Effects of Low Workfunction Metal Acetate Layers on the Electroluminescent Characteristics of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (저일함수 금속 아세트산 화합물 층을 사용한 유기발광다이오드의 전기발광 특성 향상)

  • We investigated the effects of a cathode underlayer on the electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) using various metal acetates (M-acetate, M = Li, Na, K, Cs) as a cathode underlayer. When 1 nm thick M-acetate layers were used as a cathode underlayer, the OLEDs with M-acetate showed better EL performance than the device with the conventional LiF electron injection layer except the device with Cs-acetate. More enhanced current density and improved EL characteristics were obtained when lower work function metal acetate was employed. In addition, the optimum M-acetate layer thickness that gives the best device performance proved to be 0.7 and 2.0 nm for Li-acetate and Cs-acetate, respectively, probably depending on the molecular size of M-acetate. The OLEDs with the M-acetate layers of optimized thickness demonstrated more than 60% enhanced current efficiency compared with that of the device using an LiF layer at the same applied voltage.

  • ZnS는 전기적 에너지를 받으면 전자와 정공이 무수히 발생하며 이들이 평형상태로 갈 때 보다 높은 준위로 여기 되면 빛이 생성 될 수 있다. 전계발광(EL) 표시장치를 제작하기 위하여 일본의 High purity 사의 제품이 비교적 Electron Beam으로 증착하기에 우수하였고, 휘도도 상용화된 800fL에 80% 수준으로 제작과정을 개선하여 더욱 우수한 결과를 얻을 수 있고 본 연구는 Yellow의 경우 650fL의 휘도를 얻었고, Green의 경우 350 fL의 휘도를 얻었다. Electron Beam 제작용으로 자체 제작된 기판 홀더로 막을 제작한 결과 두께 균일도는 6% 내외의 결과로 상당히 우수한 특성을 나타내었다.

  • Electroluminescence is occurred when phosphor is located in electric field. In this paper, we made powder electroluminescent device (PELD) with structured ITO film/phosphor/Insulator/silver paste. The transparent electrode was ITO film and green(2704-01) and orange(2702-02) and blue-green(2703-01) were used as phosphor. The insulator was $BaTiO_3$ and $Y_2O_3$, back electrode was silver paste. To investigate electrical and optical properties of PELDs, EL spectrum, Brightness, Transferred charge density using Sawyer-Towers circuit was measured.

  • The paper considers a distributed adaptive control technique for industrial robots which contribute to the factory automation. The control object is to tracking for a desired trajectories under various load conditions., rapidly against load variation these control techniques divided whole system into subsystems which is controlled with the nominal and adaptation controllers, and also the asymptotic stability of these substem was proved. Simulation results shown that the proposed techniques was feasible in spite of nonlinear dynamics of robot manipulator and payload variations.

  • Poly-o-toluidine (POT) was chemically and electrochemically synthesized for the study of electronic and steric effect of methyl substituents. The turn-on voltage of organic light emitting diode (OLED) was 9~14 V. ITO/POT/Al structured OLED were fabricated with various oxidation states of POT. PL, I-V characteristics and EL spectra were investigated.

Synthesis and Light-emitting Properties of Random Copolymers Composed of Phenylsilyl- and Alkoxy-Sustituted Phenylenevinylene

  • New random copolymers of phenylsilyl- and alkoxy-substituted phenylenevinylene, DMPS(9)-MEH(1)-PPV, DMPS(5)- MEH(5)-PPV and DMPS(1)-MEH(9)-PPV, have been synthesized by the Gilch dehydrohalogenation route, and the light-emitting properties of these polymers have been studied. The synthesized polymers were completely soluble in common organic solvents, and exhibited good thermal stability, almost up to $380^{\circ}C$. They showed UV-visible absorbance and photoluminescence (PL) in the ranges of 422-510 and 513-590 nm, respectively, according to their feed ratios. Electroluminescent devices were fabricated with these polymers as emitting layers, and ITO and Al as anode and cathode, respectively. DMPS(1)-MEH(9)-PPV, DMPS(5)-MEH(5)-PPV and DMPS(9)-MEH(1)-PPV exhibited EL emission maxima at 575 nm, 565 nm, and 541 nm, respectively.

  • We investigated the effect of electron injection layer on the performance of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs). As an electron injection layer, the quinolate metal complexes were used. We optimized the device efficiency by varying the thickness of the quinolate metal complexes layer. The device with 1 nm of the quinolate metal complexes layer showed significant enhancement of the device performance and device lifetime. We also compared the effect of 8-hydroxyquinolinolatolithium (Liq) with that of bis(8-quinolinolato)-zinc ($Znq_{2}$) and 8-hydroxyquinolinolatosodium (Naq) as an electron injection layer. As a result, Liq is considered as a better materials for the electron injection layer than $Znq_{2}$ and Naq.

  • ZnS:Cu,Cl phosphor was synthesized by solid-liquid state reaction with two firing steps. Each stage of the process was carefully monitored so that the final product was comparable to commercially-available phosphor. The effect of $Cu^{2+}-doping$ concentration has been investigated on the luminescence characteristics of ZnS:Cu,Cl blue-green phosphors for inorganic electroluminescent device.

  • To implementation of white electroluminescnet device in this paper, two methods were tried without synthesis of new white EL phosphor. At first, ZnS:Mn,Cl was mixed with ZnS:Cu from 20 to 50 weight percents. Second, ZnS:Mn,Cl was mixed with blue dye from 0 to 1.2 weight percents. The devices for experiments were measured as following; current-voltage, emission spectrum, brightness-voltage and CIE coordinate system and frequency properties.

  • Electroluminescence is occurred by electric filed located in the phosphor. Until now most of EL researched have been studied the characteristics of devices that drive over 400Hz and commercialized, but in Problems of life time, natural aging increased with behavior of high frequency in the phosphor. In this paper, we investigated the luminescence characteristics were driven by low frequency($0{\sim}100Hz$). Moreover, we Presented the improvement way in the method device production and drive power as measurement at commercial frequency(60Hz).
