고선량율 감마선 환경하에서의 카메라 관측성능 (Monitoring Performance of Camera under the High Dose-rate Gamma Ray Environment)

  • In this paper, the gamma ray irradiation test results of the CCD cameras are described. From the low dose-rate (2.11 Gy/h) to the high dose-rate (150 Gy/h) level, which is the same level when the hydrogen explosion was occurred in the 1~3 reactor unit of the Fukushima nuclear power plant, the monitoring performance of the cameras owing to the speckles are evaluated. The numbers of speckles, generated by gamma ray irradiation, in the image of cameras are calculated by image processing technique. And the legibility of the sensor indicator (dosimeter) owing to the numbers of the speckles is presented.

섭동 순궤환 비선형 계통의 신경망 직접 적응 제어기 (Direct Adaptive Neural Control of Perturbed Strict-feedback Nonlinear Systems)

  • An adaptive neural controller for perturbed strict-feedback nonlinear system is proposed. All the previous adaptive neural (or fuzzy) controllers are based on the backstepping scheme where the universal approximators are employed in every design steps. These schemes involve virtual controls and their time derivatives that make the stability analysis and implementation of the controller very complex. This fact is called 'explosion of complexty ' since the complexity grows exponentially as the system dynamic order increases. The proposed adaptive neural control scheme adopt the backstepping design procedure only for determining ideal control law and employ only one neural network to approximate the finally selected ideal controller, which makes the controller design procedure and stability analysis considerably simple compared to the previously proposed controllers. It is shown that all the time-varing signals containing tracking error are stable in the Lyapunov viewpoint.

  • As there expands the usage of Al-Cu connections to interface aluminum and copper in power distribution systems, efforts to mitigate the mechanical, electrical or electro-chemical degradation are widely spreading. The explosive bending technology, in particular, has been thought as a countermeasure for the degradation. In this paper, electrochemical analysis and optical microscopic observation are carried out in order to compare the corrosion resistivities of the commercial compression type bimetallic sleeve and the explosion type bimetallic sleeve. The results show that the explosive bonding technology can prevent the interfacial corrosion caused by the formation of crevices and pits as well as from galvanic potential difference.

  • In present, most of metallic structures(gas pipeline, oil pipeline, water pipeline, etc) are running parallel with subway and power line in seoul. Moreover subway system and power line make a stray current due to electrical corrosion on metallic structures. The owner of metallic structures has a burden of responsibility for the protection of corrosion and the prevention against big accident such as gas explosion or soil pollution and so on. So, they have to measure and analyze the data about P/S(Pipe to Soil) potential, amplitude of stray current, point of source of stray current and so. In this paper, results of development about data logger apparatus for measurement stray current of subway and power line are presented.

  • Modern applications such as augmented reality, connected vehicles, video streaming and gaming have stringent requirements on latency, bandwidth and computation resources. The explosion in data generation by mobile devices has further exacerbated the situation. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is a recent addition to the edge computing paradigm that amalgamates the cloud computing capabilities with cellular communications. The concept of MEC is to relocate the cloud capabilities to the edge of the network for yielding ultra-low latency, high computation, high bandwidth, low burden on the core network, enhanced quality of experience (QoE), and efficient resource utilization. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive overview on different traits of MEC including its use cases, architecture, computation offloading, security, economic aspects, research challenges, and potential future directions.

Hand Gesture Recognition Suitable for Wearable Devices using Flexible Epidermal Tactile Sensor Array

  • With the explosion of digital devices, interaction technologies between human and devices are required more than ever. Especially, hand gesture recognition is advantageous in that it can be easily used. It is divided into the two groups: the contact sensor and the non-contact sensor. Compared with non-contact gesture recognition, the advantage of contact gesture recognition is that it is able to classify gestures that disappear from the sensor's sight. Also, since there is direct contacted with the user, relatively accurate information can be acquired. Electromyography (EMG) and force-sensitive resistors (FSRs) are the typical methods used for contact gesture recognition based on muscle activities. The sensors, however, are generally too sensitive to environmental disturbances such as electrical noises, electromagnetic signals and so on. In this paper, we propose a novel contact gesture recognition method based on Flexible Epidermal Tactile Sensor Array (FETSA) that is used to measure electrical signals according to movements of the wrist. To recognize gestures using FETSA, we extracted feature sets, and the gestures were subsequently classified using the support vector machine. The performance of the proposed gesture recognition method is very promising in comparison with two previous non-contact and contact gesture recognition studies.

  • Security systems for inland cargo truck transportation are mostly limited to route tracking for safe and efficient transportation. With this route tracking system, the status of cargo trucks can be monitored easily within inland boundaries. In case of oil transportation by land, however, security systems ensuring transportation of a designated quantity of products have been subject to extensive research since thefts and substitution by a similar product in the transportation process have emerged as a social problem. Security devices installed in an oil tank truck must meet the explosion-proof performance standards and be applicable to varying types of trucks. Accordingly, a wireless electronic seal with RF communication functions is considered to be the most appropriate method, but e-seals on moving vehicles require such levels of performance and reliability that can overcome certain challenges including changing radio waves and topographical impediments. Considering these characteristics of oil tank trucks, this study proposes an stabilization method to enhance the RF communication performance of e-seals, based on radio simulation and experiment findings.

  • 에폭시 분체도료는 부스닥트, 및 전기기기에 절연재료로 광범위하게 사용되어 진다. 특히 Coating 절연 방식의 경우 전류에 의한 줄 열로 인해 전기화재 및 폭발의 점화 원인이 된다. 본 연구는 에폭시분체도료의 열화특성에 대해 절연파괴, 아크방전, 수명특성(V-t)을 중심으로 비교검토하고 이에 대한 기초데이터 확보 및 전기화재 원인인 절연특성에 대해 연구 하였다. 온도변화에 따른 절연특성은 시편 KS가 유리전이온도(Tg) 이전까지 $8{\sim}10%$ 정도의 감소로 안정적이었다. V-t 및 아크방전특성의 경우, 열화시편에서도 안정적 특성을 유지하였다. 열화에 의한 전기적특성의 경우 시편KS가 우수한 성능을 가지고 있다.

  • In the hazardous areas where explosive gases, vapor or mists exist, electrical apparatus and installations must be of explosion-proof construction to prevent or limit the danger of the ignition of potentially explosive atmosphere. In Korea, nine types of protection have been specified in the government regulations at present: flameproof enclosure, pressurization, oil immersion, increased safety, intrinsic safety, non-incendive, sand filling, encapsulation, and special types. Among these types, the intrinsic safety has the construction which limit or by-pass igniting the electric energy using electronic devices. This type has lots of merits but at the same time requires a high-degree of technology. In this paper, we investigated several dominating factors which affect the minimum ignition energy: this energy plays a very important role in design and evaluation of the intrinsic safety type electrical apparatus. Eletrode material, which is one of the most important factors, was intensively studied for the five sorts of material(Al, Cd, Mg, Sn, and Zn) with performing experiment in a low-voltage inductive circuit using IEC-type spark apparatus. The experimental results show that the minimum ignition energy of electrode material is varied: highest in Cd and lowest in Sn. We also confirmed the effect of eletrode make-and-break speed and magnetic field magnitude.

  • Railway vehicle battery is supplying the power required for the initial start-up of the train, in the event of a fault in the vehicle, or catenary for supplying emergency power is one of the components are very important. Currently, the railway vehicles such as nickel-cadmium batteries are being used [1,2]. Ni-Cd batteries as a battery installed in the railway vehicles have a strong corrosion resistance is included, The charge-discharge performance is significantly degraded in cold weather, there is a danger of deterioration or explosion. Train accidents have been caused a lot of damage due to rapid deterioration and cracking of the battery and memory due to the effect of Ni-Cd batteries. In order to solve the problems, There is no risk of degradation, deterioration and leakage, cracking and exploding. maintenance is simple and applied measures proposed to apply Lithium Polymer battery of high performance. In addition, the lack of capacity problems identified by testing the different special systems is replaced by a 70Ah lithium-polymer battery is possible without changing the batteries of 50Ah caused by installing additional equipment in existing older trains were applied to the vehicle.
