  • Decomposition products by crosslinking reaction of PE using Dicumylperoxide(DCP) should influence on the electrical properties in XLPE. This paper studies on Behaviors of Decomposition products and Electrical Treeing ding to Drying condition. We used the Gas Chromatography for Decomposition Gases analysis FT-IR for investigating the behaviors of Decomposition products remained in XLPE Break Down Voltage Tester for Electrical Treeing measurement.

  • Studies on treeing phenomena have depended on the visual measurement using optical microscope. In the visual measurement, it is difficult to analyze the treeing in real time because voltages are applied discontinuously and impossible to calculate the deterioated area by treeing. Only tree type and length are studied. In this paper, image processing is introduced and voltages are applied continuously. The tree length and area are calculated in real time from tree inception to breakdown. Growing characteristics about tree types are compared for the normalized breakdown time.

  • 영상처리 방식을 이용하여 유기 절연재료의 트리잉 열화를 측정하였다. 전통적으로 목측(가시측정)에 의한 트리현상 변화를 관찰해 왔으나 트리형상 특징과 변화를 이해하는데 정확한 측정에 어려움을 만들었다. 영상처리 시스템을 이용한 트리 측정장치를 이용하여 트리진전길이와 열화면적들의 고유특성을 영상처리 시스템을 이용하여 목측치와 거의 대등한 결과가 나오는 트리진전 영상처리 자동계측 시스템을 구현하였다.

  • Three kinds of treeing inhibitors are added to investigate the effect on electrical properties of XLPE. The treeing inhibitors are barbituric acid, 4- (4-Nitrophenylazo) resorcinol and 4-(4-Nitrophenylazo) naphthol. Added amount of each treeing inhibitors varied form 0phr to 2.0phr. In order to know the changes of electrical properties, break down strength, tan$\delta$, and $\varepsilon$$_{r}$ were measured. Experimental results showed that electrical properties of each sample was slightly changed by amount of additives.s.

  • XLPE is occasionally happened to deteriorate cable insulation characteristics. It is happened to do a breakdown state by the degradation of electrical characteristic and electrical breakdown strength. I prepared TR-XLPE (Tree-Retardant XLPE) as adding various additives to prevent its states. Various additives are treeing retardants, anti-oxidants. Treeing retardants three kinds of aromatic compounds as adding each additive. Anti-oxidants use quinone compound and cresol compound as adding each additive. In order to observe each electrical characteristics, I measured breakdown strength, relative dielectric constant$({\varepsilon}_r)$, dielectric loss tangent$(tan{\delta})$. TR-XLPE specimens as adding treeing retardants and anti-oxidants enhance breakdown strength, ${\varepsilon}_r$, $tan{\delta}$ than pure XLPE.

  • In this paper, the reliability test of three kinds of epoxy resin for GIS Spacer, which is a high voltage based heavy electric machine, AC electrical treeing experiments were performed. Three types of epoxy resins, Araldite B41, CT 5531 CI and B46, have slight viscosity differences. An non-uniform electric field, E = 1149.4 kV/mm, as the needle to plate electrode, a power source with a frequency of 1 kHz was applied to the tree electrode for accelerated deterioration. The treeing phenomena of the three kinds of epoxy resin all initiated, propagated, and destroyed by the branch tree. Epoxy Resin B46 was 145 times longer than B41 and 53 times longer than CT 5531CI. I think that the choice of epoxy resin is very important in choosing high voltage heavy electric machine insulation materials.

  • This paper is to investigate relationships between tree inception voltage, tree extension or treeing breakdown voltage and physical characteristics changing as parameter of the post-cured conditions of thermo-setting epoxy resin. According to the results in this paper, the optimal tree inception voltage and treeing breakdown voltage of the samples are obtained for the sample post cured for 15 hours at 100 'C. It can be noticed that these results are closely related with the state of interior molecule coupling and three-dimen sional cross-linked of thermo-setting epoxy resin. And tree inception, tree extension and treeing breakdown of the samples are affected significantly on the post-cured conditions and the cooling method after post-cured of thermo-setting epoxy resin. Moreover, the tree extension by ambient temperature are closely related with softening temperature of thermo-setting epoxy resin.

  • Treeing inhibitors of barbituric acid derivatives effects on the electrical properties of crosslinked low density polyethylene under radiation environments were investigated. The electrical parameters for tree inception voltage, AC breakdown strength, volume resistivity, capacitance and dissipation factor at 1MHz and thermoluminescence, gel content measurements were discussed as a function of irradiated dosages. From the results, barbituric acid among the treeing inhibitors was shown the best treeing and radiation resistance.
