This research was performed to evaluate adsorption behavior of woody charcoals obtained from wood powder, fiber and bark of spruce (Abies sibirica Ledeb). The wood materials were carbonized at various temperatures for 1 hour using experimental rotary kiln without any inert gas. The adsorption capacity of iodine and toluene, specific surface area and removal efficiency of acetic acid and ammonia gas of those charcoals were measured. The higher was the temperature for carbonization, the lower yields of charcoals were. Ash content of bark charcoal was higher than that of wood powder charcoal or fiber charcoal. Elemental analysis of woody charcoal revealed that the content of carbon was gradually lincreased as carbonization temperature was higher. When carbonization temperature was higher, adsorption capacity of woody charcoals for iodine was much improved. Wood powder charcoal and fiber charcoal were more effective for iodine adsorption rather than bark charcoal. Capacity of toluene adsorption was the highest in the charcoal of $600^{\circ}C$. Charcoals produced at high temperature efficiently removed acetic acid gas, while charcoals carbonized at low temperature such as $400^{\circ}C$ were proper to remove ammonia gas. This difference may be explained that the acidity of charcoals depends on the carbonization temperature: charcoals of low temperature indicate acidic property, while those of high temperature turned to alkaline.
The Mo(V) $di-\mu-oxo$ type $(Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_2L)$ complexes $(L:\;C_3H_7CH(SCH_2COOH)_2,\;C_6H_5CH(SCH_2COOH)_2,\;CH_3OC_6H_4CH(SCH_2COOH)_2,\;C_5H_{10}C(SCH_2COOH)_2,\;C_3H_7C(CH_3)(SCH_2COOH)_2,\;C_3H_7CH(SCH_2CH_2COOH)_2,\;C_6H_5CH(SCH_2CH_2COOH)_2)$ have been prepared by the reaction of $[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$ with a series of dithiodicarboxy ligands. These complexes are completed by two terminal oxygens arranged trans to one another and each ligand forms a chelate type between two molybdenum. In $Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_2L$, two $H_2O$ coordinated at trans site of terminal oxygens. The prepared complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, electronic spectra, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra. In the potential range -0.00 V to -1.00 V at a scan rate of 20 $mVs^{-1}$, a cathodic peak at -0.50∼-0.58 V (vs. SCE) and an anodic peak at -0.40∼-0.43 V (vs. SCE) have been observed in aquous solution. The ratio of the cathodic to anodic current ($I_{pc}/I_{pa}$) is almost 1, we infer that redox is reversible reaction.
Some nickel(Ⅱ) and palladium(Ⅱ) complexes of the ambidentate ligands derived from condensation of the isonitrosoacetylacetone and various diamines, $Ni(IAA)_2-en$, $Ni(IAA)_2-pn$, $Ni(IAA)_2-tn$, $Pd(IAA)_2-en$, PdCl(IAA)-pn, and $Pd(IAA)_2$-tn, where (IAA)$_2$-en, $(IAA)_2$-tn, and (IAA)-pn represent N,N'-enthylenbis(isonitrosoacetylacetone imine), N,N'-propylenebis(isonitrosoacetylacetone imine), N,N'-trimethylenebis(isonitrosoacetylacetone imine) and N-(2-aminopropyl)isonitrosoacetylacetone imine, respectively, have been prepared. The nickel(Ⅱ) and palladium(Ⅱ) complexes were characterized on the bases of the elemental analysis, IR, NMR, and electronic spectra. It is suggested that a isonitroso group of (IAA)$_2$-en or (IAA)$_2$-tn coordinates to the metal ion through the nitrogen atom to form five-membered ring, while the other isonitroso group of (IAA)$_2$-en or (IAA)$_2$-tn coordinates to the metal ion through the oxygen atom to form six membered ring in square-planar complexes of Ni(IAA)$_2$-tn and Pd(IAA)$_2$-en. And two isonitroso groups of (IAA)$_2$-en, (IAA)$_2$-pn, or (IAA)$_2$-tn coordinate to the metal ion through the nitrogen atom to form five-membered rings in square-planar complexes of Ni(IAA)$_2$-en, Ni(IAA)$_2$-pn, and Pd(IAA)$_2$-tn. On the other hand, square-planar PdCl(IAA)-pn is formed by the reaction of propylenediamine with a isonitrosoacetylacetone in the presence of palladium(Ⅱ)ion.

Several new nickel(II) complexes, [Ni(L)X$_2$ and [Ni(L)$_2$]Cl$_2$ (L = L$_1$, L$_2$ ; X = Cl$^-$, Br$^-$, I$^-$) have been synthesized by reacting NiX$_2$ or NiX$_2$, 6H$_2$O with aminophosphines(L) wherein L is 1,2-bis{(diphenylphosphino)amino}propane(L$_1$) or 1,2-bis{(diphenylphosphino)amino}ethane(L$_2$). These complexes are characterized by the optical spectroscopic methods (UV/Vis, CD, IR, $^1$H-NMR, and $^{31}$P-NMR) together with conductometer and elemental analysis. The complex with I$^-$ is tetrahedral, where the complexes with Cl$^-$ or Br$^-$ are square planar. The complexes, [Ni(L)X$_2$](X = Cl$^-$, Br$^-$) become tetrahedral, as they react with methyl iodide. The Ni(L)X$_2$ complexes underwent solvolysis with a various organic solvents such is EtOH, DMSO, THF and DMF.
We synthesized the binuclear tetradentate Schiff base cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes such as [Co(II)_2(TSBP)(L)_4], [Ni(II)_2(TSBP)(II)_4] and [Cu(II)_2(TSBP)] (TSBP: 3,3',4,4'-tetra(salicylideneimino)-1,1'-biphenyl, L: Py, DMSO and DMF). We identified the binucleated structure of these complexes by elemental analysis, IR-spectrum, UV-visible spectrum, T.G.A. and D.S.C. According to the results for cyclic voltammogram and differential pulse polarogram of 1 mM complexes in nonaqueous solvents included 0.1M TEAP-L (L; Py, DMSO and DMF) as supporting electrolyte, it was found that diffusionally controlled redox processes of four steps through with one electron for binucleated Schiff base Cobalt(II) complex was Co(III)_2 {^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(III)Co(II)_2{^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(II){^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(I){^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}Co(I)_2 and two steps with one electron for Nickel(II) and Copper(II) complexes were M(II)_2 {^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}M(I)M(I){^\longrightarrow \\_\longleftarrow^e^-}M(I)_2 (M; Ni and Cu) in nonaqueous solvents.
Complexes of thiocyanato(L)cobaloximes where L is urea, acetamide, semicrabazide and formamide were synthesized and characterized. The reaction of thiocyanato (L) cobaloximes (SCNCo$(DH)_2$(L)) with benzyl (aquo) cobaloxime $PhCH_2Co(DH)_2(OH_2)$ was found to produce a series of thiocyanato bridged dicobaloximes of a general formula of $PhCH_2Co(DH)_2SCNCo(DH_2)(L)$. Evidence for formulation as dicobaloximes containing thiocyanato ligand bridges was obtained from infrared data which show $20-45cm^{-1}$ increase in vCN upon formation of the dicobaloxime from the corresponding terminal thiocyanocobaloxime (SCNCo$(DH)_2$(L)). Further characterization of these two series was done on the basis of ($^1H$,$^{13}C$)NMR, LCMS and elemental analysis. Anti-microbial activity of thiocyanato(L)cobaloximes and thiocyanato bridged dicobaloximes were screened against E. Coli. The DNA-binding behaviors of both monomers and dimers were investigated by spectroscopic methods and viscosity measurements. The results indicated that the dimer complexes bind with calf-thymus DNA in an intercalative mode via the terminal benzyl ring into the base pairs of DNA. It was observed that the monomer complexes did not interact with DNA. Fluorescence spectra for the interaction between thiocyanato bridged dicobaloximes and DNA were also studied.
Herein, life time prediction based on the deterioration of physical properties of chloroprene rubber (CR)aged by heat and seawater was performed. CR samples were experienced an accelerated test at $80^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$, $120^{\circ}C$ for heat aging, and $40^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$ for seawater aging for 20,000 hrs. The change in tensile strength, maximum elongation, hardness was measured. As a result, the decrease in elongation was a major factor causing failure. The life time estimated using an Arrhenius model was 125 years at $23^{\circ}C$ for thermal aging and 9 years at $23^{\circ}C$ for seawater aging. SEM and elemental analysis reveal that cracks were generated and the content of oxygen was increased for CR agined by seawater. FT-IR spectrum shows the new C-O and C = O bonds were generated by the chemical reaction with seawater. Also, the glass transtion temperature was increased and the thermal decomposition was decreased by seawater aging.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how to modify the physical properties of cellulose after thermal treatment. Cellulose was treated between $225^{\circ}C$ and $325^{\circ}C$ for 3 hrs under air flow, and then the thermally treated cellulose was measured to specific surface area, constitute elements, consumption ofacid and base, as well as the adsorption capacity of ethylamine vapor. The higher was the treating temperature from $225^{\circ}C$ to $325^{\circ}C$, the lower was the total yield of cellulose. Elemental analysis revealed that carbon content in thermally treated cellulose was gradually increased in proportion to temperature increment. The amount of acidic functional groups tended to increase up to $300^{\circ}C$, after then to be lowered slightly. In principle, no alkaline functional groups were found in thermally treated cellulose. In case of treatment with $325^{\circ}C$, only a few amount of alkaline functional groups were detectable. Specific surface area of thermally treated cellulose are determined to $1.9m^2/g$, which value can become higher when the treated temperature rises. The thermally treated cellulose at $275^{\circ}C$ shows the highest adsorption capacity of ethylamine at $40^{\circ}C$ for 4 hrs. Solubility of those two celluloses with WPG (Weight Percent Gain) value of 113% and 108%, respectively, was determined to almost 100%. X-ray diffractogram of thermally treated cellulose suggested that the crystalline structure of cellulose began to be destroyed at the temperature of $275^{\circ}C$. As a conclusion, changes of such a physical properties make it possible to weaken inter and/or intra hydrogen bond in crystal region of cellulose macromolecules. When thermally treated cellulose adsorbs ethylamine, it turns to be well soluble to water.
Introduction : Recently, water and environmental pollution becomes serious social problem and high technology makes this pollution accelerate. Hydrogen sulfide, the main subject of our research, is one of the most dangerous air pollutant like SO$_x$ and NO$_x$. The major contaminant in coal gasification is H$_2$S, which is very toxic, hazardous and extremely corrosive. Therefore, control of hydrogen sulfide to a safe level is essential. Although commercial desulfurization process called liquid scrubbing is effective for removal of H$_2$S, it has drawbacks, the loss of sensible heat of the gas and costly wastewater treatment. Many investigations are carried out about high-temperature removal ol H$_2$S in hot coal-derived gas using metal oxide or mixed metal qxide sorbents. It was reported that ZnO was very effective sorbent for H2S removal, but it has big flaw to vaporize elemental zinc above 600\ulcorner \ulcorner As alternative, metal oxides such as CaO, $Fe_2O_3$, TiO$_2$ and CuO were added to ZnO. Especially, different results are reported for $Fe_2O_3$ additive. Tamhankar et al. reported SiO$_2$ with 45 wt% $Fe_2O_3$ sorbent is favorable for removal of H$_2$S and regeneration.
UI design is growing in meaning and form itself through the development of hardware and contents. And it makes users accept its interface as a extension of the body and mind because of the substantial rapport of the user and contents with developing of device and graphic. In this study, we analyzed user interface in a view of digital storytelling by observing of its role within user and contents. Not only this, classifying and investigating story elements in the games for forming the theoretical basis of storytelling UI are enforced. For the case study of UI, we choose the game, Diablo, Half-Life, and Homeworld because the game is suitable for the application of node-type storytelling and effectively uses graphic and input unit. This analysis explains the interface has the contents data that divided or shared and it means the interface performs its part of story nodes, which are extracted from the story, and choice. And we analogized that the story elemental can be substituted and used practically for interface because the stories made through the thing that users and developers are in the space of coexistence by the interface. Storytelling UI will be a good way to make a most intriguing piece as a joyful spontaneous complex that use story node. It is worth by reason of making by user and discovering live inner story so that it can approach to the substance of the story.
