A Study on the Gap Between University Academic Information Resource Using Gini Coefficient (지니계수를 활용한 대학도서관 학술정보자원 격차 연구)

  • This study uses Gini coefficient to index the inequality of academic information resource among universities to identify the areas where the gap is extremely severe, and analyzes the Gini coefficient over time for 10 years to show how the gap is changing. In addition, the degree and characteristics of the gap appearing by type of universities such as metropolitan universities, local national universities, private universities, and colleges were also compared. As a result, first, the university library academic information infrastructure showed a severe level of disparity (0.6 - 0.9), and the inequality was more severe in serials, electronic resources, and reference service. Even when the relative Gini coefficient was calculated considering the number of students, the inequality was over 0.4 in serial etc. Second, the Gini coefficient trend over the last decade shows that the inequality has decreased toward equality in the re-education time of employees and electronic information resources, but not in other sectors. Third, it was found that special universities and universities in the metropolitan area showed a large gap between universities of the same kind, and local national universities showed the best gap level as well as the best academic information infrastructure.

  • EBooks refer to electronic versions of books which are accessible via internet with forms of digital texts. In recent years, Amazon's Kindle digital eBooks has revealed the possibilities of success of the e-book market, which leads other companies to launch eBook service such as Google's eBook stores and Apple's iPad and eBook service. These reveal that the eBook market is finally showing a substantial amount of growth. Although the issue of technical support of eBook copyright protection emerges from the fast growing eBook marketplace, current technic of commercial DRM for protecting eBook copyright protection still has problems of non-comparability. Therefore, with the current technical status, DRM comparability problems, which have already occurred in music DRM environment, would also happen in eBook environment. This study suggests a standard framework to support eBook DRM comparability. When development of the standard reference software for eBook DRM comparability is completed, the sources will be registered as shareware to be open to public.

Implementation of Control Point, Digital TV, and Light Controller Emulator on Embedded System Using UPnP Home Networking Control Middleware (홈 네트워킹 제어 미들웨어인 UPnP를 이용한 Control Point 및 내장형 시스템 상에서의 DTV와 전등 제어기 에뮬레이터 구현)

  • In this paper, we have implemented UPnP Devices which emulate a Control Point, a Light Controller, and a Digital TV. The Control Point has been developed on Linux host system by using C language. The UPnP Devices emulating the Digital TV and Light Controller are running on embedded linux developer board. For the development of UPnP Devices, UPnP SDK API Vl.04 made by Intel Co. Ltd. has been ported on Assabet Linux Reference board to implement the UPnP protocol. After we analyze and design some services of Digital TV device, we have applied UPnP Device program to those devices. UPnP SDK vl .04 consists of APIs which support HTTP, SSDP, SOAP, GENA and XML DOM Level-1 that are cores of UPnP protocol. The C program written for the UPnP Control Point has been compiled and executed on Linux-based PC. The embedded system running on Embedded Linux OS has been connected all together through Ethernet which allows IP-based communications. Under this environment, the UPnP programs are being executed on each device. Control Point, when in operational mode, discovers UPnP Devices on the network and displays the device list on the consol. By selecting one of the functionalities of the device services that are displayed on the Control Point, the controllability has been accomplished. The experiment that we performed in this thesis have revealed that the Control Point and UPnP Devices have supported the protocols including SSDP, SOAP, GENA, and DHCP.

Development a System to Manage the Code of Construction Specifications and Design Standards (국가건설기준 코드 관리시스템 구축)

  • The construction standards in Korea consist of design standards and specifications. They are provided by the national transportation electronic information center in file format, not in a DB, which may lead to their incomplete utilization and versatility, such as a lack of history management and reference functions. This also makes it difficult to cross-refer to standards and manage revision history. In this study, we developed a code management system for the national construction standards by analyzing domestic and overseas related systems, in order to pinpoint the problems in the current system and its development direction and, thus, to suggest a detailed plan for the design and implementation of a code management system. The developed system comprises four subsystems, namely a construction standards making system, construction standards service system, construction standards maintenance system and construction standards portal system. The results of this study are expected to improve the user's convenience by facilitating the revision, operation and history management of the complex and various construction standards, and to provide high-quality national construction standards by effectively supporting the revision and operation of the national construction standards with minimum duplication and conflicts.

  • Air transport today is a means of transport that is optimized for exchanges between nations. Around the world, has experienced an increase in operating and the number of airline route expansion that has entered into the international aviation agreements in order to take advantage of the air transport efficient, but the possibility of the occurrence of air transport accidents increased. When compared to the accident of other means of transport, development of air transport accidents, not high, but it leads to catastrophe aviation accident occurs. Air Transport accident many international transportation accident than domestic transportation accident, in the event of an accident, the analysis of the legal responsibility of the shipper or the like is necessary or passenger air carrier. Judgment of the legal order of discipline of air transport accident is a classification of the type of air transport agreement. Depending on the object, air transport agreements are classified into the contract of carriage of aviation of the air passenger transportation contract. For casualties occurs, air passenger transportation accident is a need more discussion of legal discipline for this particular. Korean Commercial Code, it is possible to reflect in accordance with the actual situation of South Korea the contents of the treaty, which is utilized worldwide in international air transport, even on the system, to control land, sea, air transport and welcoming to international standards. However, Korean Commercial Code, the problem of the Montreal Convention has occurred as it is primarily reflecting the Montreal Convention. As a cause of liability for damages, under the Commercial Code of Korea and the contents of the treaty precedent is reflected, the concept of accident is necessary definition of the exact concept for damages of passengers in particular.
