem has a Han(恨) at its base. So, as Cho Ji-Hoon's poem "Falling Flowers" is uttered, the poetic mechanism of U, the code of sadness, is amplified. Then we get caught up in the emotions we want to cry. The poetic catharsis of "crying" is providing the effect of literary therapy. In the future, it will be possible to develop a more effective literary therapy technique by developing a literary therapy program like this poetic structure.

  • The first frame of a GOP is encoded in intra mode which generates a larger number of bits. In addition, the first frame is used for the inter mode encoding of the following frames. Thus the encoding results of the intra frame affects the first frame as well as the following frames. Traditionally, the quantization parameter for an intra frame is determined only depending on the bpp not considering the characteristics of the intra frame. For accurate intra frame encoding, we should consider not only bpp but also the complexity of the video sequence and the output bandwidth. In this paper, we propose a real-time quantization model which is used to calculate the quantization parameter for an intra frame encoding based on the investigation on the characteristics of a GOP. It is shown by experimental results that the proposed quantization model captures the characteristics of an intra frame effectively and the proposed method for model parameters accurately estimates the real values.

  • The visual system applies previously learned contextual knowledge to facilitate the perception and encoding of scenes. When extrapolation following the employment of contextual information occurs, it sometimes leads to scene memory distortion: people report as if they saw more than they actually had seen. This phenomenon is called the "boundary extension" effect (Intraub & Richardson, 1989). The present study aimed to clarify the effects of contextual information on boundary extension in a more systematic way. Based on the assumption that it is harder to extract contextual information from inverted scenes compared to intact scenes, we presented inverted scenes either during encoding or retrieval to manipulate the level of contextual information and compared the magnitude of boundary extension effect for upright versus inverted scenes. In a series of experiments, we found that scene inversion during encoding, but not during retrieval, significantly reduced boundary extension. Showing reduced memory distortion for inverted scenes, the current study directly demonstrated that access to contextual information is a critical component of scene extrapolation process.
