  • In this paper, we analyze the communication performance in a time synchronous multi-channel environment and deal with a packet collision avoidance technique to improve it based on IEEE1609.4 for increasing the efficiency of the control channel IEEE802.11p WAVE communication system. In previous works, they tried to solve this problem by message scheduling method on application layer software or changing the value of the random back-off optionally Contention Window. In this paper, we propose a method for adjusting the Channel Guard Interval for packet collision avoidance. The performance was evaluated by the actual vehicle test. The result was confirmed performance over 90% PDR(Packet Delivery Ratio).

  • Overcurrent and abnormal voltages in the distribution system can cause not only burden of power plant but also damage to customers. As a result, researches related to the distribution automation have been widely conducted by utilizing a real time digital simulation to improve the reliability of power supply through rapid failure handing, reduction of power failure intervals and failure recovery. However, the distribution automation systems using the real time digital simulator are expensive and limited to verify actual hardwares. Therefore, in this paper, an external hardware devices was developed based on the distribution system analysis results of the digital simulator. And real-time simulation and functional verification are implemented by the real feeder remote terminal units used in distribution automation. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified through several experiments.

  • The construction of medium-and large-sized microgrid systems by unit area, which is being promoted worldwide, is being developed and expanded in the form of efficient operation of electric grids and independent operation in preparation for power emergencies. Therefore, for the development of the domestic electricity industry, it is urgent to analyze the current status and technology of relevant international standardization, and to make international standardization of domestic standard (draft) on the matters that need to be enacted and newly established. Campus microgrid implements smart grid element technologies such as Integrated Energy Management System(EMS), Distributed Power(DG), Energy Storage System(ESS), Demand Response(DR), and Electric Vehicle(EV) in a university campus. As a system that reduces energy use and improves energy use efficiency and energy independence, standardization is established to secure interoperability and reliability of such systems.

  • Autonomous train is investigated to increase the capacity of railroad, and the reliability of wireless communication plays a critical role in terms of decreasing the inter-train distance. In this paper, we propose a transmission scheme for autonomous train communication in highly congested environment. The proposed scheme, namely distributed uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) random access (UORA), applies the triggered uplink access (TUA) and the UORA, introduced in the sixth generation WLAN standard, IEEE 802.11ax, for communication devices on vehicle and platform in a distributed manner. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme efficiently improves the packet transmission success rate in highly congested channel conditions compared to the conventional enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) transmission scheme.

  • In the case of a small UUV operating an active synthetic aperture sonar, various velocity disturbances may occur on the path due to the influence of external underwater environment, and this causes phase errors in coherent synthetic aperture processing, which has a large influence on the detected image. In this paper, when a periodic sinusoidal velocity disturbance is generated in the traveling direction, the phase generated by the round trip slope range at each position is estimated the cross correlation coefficient for multiple received signals and compensated the position variation in the overlapped DPC by the average value within the maximum allowable width. Through simulations, it has been confirmed that the images degraded by the velocity disturbance amplitude and fluctuating frequency of the UUV are removed from the false targets and the performance of azimuth resolution is improved by the proposed phase compensation method.

  • Transparent film heaters (TFHs) based on Joule heating are currently an active research area. However, TFHs based on an indium tin oxide (ITO) monolayer have a number of problems. For example, heating is concentrated in part of the device. Also, heating efficiency is low because it has high sheet resistance ($R_S$). Resistance of indium zinc oxide (IZO) is similar to ITO and it can be used to flexible applications due to its amorphous structure. To solve these problems, our study introduced hybrid layers of IZO/Ag/IZO deposited by magnetron sputtering, and the electrical, optical, and thermal properties were estimated for various thickness of the metal interlayer. It was found that the sheet resistance of the multilayer was mainly dependent on the thickness of the Ag layers. The $R_S$ of IZO(40)/Ag/IZO(40nm) multilayer was 5.33, 3.29, $2.15{\Omega}/{\Box}$ for Ag thickness of 10, 15, and 20nm, respectively, while the $R_S$ of an IZO monolayer(95nm) was $59.58{\Omega}/{\Box}$. The optical transmittance at 550nm for the IZO(95nm) monolayer is 81.6%, and for the IZO(40)/Ag/IZO(40nm) multilayers with Ag thickness 10, 15 and 20nm, is for 72.8, 78.6, and 63.9%, respectively. The defrost test showed that the film with the lowest RS had the highest heat generation rate (HGR) for the same applied voltage. The results indicated that IZO(40)/Ag(15)/IZO(40nm) multilayer has the best suitable property, which is a promising thin film heater for the application in vehicle windshield.

  • This paper presents the development and application of a conducting shape memory polyurethane (CSMPU) actuator. While conventional shape memory polyurethanes were activated by external heat source, conducting shape memory polyurethanes introduced in 2004 are activated by electric power. Conducting shape memory polyurethane actuators were manufactured by adding carbon nano tube to conventional shape memory polyurethane. The main problem of the CSMPU developed in 2004 was bad dispersion of carbon nano tubes. In this paper, we tried to find how to solve the dispersion problem, and with a lot of elaborative works, conducting shape memory polyurethane actuators which had better electrical characteristics were developed. Then the actuation performance of the conducting shape memory polyurethane actuators was also measured and assessed. Finally, the possibility of applications were examined through the installation to Micro Air Vehicle.

  • To realize copper-based electrode materials for printed electronics applications, it is necessary to improve the adhesion strength between conductive lines and the substrate. Here, we report the preparation of Cu pastes using (3-glycidoxypropyl) trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) prepolymer as an adhesion promoter (AP). The Cu pastes were screen-printed on glass and polyimide (PI) substrates and sintered at high temperatures (> $250^{\circ}C$) under a formic acid/$N_2$ environment. According to the adhesion strengths and electrical conductivities of the sintered Cu films, the optimized Cu paste was composed of 1.0 wt % GPTMS prepolymer, 83.6 wt % Cu powder and 15.4 wt % vehicle. After sintering at $400^{\circ}C$ on a glass substrate and $275^{\circ}C$ on a PI substrate, the Cu films showed the sheet resistances of $10.0m{\Omega}/sq$. and $5.2m{\Omega}/sq$., respectively. Furthermore, the sintered Cu films exhibit excellent adhesion properties according to the results of the ASTM-D3359 standard test.

  • Without human dynamics effects, the manually operated target tracking system has poor performance or instability in real environments. The tracking system is invalid when a human is added to the control loop as a real time delay, because input signals are generated by human operator to reduce the errors between target and gun. In this paper, we consider the human operator as a part of controller and modeling the human operator as a first-order model to generate the intentional force. But it is known that human modeling is not easy because of disturbance or noise of the vehicle while moving for the target. We performed a variety of experiments with real plant to identify the model's parameters and verify the proposed operator model's efficiency.
