유화전이에스테르화에 의한 대두유의 Biodiesel화 (Kmulsi5ed Transesterification of Soybean Oil into Biodicsal)

  • Emulsified transesterification of soybean oil into biodiesel was investigated using potassium hydroxide and sodium methoxide catalysts with methyl glucoside oleic polyester as a methanol-in-oil emulsifier. The transesterification reaction conditions were optimized to obtain high yields of fatty acid methyl esters of the quality defined by biodiesel standards. The developed process resulted in $95{\sim}96%$ of overall yield from soybean oil by alkali-catalyzed methanolysis at $45^{\circ}C$ of reaction temperature with 6:1 of methanol-to-oil molar ratio and 1(v/v)% methyl glucoside oleic polyester in the presense of 0.8wt% KOH and 1.2wt% $NaOCH_{3}$.

  • The esterification of palmitic acid in rapeseed oil and methanol emulsified by propylene glycol with PTSA(p-toluene sulfonic acid) was followed by the transesterification of rapeseed oil into biodiesel with 1(w/v)% GMS(glycerol monostearate) as an emulsifier using TMAH(tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide) catalysts at $60^{\circ}C$. The former reaction was optimized at the 1:20 of molar ratio of oil to methanol and 5wt% PTSA, and the latter was optimized at the 1:8 of molar ratio of oil to methanol and 0.8wt% TMAH. The overall conversion into biodiesel was 98% after 60min of reaction time at the 1:8 of molar ratio, 0.8wt% TMAH and $60^{\circ}C$. TMAH was a good catalyst to control the viscosity of biodiesel mixture.

  • Biodiesel as methyl esters derived from vegetable oils has considerable advantages in terms of environmental protetion. In the present work, methyl esters were produced from soybean oil by lipase-catalyzed transesterification. To reduce inactivation of commercial immobilized lipases emulsified two-step process was developed using the stepwise addition of methanol with 4:1 molar ratio at 4h intervals. Also with immobilized lipase from Candida antarctica(Novozym 435) high conversion of 98.5 percent was possible at $45^{\circ}C$ of reaction temperature with 4:1 of methanol-to-oil molar ratio and 1%(v/v) methyl glucoside oleic polyester as an emulsifier in the presence of cosolvent.

  • 대두유의 유화전이에스테르화에 의한 바이오디젤의 생산기술을 연구개발함에 있어서 지방산메틸에스테르의 수율에 미치는 메탄올 몰비, 알칼리 촉매량, 유화제 첨가량 및 반응시간의 영향을 규명하고 유화전이에스테르화 공정의 반응조건을 최적화한 결과, 반응온도 $45^{\circ}C$, 대두유에 대한 에탄올 몰비 1:6, 대두유에 대한 유화제의 첨가량 l(v/v)%에서 0.8wt% 수산화캄륨과 1.2wt% 소디움메톡시드로 대두유를 각각 30분과 50분간 전이에스테르화 하여 $95{\sim}96%$수준의 총괄수율을 얻었다.

  • The esterification of the reactants of Jatropha oil and methanol added by propyleneglycol was done using p-TSA catalyst. And then the emulsification of triglyceride and methanol was conduced by 1.0vol% GMS. The emulsified reactants were transesterified at $65^{\circ}C$ using TMAH and mixed catalyst (50wt%-TMAH+50wt%-NaOH) respectively. The esterification conversion at the 1:8 molar ratio of free fatty acid to methanol using 8.0wt% p-TSA was 94.7% within 80min. The overall conversion at the 1:8 molar ratio of mixed fat(50wt% Beef Tallow) to methanol and $65^{\circ}C$ using mixed catalyst was 95.4% The cloud point of Biodiesel decreased with the addition of petroleum diesel.

  • The transesterifications of beef tallow and the mixture of beef tallow and rapeseed oil were conducted at $65^{\circ}C$ respectively using TMAH, NaOH and their mixed catalysts. The reactants were emulsified with 1vol% emulsifier and propylene glycol. The overall conversion of beef tallow was 95% at such optimum conditions as the 1:8 of molar ratio and 0.8 wt% TMAH. The overall conversion of mixed fat at the 1:8 of molar ratio and mixed catalyst of 70 wt% TMAH 30 wt% NaOH was close to 97% which appeared at 0.8 wt% TMAH in 80min. And the kinematic viscosity of biodiesel mixture using the mixed catalyst was $6.5mm^2/s$ at $40^{\circ}C$.

올리브 오일의 에스터 교환반응 생성물의 TLC를 이용한 조성비 분석 및 화장품에의 응용가능성 평가 (Composition Ratio Analysis of Transesterification Products of Olive Oil by Using Thin Layer Chromatography and Their Applicability to Cosmetics)

  • 본 연구에서는 올리브 오일의 에스터 교환반응으로 생성된 복합소재(olive oil esters)의 화장품 응용을 위해 물리화학적 성질, 유화력, 보습력 및 세포독성을 평가하였다. 실험에는 반응시간이 짧은 olive oil esters S와 반응시간이 긴 olive oil esters L을 사용하였다. 먼저 TLC 이미지 분석으로 조성비를 확인한 결과, olive oil esters S의 조성은 mono-, di-, tri-glyceride가 5.2, 24.1, 46.4%이었고, fatty acid ethyl ester는 21.9%이었다. Olive oil esters L은 mono-, di-, tri-glyceride가 4.1, 24.7, 40.6%이었고, fatty acid ethyl ester는 28.8%이었다. 올리브 오일 에스터를 화장품에 사용하기 위한 기준 및 시험방법 설정을 위해 요오드가, 산가, 검화가, 불검화물, 굴절률, 비중 및 순도시험을 수행하였고 표준화시켰다. 또한 올리브 오일 에스터의 유화력 평가로서, 계면활성제 없이 O/W 에멀전을 제조하여 유화 입자를 확인하였다. 올리브 오일 에스터를 사람 피부에 도포 5일 후, 피부 수분 보유량은 초기보다 13.1% 개선되었다. 피부 세포에 대한 독성을 평가한 결과, 올리브 오일 에스터는 $0.2-200{\mu}g/mL$에서 세포 생존율 90% 이상을 나타내 안전성이 확인되었다. 결과적으로 올리브 오일 에스터는 화장품 산업에서 천연/무독성 원료로서 응용가능성이 있음을 시사하였다.
