Influence of hydraulic retention time on biogas production during leachate treatment

  • The main objective of this study is to investigate the influence of hydraulic retention time (HRT) on biogas production during leachate treatment using an anaerobic reactor type Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket. For this purpose, four HRTs ranging from 12 to 48 h were experienced. The obtained results showed that higher amount of biogas could be produced during longer HRTs. However, HRTs longer than 48 h could not affect clearly the biogas generation and considered as unnecessary given the small additional amount of biogas produced during the degradation process. A volume of $0.434L/L_{leachate}/d$ was achieved during the treatment with a HRT of 48 h. The higher biogas production, the smaller chemical oxygen demand (COD) values achieved. Besides, COD removal and biogas production positively correlate, showing that the active biomass has degraded effectively the organic load to produce biogas. Moreover, all the analyzed physicochemical parameters have experienced a decrease after 48 h except for the pH, which increased to approximately neutral value. More precisely, a decrease of 93.8%, 89.7%, 95%, 70%, 77%, and 84.4% was recorded for COD, electrical conductivity, total suspended solid, turbidity, $NH_4{^+}-N$, and $NO_3{^-}-N$, respectively.

  • 본 논문에서는 간섭 환경을 고려하여 디코딩 후 전달 중계 시스템에서 최적의 중계 노드 선택 기법에 대한 아웃티지 확률을 레일레이 페이딩 채널을 가정하여 분석한다. 그리고, 아웃티지 성능 결과를 토대로 최적의 중계 노드 선택을 위하여 이용되는 중계 노드 후보들의 유효한 집합을 결정하는 방법을 제안한다. 여기서, 중계 노드 후보들의 유효한 집합은 시스템에서 중계 노드 선택을 위하여 주어진 중계 노드들 중 성능 개선에 기여하지 못하는 중계 노드들을 제외한 집합을 의미한다. 중계 노드 후보들의 유효한 집합 결정은 성능의 저하를 최소화하면서 채널 정보의 피드백오버헤드를 절감시키고 중계 노드들의 불필요한 에너지 낭비를 방지할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 중계 노드 후보들의 유효한 집합 결정에 영향을 주는 중요한 변수를 제공한다.

  • 본 논문은 현재 청정에너지의 개념으로 대두되고 있는 에너지원 가운데 기계적인 에너지로 저장하여 필요 시 꺼내어 사용할 수 있는 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치에 대한 에너지 입, 출력 모델링 및 PWM 인버터 시스템의 해석 및 제어에 관한 논문으로서, 플라이휠 저장장치 특성 및 시스템 모델링에 관해 논의한다. 재질에 따른 플라이휠의 특성과 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치의 속도 특성에 따른 전압과 전류의 변화량을 수식으로 간략화 하여 분석하고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 플라이휠의 에너지 저장상태를 분석하였다. 또한, 부하측 전원의 이상유무에 관계없이 에너지를 공급할 수 있는 Online UPS로 사용하기 위해 PDFF 제어기법을 이용하여 전압제어 및 전류제어의 이중루프 제어로 구성된 단상 PW방식의 인버터 시스템 제작하였으며, 실험을 통하여 실제로 0.1[p.u], 1[p.u]에서의 제어되는 전압, 전류제어파형 및 THD 특성에 관하여 평가한다.

Line Impedance Estimation Based Adaptive Droop Control Method for Parallel Inverters

  • This paper presents a new load sharing control for use between paralleled three-phase inverters in an islanded microgrid based on the online line impedance estimation by the use of a Kalman filter. In this study, the mismatch of power sharing when the line impedance changes due to temperature, frequency, significant differences in line parameters and the requirements of the Plug-and-Play mode for inverters connected to a microgrid has been solved. In addition, this paper also presents a new droop control method working with the line impedance that is different from the traditional droop algorithm when the line impedance is assumed to be pure resistance or pure inductance. In this paper, the line impedance estimation for parallel inverters uses the minimum square method combined with a Kalman filter. In addition, the secondary control loops are designed to restore the voltage amplitude and frequency of a microgrid by using a combined nominal value SOGI-PLL with a generalized integral block and phase lock loop to monitor the exact voltage magnitude and frequency phase at the PCC. A control model has been simulated in Matlab/Simulink with three voltage source inverters connected in parallel for different ratios of power sharing. The simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed control method.

Short channel SONOSFET 비휘발성 기억소자의 Si-$SiO_2$ 계면특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Si-$SiO_2$ interface in Short channel SONOSFET Nonvolatile Memories)

  • In this study, the characteristics of Si-$SiO_2$ interface and its degradation in short channel SONOSFET nonvolatile memory devices, fabricated by 1Mbit CMOS process($1.2{\mu}m$ design rule), with $65{\AA}$ blocking oxide layer, $205{\AA}$ nitride layer, and $30{\AA}$ tunneling oxide layer on the silicon wafer were investigated using the charge pumping method. For investigating the Si-$SiO_2$ interface characteristics before and after write/erase cycling, charge pumping current characteristics with frequencies, write/erase cycles, as a parameters, were measured. As a result, average Si-$SiO_2$ interface trap density and mean value of capture cross section were determined to be $1.203{\times}10^{11}cm^{-2}eV^{-1}\;and\;2.091{\times}10^{16}cm^2$ before write/erase cycling, respectively. After cycling, when the write/erase cycles are $10^4$, average $Si-SiO_2$ interface trap density was $1.901{\times}10^{11}cm^{-2}eV^{-1}$. Incresing write/erase cycles beyond about $10^4$, Si-$SiO_2$ interface characteristics with write/erase cycles was increased logarithmically.

L-band 30-MW 클라이스트론용 고출력 펄스트랜스포머의 파라미터 평가 (Parameter Evaluation of High-Power Pulse Transformer for L-Band 30-MW Klystron)

  • An L-band Linear Accelerator System for E-beam sterilization is under construction for bio-technology application. The klystron-modulator system as an RF microwave source has an important role as major components to offer the system reliability for long time steady-state operations. A PFN line type pulse generator with a peak power of 71.5-MW, $7\;{\mu}s$, 285 pps is required to drive a high-power klystron. The high power pulse transformer has a function of transferring pulse energy from a pulsed power source to a high power load. The pulse transformer producing a pulse with a peak voltage of 275 kV is required to produce 30-MW peak and 60 kW average RF output power at the frequency of 1.3-GHz. We have designed the high power pulse transformer with 1:13 step-up ratio. The peak and average power capability is 71.5-MW (275 kV, 260 A at load side with $7\;{\mu}s$ pulse width) and 130 kW, respectively. In this paper, we present measurements and its analysis on the design parameters, and an initial test result as well as a design concept on the high-power pulse transformer.

종자 결정 성장법으로 제조된 $GdBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ 벌크 초전도체의 자기적 특성 (Magnetic Properties of $GdBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ Bulk Superconductors Fabricated by a Top-seeded Melt Growth Process)

  • The fabrications condition and superconducting properties of top-seeded melt growth (TSMG) processed $GdBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ (Gd123) bulk superconductors were studied. Processing parameters (a maximum temperature ($T_{max}$), a temperature for crystal growth ($T_G$) and a cooling rate ($R_G$) through a peritectic temperature ($T_P$) for the fabrication of single grain Gd123 superconductors were optimized. The magnetic levitation forces, trapped magnetic fields, superconducting transition temperature ($T_c$) and critical current density ($J_c$) of the Gd123 bulks superconductors were estimated. Single grain Gd123 bulk superconductors were successfully fabricated at the optimized processing condition. The $T_c$ of a TSMG processed Gd123 sample was 92.5 K and the $J_c$ at 77 K and 0 T was approximately $50kA/cm^2$. The trapped magnetic field contour and magnetic levitation forces were dependent on the top surface morphology of TSMG processed Gd123 samples. The single grain Gd123 samples, field-cooled at 77 K using a Nd-B-Fe permanent magnet with 5.27 kG and 30 mm dia., showed the trapped magnetic field contour of a single grain with a maximum of 4 kG at the sample center. The maximum magnetic levitation forces of the single grain Gd123 sample, field-cooled or zero field-cooled, were 40 N and 107 N, respectively.

바이어스 스트레스에 의한 실리콘-게르마늄 이종접합 바이폴라 트랜지스터의 열화 현상 (The degradation phenomena in SiGe hetero-junction bipolar transistors induced by bias stress)

  • 바이어스 스트레스 인가 후에 발생하는 실리콘-게르마늄 이종접합 바이폴라 트랜지스터(SiGe HBT)의 열화현상을 고찰하였다. SiGe HBT가 바이어스 스트레스에 일정 시간 노출되면 소자 내부의 변화에 의하여 소자 파라미터가 원래 값으로부터 벗어나게 된다. 에미터-베이스 접합에 역방향 바이어스 스트레스가 걸리면 전기장에 의해 가속된 캐리어가 재결합 중심을 생성하여 베이스 전류가 증가하고 전류이득이 감소한다. $140^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서 높은 에미터 전류를 흘려주는 순방향 바이어스 전류 스트레스가 가해지면 Auger recombination이나 avalancHe multiplication에 의해 형성된 핫 캐리어가 전류이득의 변동을 유발한다. 높은 에미터 전류와 콜렉터-베이스 전압이 동시에 인가되는 mixed-mode 스트레스가 가해지면 에미터-베이스 역방향 바이어스 스트레스의 경우와 마찬가지로 베이스 전류가 증가한다. 그러나 miked-mode 스트레스 인가 후에는 inverse mode Gummel 곡선에서 베이스 전류 증가가 관찰되고 perimeter-to-area(P/A) 비가 작은 소자가 심각하게 열화되는 등 에미터-베이스 역방향 바이어스 스트레스와는 근본적으로 다른 신뢰성 저하 양상이 나타난다.

DLC와 PTFE표면코팅에 따른 자기유변유체의 마찰 마모 특성 (Friction and Wear Characteristics of Magneto-rheological Fluid Depend on Surface Coated by DLC and PTFE)

  • A magnetorheological (MR) fluid is a smart material whose rheological behavior can be controlled by varying the parameters of the applied magnetic field. Because the damping force and shear force of an MR fluid can be controlled using a magnetic field, it is widely employed in many industrial applications, such as in vehicle vibration control, powertrains, high-precision grinding processes, valves, and seals. However, the characteristics of friction caused by iron particles inside the MR fluid need to be understood and improved so that it can be used in practical applications. Surface process technologies such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coatings and diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings are widely used to improve the surface friction properties. This study examines the friction characteristics of an MR fluid with different surface process technologies such as PTFE coatings and DLC coatings, by using a reciprocating friction tester. The coefficients of friction are in the following descending order: MR fluid without any coating, MR fluid with a DLC coating, and MR fluid with a PTFE coating. Scanning electron microscopy is used to observe the worn surfaces before and after the experiment. In addition, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy is used to analyze the chemical composition of the worn surface. Through a comparison of the results, the friction characteristics of the MR fluid based on the different coating technologies are analyzed.

연마제 특성에 따른 차세대 금속배선용 Al CMP (chemical mechanical planarization) 슬러리 평가 (Evaluation of Al CMP Slurry based on Abrasives for Next Generation Metal Line Fabrication)

  • It is seriously considered using Al CMP (chemical mechanical planarization) process for the next generation 45 nm Al wiring process. Al CMP is known that it has a possibility of reducing process time and steps comparing with conventional RIE (reactive ion etching) method. Also, it is more cost effective than Cu CMP and better electrical conductivity than W via process. In this study, we investigated 4 different kinds of slurries based on abrasives for reducing scratches which contributed to make defects in Al CMP. The abrasives used in this experiment were alumina, fumed silica, alkaline colloidal silica, and acidic colloidal silica. Al CMP process was conducted as functions of abrasive contents, $H_3PO_4$ contents and pressures to find out the optimized parameters and conditions. Al removal rates were slowed over 2 wt% of slurry contents in all types of slurries. The removal rates of alumina and fumed silica slurries were increased by phosphoric acid but acidic colloidal slurry was slightly increased at 2 vol% and soon decreased. The excessive addition of phosphoric acid affected the particle size distributions and increased scratches. Polishing pressure increased not only the removal rate but also the surface scratches. Acidic colloidal silica slurry showed the highest removal rate and the lowest roughness values among the 4 different slurry types.
