  • As a new class of electroluminescent (EL) polymers, PPV-based polymers containing sulfone group in the main chain were synthesized through Witting polymerization reaction to control n-conjugation length and energy levels for predictable light emission and enhanced device performance. These EL polymers showed good solubility in common organic solvents and high thermal stability with initial decomposition temperature of ca. $400^{circ}$ and glass transition temperature around $200^{circ}C$ Emission colors were tuned from green to deep blue by reducing ${\pi}$-conjugated length between sulfone groups. It was also noted from the cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements and semiempirical calculations that sulfone group with high electron affinity effectively lowered HOMO-LUMO energy levels to enhance EL device performance.

  • Indium phosphide (InP) quantum dots (QDs) are considered alternatives to Cd-containing QDs for application in light-emitting devices. The multishell coating with ZnSe/ZnS was shown to improve the photoluminescence quantum yield (QY) of InP QDs more strongly than the conventional ZnS shell coating. Structural proof for this system was provided by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. QY values in the range of 50-70% along with peak widths of 45-50 nm can be routinely achieved, making the optical performance of InP/ZnSe/ZnS QDs comparable to that of Cd-based QDs. The fabrication of a working electroluminescent light-emitting device employing the reported material demonstrated the feasibility of the desired application.

  • The thin-film passivation technology using the poly-para-xylylene (parylene) was applied to polymer electroluminescent devices. The fabricated device shows a good luminescent characteristic of maximum 11640 cd/$m^2$. The measured lifetime was reached up to 28 hours, which means the effectiveness of the passivation. Applying the parylene thin-film passivation technique, 10${\times}$10 passive matrix display system was implemented and obtained some still images.

  • We have developed a top-emitting white organic electroluminescent device (TWOLED) incorporating a low-reflectivity molybdenum (Mo) anode and doped transport layers as well as a dual-layer architecture of doped blue and yellow emitters with the same blue host. The EL efficiency and operational lifetime of TWOLED can be enhanced by a factor of 1.2 and 3.4 than that of standard TWOLED, respectively, with a co-doping technology in yellow emitter by doping another blue dopant. The enhancement in device performances can be attributed to improve the energy transfer efficiency from blue host to yellow dopant through a blue dopant as medium in yellow emitter.

  • We studied about luminance characteristics of blue organic electroluminecent device as thickness ratio. The device is fabricated TPD(N,N'-dyphenyl-N-N'-bis(3-methyphenyl) -1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine) as hole transport layer and Butyl -PBD(1,1,4,4-Tetraphenyl-1,3-butadiene) as emission layer and electron transport layer. Total thickness is 1000${\AA}$ as HTL and ETL, each devices has 500${\AA}$:500${\AA}$. 400${\AA}$:600${\AA}$ and 600${\AA}$:400${\AA}$ of TPD : Butyl-PBD. We obtained the maximum brightness about 175cd/㎡ 500${\AA}$: 500${\AA}$ thickness devices as HTL:ETL

  • To implementation of white electroluminescnet device in this paper, two methods were tried without synthesis of new white EL phosphor. At first, ZnS:Mn,Cl was mixed with ZnS:Cu from 20 to 50 weight percents. Second, ZnS:Mn,Cl was mixed with blue dye from 0 to 1.2 weight percents. The devices for experiments were measured as following; current-voltage, emission spectrum, brightness-voltage and CIE coordinate system and frequency properties.

  • Electroluminescence is occurred when phosphor is located in electric field. Object of this research show powder electroluminescent device (PELD) for high brightness compared with conventional PELD. Single layer of PELD structured as follow (ITO/phosphor + dielectric/silver paste). To investigate optical properties of PELDS, EL spectrum, CIE coordinate system, Brightness of PELDs was measured. The suitable ratio between phosphor and dielectric in single layer of PELD was 7:3(phosphor: dielectric). At 200 V4OO Hz, high performance of PELD which had ratio of 7:3

  • Electroluminescence is occurred by electric filed located in the phosphor. Until now most of EL researched have been studied the characteristics of devices that drive over 400Hz and commercialized, but in Problems of life time, natural aging increased with behavior of high frequency in the phosphor. In this paper, we investigated the luminescence characteristics were driven by low frequency($0{\sim}100Hz$). Moreover, we Presented the improvement way in the method device production and drive power as measurement at commercial frequency(60Hz).
