Objectives: The purpose of this scoping review is to describe the research trends of postpartum healthcare for postpartum women, as well as to identify further direction for research in the area of postpartum healthcare. Methods: This study was conducted sequentially according to the Scoping Review Method referred to as 'frameworks of Arskey and O'Malley'. We searched for articles published as of May 15th, 2020 in seven Korean databases in order to obtain the data. A key term search strategy was employed, including terms such as "Postpartum period care", "Postpartum health", "Postpartum care", and "Postpartum status" to identify relevant studies. Results: Eighty-three articles were selected from a total of 259. The research has been undertaken steadily since 1997, particularly in the fields of Nursing and Korean medicine. In terms of study design, survey studies were the majority (48.2%), followed by interventions and experimental papers (32.5%). However, qualitative research areas are lacking. The research topics were largely divided into two categories: postpartum care characteristics and postpartum care interventions. The characteristics of postpartum care were highly connected with care for mental health. Among the postpartum care interventions, the most common employed was Korean medicine intervention. Conclusion: This study confirms that management of mental health during the postpartum period is necessary. In addition, it is necessary to identify the experiences of postpartum women and the effectiveness of a postpartum care intervention program through the utilization of qualitative research methods. In particular, such research is needed in the field of Korean medicine.
In this paper we try to explain delays in one's first marriage that are observed in contemporary society by accounting for possible factors that may play a substantial role in delaying marriages. Discrete-time survival analysis with unobserved heterogeneity was employed. The result indicates that the odds of getting married compared to odds of not getting married are 0.91 times, i.e. 8.5% lower for women with bachelor's degree than women with high school diploma or below. The odds of getting married compared to odds of not getting married are 0.4 times, i.e. 59.6% lower in case of women with masters and/or doctorate program degree than women with bachelor's degree. Employed men's odds of getting married to not getting married are increased by a factor of 1.65 compared to the unemployed men. In addition, if one's family circumstances are economically below average at the age of 14, the odds decrease by a multiple of 0.65. With these results, we are able to conclude that not only education level but also one's economic ability play significant roles in determining one's marriage decision.
The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between parental strain and marital adjustment of employed mothers after their transition to the parenthood, and to investigate buffering effect of social support on the relation. The parental strain variables (physical strain and emotional strain) appear to be significant predictors of marital adjustment for employed mothers with first baby. The analysis on interaction effect indicates that social support can be a positive buffering indicator. A comparison reveals that mothers with high physical strain have significantly higher marital adjustment than those with low strain. But in the context of high social support, the difference of marital adjustment between the two mothers is reduced.
The purpose of this study were to investigate : 1) Differences of perceived time pressure according to the employment status of housewife. 2) The differences of housework strategy according to the employment status of housewife. 3) The relation between perceived time pressure and housework performance strategy. The subject of this study were 375 women living in Seoul, the age of youngest child is at least school age. They were composed of non employed housewives, employed professional housewives and employed non professional housewives. Survery methods were questionare and interview. Data analysis strategy were percentile, frequency, one-way ANOVA, scheffe test and MCA. The major findings were : 1) Perceived time pressure and two sub areas, psychological time pressure and time pressure according to the part of housework were significantly different according to the employment status of housewife. The independent influence of employment status of housewives was most po erful in regression analysis. 2) Housework performance strategy was different according to the employment status of housewife. The strategies were divisions of housework amon family members, use of convenience goods, services, appliance, paid help, adjustment of housework performance standard, reduction of leisure and sleep time.

This article addresses potential barriers to sustained employment for rural low-income mothers. Drawing from a two panel longitudinal sample of 240 families from the Rural Families Speak project, it examines the extent to which human capital and family factors were related to these mothers' ability to be employed. Comparisons are made between mothers, who over a three-year period, were continuously unemployed, intermittently employed, or stably employed. Many of these rural low-income mothers faced multiple individual and family barriers that impacted their labor force participation. Notably food insecurity, mental health, caring for a young child, housing, and a family history of welfare were associated with less stable employment. The implications for public policy and service delivery are discussed.
This study investigated various attributes that contributed to successful employment in order to develop employment support programs, especially for female engineering students. We surveyed engineering students who graduated between 2006 and 2011. The 401 employed graduates participated in an online survey. The surveys inquired about their attachment towards their major, participation in various academic and non-academic activities, and their participation's contribution to their successful employment. In regards to their majors, women, in general, had lower levels of satisfaction, confidence, attachment, and motivation to succeed in their fields when compared to their male counterparts. These results show that engineering colleges still need to work on empowering female engineering students to gain confidence in their engineering major and attachment. The graduate school experience was highly rated by both men and women, whereas double majors exhibited somewhat lower scores. Among academic activities, part-time work experience and major-related internships were rated as the most helpful, and among extracurricular activities, study-abroad for language training and participation in student council or clubs received high scores. There was little difference between men and women in study-abroad participation, and women participated more actively in student councils. However, women had much less major-related work experience, reaffirming that colleges need to expand internship and field experience programs for female students.
The purpose of this study was to explore the determinants of induced abortions of married women in Korea, with focus on the socioeconomic factors including fertility behaviors and ideation regarding family values. Data from the 2000 Korea National Fertility Survey by Korea Institute of Health and Social Affairs were used for the research. In particular, the women´s fertility history from 1998 to 2000 was served as the main data for this study. Among 1,901 pregnancies in total, 1,612 pregnancy outcomes were selected for the final analysis. Chi-square test, Wilcoxon rank sum test and multivariate logistic regressions were employed to identify influential factors on induced abortions. According to the results, working women was more likely than those who did not work to terminate their pregnancy by an induced abortion. Women´s religion did not show any significant impact on an induced abortion. A pregnant woman already having more than or equal to two children was very likely to choose an induced abortion. Likewise, those in unwanted pregnancy showed high probability of induced abortions. However, contrary to what we believe, it turned out that the number of sons did not affect the choice of induced abortions.
Purpose: To assess the health behavior practices and related factors among married women teachers. Methods: A descriptive correlation research design was employed. The subjects were 216 married women teachers who were conveniently sampled from 14 elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. The data were collected using structured questionnaires and were analyzed via $x^2$-test, t-test, and logistic regression. Results: In terms of health behavior practices, 48.8% of subjects exercised more than once per week, 61.9% were consumers of alcohol, all of the subjects were non-smokers, 39.5% practiced healthy eating habit and 35.5% got an appropriate amount of sleep. In our logistic regression analysis, the significant factors affecting exercise practice were marriage years, and personality type. Factors affecting alcohol consumption were school grade and factors affecting eating habit were personality type, and school grade. Age was the only factor influencing adequate sleeping hours. Conclusion: We determined that each of the health behavior practices of married women teachers varied considerably in accordance with age, personality type, school grade, duration of work, and job stress, job satisfaction. The findings provide information that should be useful for the development of an integrated health promotion program for married women teachers.

In addition, subjective and objective variables and the relationship between the implementation of manners and the satisfaction felt in family life as a general has been examined. In total, 338 middle-aged married women were studied to serve as a data sources. The major findings of this study are indicated as follows: 1. It was discovered that there was a high level of manner implementation among the middle-aged married women studied. The variables that affected this level were as follows: educational experience in manner-uplifting courses, self-esteem, and humanism preference orientation. 2. On the level of satisfaction with family life as a general, the study showed reasonable standards. The following variables affected this level: the average monthly income of family, whether or not the women are employed, religious obligations, self-esteem, humanism preference orientation, manners within the family life itself, manners in ancestral services, and manners in communications. It was clear however that the implementation of manners in general played an important role in the amelioration of the level of satisfaction felt with family life.

Purpose: To identify the experience of violence and physical and psychiatric health in women residing in shelters. Method: A descriptive correlation research design was employed. The participants were 116 women living in shelters who consented to participate in this study. The women lived in one of 23 of the 48 shelters registered with the Ministry of Gender and Equality(2004). Their experience of violence was measured using the Conflict Tactics Scale II revised by the Ministry of Gender and Equality and their health status using the Cornell Medical Index revised by Nam(1965). Analysis included descriptive statistics, and Pearson's correlation coefficients. Results: The results confirmed the women in shelters to have been exposed to severe physical, psychological and sexual violence from their spouses, which had led to serious problems in their musculoskeletal system and also depression. There was a significant relationship between the experience of violence and health status. Conclusion: Future research is needed to develop programs to improve the situations of these women.
