  • The present research applies the Theory of Harmony through Holistic Engagement to the foreign policy of Japan. As the third largest economy in the world and one of the most highly developed countries in the world, Japan is a major international power. Most analysts interpret Japan’s foreign policy through the lenses of realist, exceptionalist, or liberal institutionalist approaches. All the previously mentioned approaches tend to be based on etic studies conducted from the point of view of outsiders. The present interpretation of Japanese foreign policy applies an emic model based on primary sources from the Greater East Asian region and concludes that the Model of Harmony through Holistic Engagement shows considerable explanatory traction in interpreting the direction and development of Japanese foreign policy, in particular in the last two to three decades.

  • The coner high column method that is used in the multi-roof building Sungryemoon seems to have been used for the first time during the Choseon Dynasty, and it's characteristics and trend of usage are studied in this paper. In the results, it was confirmed that the coner high column method is economic and structurally safe, and selectively combines the structural factors used in the Chinese seats. It was found that this method was a newly adopted construction method to effectively express the authority of the country with the establishment of a new dynasty. Also the meaning of the method could be guessed since it was continuously used in important structures from the Choseon Dynasty to the Daehan Empire, in spite of the new multi-roof building technologies.

Yeongseonsa, the royal architectural bureau in Gungnaebu after 1905, was comprised of traditional architectural engineers including Sim Euiseok, and they tried the modern transition of traditional royal facilities gradually. But, Yeongseonsa was transformed to Naejangwon Tomokgwa which was comprised of Kim Yungu and Japanese modern architectural engineers. As Kim Yungu was the modern civil engineer not architectural engineer, Japanese architectural engineers took the lead in the architectural activities of Naejangwon Tomokgwa, and Japanese architectural technology was applied to Korean royal facilities since then.

  • A slotted implantable patch antenna with microstrip feeding is proposed for industrial, scientific, and medical band applications. The result is verified by implanting the antenna in animal tissue. Further, by varying the ground width and introducing a defect into the ground structure, the antenna becomes applicable for worldwide interoperability for microwave access operations. A simulation is performed using Empire XCcel software. An Agilent vector network analyzer is used for analyzing the return loss performance. Simulated and measured results are compared. Antennas with and without defected ground structure both have key advantages including low profile, desirable return loss, good impedance matching and required bandwidth.

Research design, data, and methodology - We simultaneously examined various materials, analyzed preceding research, and interviewed department store managers (the parties to the Teukyakmeip transaction). Results - We examined whether the Teukyakmeip transactions are really beneficial to department stores, but unfavorable to vendors. Significant results emerge including figures and tables. Conclusions - Department stores will implement and develop the system to advance the win-win partnership by minimizing errors and drawbacks from the system.
