As information telecommunication industry develops and systems get integrated gradually, the importance of embedded software is growing significantly. On the contrary, the reliability of embedded software has worsened. Accordingly, testing of software is an essential part in designing and building up embedded system and the volume of testing required is immense. This paper elaborates on design and testing model for complex embedded software, providing guidelines to collect requirements for complex embedded software.

An embedded system is a computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions often with real-time computing constraints. A traditional design process of embedded systems is the development of document-centric approach, and it is difficult to develop an embedded system efficiently because communication between teams or steps is not smooth. So the Model Based Design Process are applied to the development of embedded systems. This paper will compare the Model Based Design Process and the traditional design process, and introduce example of development of vehicle device applied the Model Based Design Process.

This letter proposes a new embedded speech coding structure based on the Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband (AMR-WB) standard codec. The proposed coding scheme consists of three different bitrates where the two lower bitrates are embedded into the highest one. The embedded bitstream was achieved by modifying the algebraic codebook search procedure adopted for the AMR-WB codec. The proposed method provides the advantage of scalability due to the embedded bitstream, while it inevitably requires some additional computational complexity for obtaining two different code vectors of the higher bitrate modes. Compared to the AMR-WB codec, the embedded coder shows improved speech qualities for two higher bitrate modes with a slightly increased bitrate caused by the decreased coding efficiency of the algebraic codebook.

본 논문에서는 21세기 정보기술의 중심 중에 한 분야인 하드웨이/소프트웨어 협동설계에 기반을 둔 임베디드시스템 구성에 대해 논의하였다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 임베디드시스템의 분류와 그 필요성에 대해 기술하였고, 또한, 임베디드 시스템 구성시에 고려할 사항과 분류에 대해 논의하였다. 그리고 임베디드시스템 모델링에 대해 논의하였다. 제안한 하드웨어/소프트웨어 협동설계에 기반을 둔 임베디드시스템은 최근에 그 중요성이 높아지고 있으며 향 후 많은 분야의 차세대 IT 분야에 접목이 될 것으로 기대된다.

기존 사무 환경에서 개인 PC를 이용하여 네트워크를 통해 프린터를 공유하는 경우 프린터와 직접 연결된 PC에 상당한 과부하가 발생한다. 프린터에 직접 연결된 PC 사용자는 개인 작업 시 이러한 과부하로 인해 불편함이 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하고, 사무실 구성원들이 네트워크를 통해 원할 한 프린터 작업을 수행할 수 있도록 프린터 서버 역할을 수행 하는 Embedded Linux 기반의 Embedded Printer System을 구현 하였으며, 실제 환경에서 실험을 거쳐 성능을 검증하였다.

[ $\blacklozenge$ ] PCB에 있어서 Embedded passive 는chip을 직접 내장하는 방법과 특별한 특성을 갖는 재료 및 공법을 사용하여 chip 응 대치하는 방법이 있다. $\blacklozenge$ Embedded passive PCB가 적용될 수 있는 유력한 적용 분야는 소형화가가 요구되는 분야와 고속 특성이 요구되는 분야를 들 수 있고, 따라서, Module, SOP/SIP, Package substrate 등이 우선적으로 적용될 수 있는 분야다. $\blacklozenge$ Embedded capacitor를 적용한 경우, 일반적인 chip capacitor를 적용한 경우보다 더 좋은 전기적인 특성(SRF, Q)을 얻을 수 있으며, solder joint 등의 영향을 포함하면 더욱 좋은 특성이 얻어질 수 있다. $\blacklozenge$ Embedded passive 의 상용화를 위해서, 공차를 관리하는 방법의 개발과 공차에 대한 합리적인 규격을 설정하는 것이 우선 과제이다. $\blacklozenge$ Embedded resistor 의 경우, Laser trim을 적용하여 ${\pm}\;5\%$ 또는 그 이하의 공차를 실현할 수 있고, $30\;K\Omega/sq$. 의 고저항의 적용까지 가능하다. $\blacklozenge$ 고속 신호에서의 noise 감소, module, SIP/SOP 의 소형화를 실현하는데 Embedded passive(혹은 active)PCB 가 기여 할 수 있을 것이고, 이를 위하여 Set 업체, PCB 업체, 재료 업체간의 지속적인 협조가 필요할 것이다.

The embedded software has been developed in the forms of various versions that provides similar service based on product family. For increase usefulness of product family, software must has well-structured and reusable properties. Software architecture is important to improve adaptability in model-based development of embedded software mounted onto product family. In this paper, we proposed a technique of ADD(Attribute-Driven Design)-based software architecture design for low power software development. This technique provides a chance to consider the power consumption issue in design phase of software, and makes possible to develop low power embedded software.

In this paper, a remote screen control by mobile networks on embedded system is implemented. For this system a server program is ported on the embedded system connected with internet. And on the side of a mobile phone, a client program is ported using GVM. The embedded system can display the text and image from the mobile phone on its LCD. In the implemented embedded system the text and image data from GVM emulator is sent to the system for display on its LCD. The realization of the proposed embedded system can display the text :md image from a working mobile phone.

Simulator is a development equipment which enables the ECU to operate in normal mode by simulating the interface signal between ECU and mechanical system electrically. Embedded simulator means simulation function is embedded in ECU firmware, hence the electrical signal interface is replaced by the substitution of information at system program level. This paper explains the development of embedded transmission simulator for the verification of TCU firmware function which covers shifting control and on-board diagnosis. The embedded simulation program is executed in TCU processor along with the TCU firmware and it provides TCU firmware with not only the speed information those are appropriate both in driving and shifting conditions, but also the fault detection signals. Experimental results show that the validity of embedded simulator and its usefulness to the TCU firmware development and verification.

본 논문에서는 21세기의 정보기술의 중심이 되는 임베디드 시스템을 하드웨이/소프트웨어 기반의 임베디드 시스템 구성에 대한 한가지 방법에 대해 논의하였다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 임베디드 시스템의 분류와 그 필요성에 대해 기술하였고, 또한, 임베디드 시스템 구성시에 고려할 사항과 분류에 대해 논의하였다. 그리고 임베디드 시스템 모델링에 대해 논의하였다. 또한 제안한 임베디드 하드웨어/소프트웨어 시스템은 최근에 그 중요성이 높아지고 있으며 향 후 많은 분야에 접목이 될 멀티미디어 시스템을 효과적으로 구성할 수 있는 토대를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
