  • It is excitation system for nuclear emergency generator that is to startup automatically and sequentially supply essential loads with power. There are static type and alternating exciter, etc in its excitation system. An object of study is static excitation system which power is taken from power potential transformer and power current transformer. It is to complement curtailment of excitation system ability at happening short accidents. And Startup mode are quick startup and slow startup, etc. Its characteristic is looked into in this paper.

  • An emergency diesel generator system is an independent source of power that supports important electrical systems on loss of normal power supply. AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) is a regulator which regulates the output voltage at a nominal constant voltage level. Specially, a power supply for the AVR must be operated at the very wide input range. In this paper, a flyback power supply with very wide input voltage range is proposed.

  • Arc-furnace facilities consume 9,895,165(MWh) which is about 69.6 Percent of electronic furnace power consumption. and interior of a country demand power have inclosed annual. but becaused of the problem of cost, power plant location, and environment have faced difficulty to electric power supply. In this paper, Examining Load cutting of Arc-furnace that is dominating high weight of industry electric power use. and it is expected to solve easily electric power supply and demand problem by highest Priority load cutting examination of Arc-furnace when electric power supply and demand problem happens to area electric power system when is urgent.

  • This paper presents the power control for the hybrid electric propulsion system. In this paper, the hybrid propulsion system consists cf the generator and battery as power supply system in ship. The hybrid control system is designed with energy saving algorithm for decreasing the power consumption of power supply system. This paper suggests the method to increase efficiency of hybrid electric propulsion system by developing battery charging system. The performance of power control system is analyzed with the experiment equipment for hybrid propulsion system, and the results showed a good property.

  • This paper presents an emergency control algorithms for viability crisis following abnormal condition as well as a sudden major supply outage and line outage. The algorithm considers the effect of voltage-reactive power control for determining the load shedding quantities and generation reallocation. The problem is decomposed into a P-problem and a Q-problem. The former minimizes system frequency deviation from nominal value and the latter minimizes voltages violation of load buses. The optimization problem is solved by a reduced gradient technique which can handle a great number of inequality constraints very efficiently. It has been found that the use of the proposed algorithm for 6-Bus system restore the abnormal system during the viability crisis to the normal state.

  • An urban railway power substation consists of three thyristor dual converters. Two converters are connected to up and down trolley line to supply the electric energy or feed the regenerative energy back to the distribution. When the two converters break down, the remaining converter is used in an emergency. One thyristor dual converter system (TDCS) manages the energy of two or three railway stations. If the TDCS fails, the trains stop operating. To solve the problem, this paper proposes the three parallel operation control algorithm of thyristor dual converter system using the emergency converter. The broken TDCS can be replaced by the emergency converter in other TDCS. The effectiveness of this proposed control is verified by simulation.

  • As a result of increasing power demand and concern about power supply shortage in the world, various energy sources without depletion of fossil fuel are installed to electrical network. Above all, nuclear energy can be considered as the most economical energy source to generate electricity. But recently, due to problem of safety which has emerged as a key social issue, additional construction of nuclear power plants is difficult. In order to replace nuclear power, researches on the emergency generator have been actively conducting. This study conducted a survey of public institutions about specification of backup generator system and current states to secure available capacity.

Improved DC-DC Bidirectional Converter (개선된 DC-DC 양방향 컨버터)

  • Since the introduction of electronically controlled engines and electric propulsion ships, the need for an uninterruptible power supply for emergency power supply devices that use batteries has gained importance. The bidirectional converter in such emergency power supply devices is a crucial component. This paper proposes, a topology for an improved DC-DC bidirectional converter that is characterized by a high voltage conversion ratio and low voltage stress of switches. To confirm the performance of the converter, a computer simulation was executed with PSIM software. The conversion ratio of the proposed converter was found to be four times higher than the conventional boost converter in step-up mode and one-fourth that of the conventional buck converter in step-down mode, and the voltage stress of the switches was one-fourth of the high-side voltage. Moreover, the proposed converter was confirmed to be able to distribute equal currents between two interleaved modules without using any extra current-sharing control method because of the charge balance of its blocking capacitors.

  • Diesel generator is most widely used for supplying of emergency electrical power. There have been extensive research efforts to develop ways to Ensure stable electrical power delivery to the loads using hybrid power sutures, such as power source, storage batteries, fuel cells and solar cells. Furthermore, as the role of these diesel generators for emergency electrical power supply has recently become very important, they should assure high reliability and flexibility according to the operation load. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce a controller to be used in diesel generator toenable tracking control of maximum power according to the load variation and suppressing high-order harmonics while maintaining stable frequency.
