전자부품의 방열방향에 따른 접촉열전도 특성 (Characterization of a Thermal Interface Material with Heat Spreader)

  • The increasing of power and processing speed and miniaturization of central processor unit (CPU) used in electronics equipment requires better performing thermal management systems. A typical thermal management package consists of thermal interfaces, heat dissipaters, and external cooling systems. There have been a number of experimental techniques and procedures for estimating thermal conductivity of thin, compressible thermal interface material (TIM). The TIM performance is affected by many factors and thus TIM should be evaluated under specified application conditions. In compact packaging of electronic equipment the chip is interfaced with a thin heat spreader. As the package is made thinner, the coupling between heat flow through TIM and that in the heat spreader becomes stronger. Thus, a TIM characterization system for considering the heat spreader effect is proposed and demonstrated in detail in this paper. The TIM test apparatus developed based on ASTM D-5470 standard for thermal interface resistance measurement of high performance TIM, including the precise measurement of changes in in-situ materials thickness. Thermal impedances are measured and compared for different directions of heat dissipation. The measurement of the TIM under the practical conditions can thus be used as the thermal criteria for the TIM selection.

디지털위성중계기용 성능입증장치의 설계 및 구현에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Implementation of EGSE for Digital Satellite Communication)

  • 본 연구는 디지털위성중계기용 성능입증장치의 설계 및 구현에 대해 기술하였다. 성능입증장치(EGSE : Electrical Ground Support Equipment)는 디지털위성중계기를 평가하는 장비로 정밀하고 정확한 측정이 요구된다. 성능입증장치는 디지털위성중계기를 검증하기 위하여 위성버스를 모사한 PLDIU(Payload Distribution and Interface Unit)와 계측장비연동장치, SHF대역 상향주파수/하향주파수 변환장치, 모뎀 등으로 구성되어 있다. 성능입증장치는 디지털위성중계기를 제작 후 성능확인 및 열진공시험 등의 우주환경시험 시 활용하였다.

  • 본 연구는 대전자전 중계기용 성능 입증 장치의 설계 및 구현에 대해 기술하였다. 성능 입증 장치(EGSE :Electrical Ground Support Equipment)는 대전자전 중계기를 평가하는 장비로 정밀하고 정확한 측정이 요구된다. 성능 입증 장치는 대전자전 중계기를 검증하기 위하여 위성 버스를 모사한 PLDIU(Payload Distribution and Interface Unit)와 계측장비 연동장치, L대역 상향주파수/하향주파수 변환장치, 모뎀 등으로 구성되어 있다. 성능 입증 장치는 대전자전 중계기를 제작 후 성능 확인 및 열진공시험 등의 우주 환경 시험 시 활용하였다.

  • In this paper, EMI measurement, the STGU simulation being conducted, filter design, its characteristics, and its implementation to the PCB, and finally test results are discussed. When the low pass filter was implemented within the STGU, the power of EMI decreased more than 20dBm. Finally, when TE and MTIE, two important quality measure in synchronous reference clock, was assessed, ITU-T G813 requirement was satisfied. EMI(Electromagnetic Interface) is a measure of electomagnetic radiation from equipment in the range of 10KHz to 3GHz, and can cause unexpected reactions of electronics/electrical equipment. In this study, for safe and stable communication operation, a STGU (System Timing Generation Unit), which is a 2.5G SDH System and a major EMI source, was employed to simulate electromagnetic interface. Using Open-Site test, the power of fundamental frequency of EMI of interest and its harmonics were measured. Also, a low pass filter at cut-off frequency of 2GHz was specifically designed for this study to minimize the effect of EMI between electronic components.

한국형 고속전철용 신호시스템의 실험실 시험을 위한 통합 신호시스템 (Integrated Railway Signaling Systems for Laboratory Testing of Next-generation High-speed Train)

  • Railway signaling systems consist of several vital computerized equipment such as CTC(Centralized Traffic Control), EIS(Electronic Interlocking System), ATC(Automatic Train Control) and so on. Currently, the project for development of railway signaling systems for the next-generation high-speed train is progressed according to the G7 project and railway signaling related several companies and research institute are joined this project consortium. The railway signaling systems, being developed in this project, called as a kTCS(Korean Train Control System), is composed of kTCS-CTC, kTCS-IXL, kTCS-ATC and etc. kTCS signaling systems have to be operated at the laboratory testing level as integrated signaling systems by interface between each railway signaling systems before railway field installation and revenue service. To solve this matter, communication protocols between each signaling equipment are designed and message codes for each defined protocols have defined. And also several equipment has developed for the railway integrated signaling systems for laboratory testing. We has plentifully tested and verified the designed protocols and the characteristics of integrated railway signaling systems with our developed each kTCS signaling equipment and communication protocols. In this paper, the integrated kTCS system including communication protocols is presented.

  • The most important thing to secure safety and reliability of railway vehicles is to verify performance characteristics of equipments, and related companies or research institutes had many efforts to verify performances and functions of equipments synthetically and efficiently. KHST(Korean High Speed Train) has been developed by KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute). An electric railway system is composed of high-tech subsystems, among which main electric equipment such as transformers and converter are critical components determining the performance of rolling stock. We developed a measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of performances of KHST. The measurement system is composed of software part and hardware part. Perfect interface between multi-users is possible. A new method to measure temperature was applied to the ]measurement system. By using the system, fault diagnosis and performance evaluation of electric equipment in Korean High Speed Train was conducted during test running.

Low-Frequency Haptic Interface Developed for Electrical Safety Experience Education

  • Electric shock due to the increased use of power, equipment accidents, electrical accidents, such as electric fire and also continues to grow. To prevent electric shock accidents, an experience education is more effective than indoctrination education. But an electric shock experience education system required a proper physical stimulation on human body to experience electric shock. In this study, we conducted a study to take advantage of the realistic haptic interface using a low-frequency type experiential learning and prevention education. Results of this study could be applied to an electric shock experience education system.

  • Epoxy compound has been used as insulation material in electrical equipment for a long time because of its excellent electrical, mechanical and chemical properties. Nowdays, becoming higher voltage system, the properties of interface between epoxy and metal insert become more important. The breakdown voltage of epoxy compound for electric material is variable according to the surface roughness of metal insert. Generally, with metal insert sanding, the adhesion strength is enhanced and the breakdown strength is reduced. But in this study, we knew that the adhesion strength became enhanced but the breakdown strength didn\`t reduced with metal insert sanding. So in this study sanding. So in this study, we suggest the optimum interface condition by adjusting the surface roughness.

센서 기반의 IOT 시스템의 FPGA 설계 교육용 장비 (Education Equipment for FPGA Design of Sensor-based IOT System)

  • 여러 가지 센서를 이용한 IOT(Internet Of Thing) 시스템의 FPGA 설계용 교육장비를 소개한다. 센서들은 다양한 출력 방식을 가지고 있어서 출력 방식에 따른 센서 인터페이스 컨트롤러를 FPGA 상에서 설계가 필요하다. 본 장비는 아날로그 출력인 경우에 FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)내에 있는 ADC(Analog-to-Digital Converter) 방식과 디지털 출력인 경우에 $I^2C$(Inter-Integrated Circuit), SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface Bus) 통신방식 및 GPIO(General-Purpose Input/Output)를 통해 사용한 방식에 따른 여러 가지 센서 인터페이스 컨트롤러의 설계가 가능하다. 이미지 센서를 이용해서 영상 처리 하드웨어 설계가 가능하고 더불어 영상 및 영상처리 결과를 모니터에 출력하는 VGA(Video Graphics Array) 컨트롤러 설계도 가능하다. 본 장비는 유,무선 네트워크에 통신이 가능한 IOT 시스템을 위해서 한 칩에 디지털 하드웨어와 Linux System을 결합한SOC(System on Chip) 설계가 가능하다. 이 장비를 이용해서 "이미지센서 기반의 하드웨어 설계와 가속도센서 기반의 하드웨어 설계"의 사례를 소개하고 그 설계를 기반으로 "FPGA를 이용한 디지털시스템 설계" 교과목의 교육 가능한 사례를 소개한다. 학생들에 의해서 새롭게 설계한 하드웨어를 본 FPGA를 이용해서 하드웨어 장비에 적용시키는 능력을 배양할 수 있고, 또한 개념설계, 부분설계, 상세설계를 통해서 FPGA 기반 하드웨어의 창의적 종합설계 능력을 키울 수 있다.

상지 편마비 환자의 능동형 재활운동을 위한 양측성 훈련 인터페이스 기법에 대한 연구 (Study on Bilateral Exercise Interface Techniques for Active Rehabilitation of the Upper Limb Hemiplegia)

  • For the self-directed rehabilitation of upper extremity hemiplegia patients, in this paper we propose an interface method capable of doing bilateral exercises in rehabilitation robotics. This is a method for estimating information of movements from the unaffected-side, and projects it to the affected-side in order. That the affected-side is followed the movements of the unaffected-side. For estimation of the unaffected-side movements information, gyro sensor data and acceleration sensor data were fused. In order to improve the measurement error in data fusion, a HDR filter and a complementary filter were applied. Estimated motion information is derived the one side of the drive input of rehabilitation robot. In order to validate the proposed method, experimental equipment is designed to be similar to the body's joints. The verification was performed by comparing the estimation angle data from inertial sensors and the encoder data which were attached to the mechanism.
