전력선 통신과 무선 센서 네트워크 기술을 이용한 연동 통합제어 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Linkage Integration Control System Using Power Line Communication(PLC) and Wireless Sensor Network(WSN))

  • 전력선 통신은 별도의 통신선로가 필요 없어 저렴한 설치비용과 설치가 용이하고 접근이 간편해 다양한 응용시장 하부 네트워크가 가능하나 제한된 전송 데이터와 통신 장애 요소인 높은 부하 간섭과 잡음 문제가 있으며 무선 센서 네트워크는 기반 시설이 불필요하고 센서 노드들 간의 자체적 네트워크 구축이 가능하여 짧은 시간에 구현이 가능하나 QoS의 향상을 위한 능동적 센싱과 불필요한 정보전송으로 인한 전력소모의 증가로 인해 센서 노드의 수명 단축 문제로 저전력 설계와 개선된 프로토콜의 필요성이 언급되고 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전력선 통신과 무선 센서 네트워크의 문제를 상호 보완하고 장점은 더하여 연동 통합제어 시스템을 구축함으로써 두 기술의 시너지 효과를 이용해 보다 제약이 없고 원활한 네트워크 환경구축을 위해 개선된 제어 네트워크를 구조적으로 접근해보려 한다. 하니웰 사의 하이브리드 센서 네트워크를 비교 분석하고 네트워크 티밍(Teaming)을 제안하며 제안된 전력선 통신과 무선 센서 네트워크의 연동 통합제어 시스템(Linkage Intergration Control System)의 성능 향상의 정도를 시물레이션을 통해 새롭게 제안한 방식의 네트워크 및 개선안이 기존의 네트워크보다 서비스 지연이 줄어들고 성능 향상이 있었음을 확인하려 한다.

  • The recent rapid growth of air conditioning load has become a major reason of peak load increase in summer. In connection with this, we surveyed the load management projects of utilities world-wide and their detailed activities. This study is to develop a remote load control system using computer and radio communications. We finished the field-test of this system on August 1995 in Seoul area. During the field-test, the remote load control of air conditioners was proved to be well-timed. Two control modes, group control and all control, are available for the user to select. The transmission reliability of the load control signal was very good and the functions of system hardware as well as the software were excellent. So we confirmed the applicability of the load control system including the paper communication network. In this paper, detailed information on the system functions and experimental results are described.

  • LMP based pricing system has many merits over SMP. One of them is that network congestion can be managed by the market price together with congestion revenue rights. Korean power system has a peculiar property that the transmission line where network congestion occurs is known and does not vary. For such a system, zonal pricing method is considered to be appropriate as it is simpler than nodal pricing. In this paper, we did feasibility study on zone grouping method and tendency of zonal price compared with nodal price.

Identification of Key Nodes in Microblog Networks

  • A microblog is a service typically offered by online social networks, such as Twitter and Facebook. From the perspective of information dissemination, we define the concept behind a spreading matrix. A new WeiboRank algorithm for identification of key nodes in microblog networks is proposed, taking into account parameters such as a user's direct appeal, a user's influence region, and a user's global influence power. To investigate how measures for ranking influential users in a network correlate, we compare the relative influence ranks of the top 20 microblog users of a university network. The proposed algorithm is compared with other algorithms - PageRank, Betweeness Centrality, Closeness Centrality, Out-degree - using a new tweets propagation model - the Ignorants-Spreaders-Rejecters model. Comparison results show that key nodes obtained from the WeiboRank algorithm have a wider transmission range and better influence.

  • By development of renewable energy and more efficient facilities in an increasingly deregulated electricity market, the operation cost of distributed generation (DG) is becoming more competitive. International environmental regulations of the leaking carbon become effective to reinforce global efforts for a low-carbon paradigm. Through increased DG, operators of DG are able to supply electric power to customers who are connected directly to DG as well as loads that are connected to entire network. In this situation, a community energy system (CES) with DGs is a new participant in the energy market. DG's purchase price from the market is different from the DG's sales price to the market due to transmission service charges and other costs. Therefore, CES who owns DGs has to control the produced electric power per hourly period in order to maximize profit. Considering the international environment regulations, CE will be an important element to decide the marginal cost of generators as well as the classified fuel unit cost and unit's efficiency. This paper introduces the optimal operation of CES's DG connected to the distribution network considering CE. The purpose of optimization is to maximize the profit of CES. A Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) will be used to solve this complicated problem. The optimal operation of DG represented in this paper would guide CES and system operators in determining the decision making criteria.

스마트그리드 환경에서 전기자동차 배터리를 이용한 V2G의 활용방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the V2G Application using the Battery of Electric Vehicles under Smart Grid Environment)

  • This study examines the system and process of battery stored energy in vehicles and suggest the effective area for the use of V2G(vehicle-to-grid) from Jeju Smart Grid Demonstration Project. V2G means technology of electric power transmission from the battery of electric-drive vehicles to state grid. As for the increasing of effectiveness for demand-side control, V2G is a very good alternative. In the U.S., the utilization of electric vehicles is under 40% on average. In this case, we can use he battery of electric vehicle as role of frequency regulation or generator of demand-side resource. V2G, which is the element of Smart Transportation, consists of electric vehicle battery, BMS(battery management system), OBC(on-board charger), charging infrastructure, NOC(network operating center) and TOC(total operation center). V2G application has been tested for frequency regulation to secure the economical efficiency in the United States. In this case, the battery cycle life is not verified its disadvantage. On the other hand, Demand Response is required by low c-rate of battery in electric vehicle and It can be small impact on the battery cycle life. This paper concludes business area of demand response is more useful than frequency regulation in V2G application of electric vehicles in Korea. This provides the opportunity to create a new business for power grid administrator with VPP(virtual power plant).

D-TRS 무선망 환경에서의 패킷 데이터 성능 측정 (Packet Data Performance Measurement in D-TRS Wireless Network Environment)

  • TETRA는 유럽 전기 통신 표준협회에서 제안한 D-TRS 서비스의 표준이다. 현재 국가전력IT무선 기간망으로 TETRA가 채택되어, 다양한 활용을 위한 국가사업이 진행되고 있는 실정이다. 이와 같은 경우 TETRA 무선망을 이용하기 위해서는 TETRA 모뎀이 필요하게 된다. 따라서 각 제조사별로 존재하는 다양한 TETRA 모뎀의 성능 평가가 절실한 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 D-TRS 무선망 환경에서의 패킷 데이터 성능 평가를 위해 PED(Protocol Evaluation Data)를 제안하였다. 또한 Test Bed 상에서 TG(Traffic Generator)와 TA(Traffic Analyzer)를 이용하여 데이터 길이 및 전송 인터벌에 따른 성능 측정을 실시하여 모뎀의 성능을 알아보았다. 데이터 크기는 최초 10바이트에서 400바이트까지 10바이트씩 증가시키면서 측정하였고, 0.5초, 1초, 1.5초간격으로 각각 1000번 씩 전송하여 전송시간을 측정하였다. 측정한 전송시간을 바탕으로 평균전송속도, MER(Message Error Rate)을 도출하여 TETRA 모뎀 성능을 측정하였다. 본 논문에서 사용한 TETRA 모뎀은 EADS 사의 TMR880i 2대를 사용하였고, 교환기로는 EADS 사의 SwMI (Switching and Management Infrastructure)를 이용하였다.

  • TETRA는 유럽 전기 통신 표준협회(ETSI)에서 Digital Trucked Radio기반의 표준이다. 우리나라 국가전력IT 무선 기간망으로 TETRA가 채택되었다. 이와같은 상황에서 TETRA 무선망을 사용하기 위해서는 TETRA 모뎀이 필요하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 TETRA 네트워크에서의 트래픽에 따른 모뎀의 성능평가와 그 결과를 분석하였다. 본 논문에서는 ETSI에서 제안한 PEI(Peripheral Equipment Interface)에서 제시하는 전송 규격 중 SDS type-4 전송방식을 사용하였다. 성능 측정은 SDS로 전송하는 데이터의 크기와 전송간격을 조절하면서 실시하였다. 데이터 크기의 범위는 10바이트에서 140바이트까지 10바이트씩 증가하도록 하였다. 또한 각 전송 데이터 크기마다 전송 전송간격을 0.5초, 1초, 1.5초로 주어 각각 1000번씩 측정하였다. 본 논문에서 사용된 TETRA모뎀은 유니모에서 만든 MU-1000MD이고, 교환기는 Teltronic 사의 SwMI(Switching and Management Infrastructure)를 사용하였다.

Applying an Artificial Neural Network to the Control System for Electrochemical Gear-Tooth Profile Modifications

  • Gears, crucial components in modern precision machinery for power transmission mechanisms, are required to have low contacting noise with high torque transmission, which makes the use of gear-tooth profile modifications and gear-tooth surface crowning extremely efficient and valuable. Due to the shortcomings of current techniques, such as manual rectification, mechanical modification, and numerically controlled rectification, we propose a novel electrochemical gear-tooth profile modification method based on an artificial neural network control technique. The fundamentals of electrochemical tooth-profile modifications based on real-time control and a mathematical model of the process are discussed in detail. Due to the complex and uncertain relationships among the machining parameters of electrochemical tooth-profile modification processes, we used an artificial neural network to determine the required processing electric current as the tooth-profile modification requirements were supplied. The system was implemented and a practical example was used to demonstrate that this technology is feasible and has potential applications in the production of precision machinery.

측정전류전이법을 이용한 운전중인 접지시스템의 접지저항 측정 (Measurements of the Ground Resistance using the Test Current Transition Method in Powered Grounding Systems)

  • This paper presents an accurate method for measuring the ground resistance in powered grounding system. Most of substations and electric power equipments are interconnected to an extensive grounding network of overhead ground wires, neutral conductors of transmission lines, cable shields, and etc. The parasitic effects due to circulating ground currents and ground potential rise make a significant error in measuring the ground resistance. The test current transition method was proposed to reduce the effects of stray ground currents, ground potential rise and harmonic components in measurements of the ground resistance for powered grounding systems. The instrumental error of the test current transition method is decreased as the ratio of the test current signal to noise(S/N) increases. It was found from the test results that the proposed measuring method of the ground resistance is more accurate than the conventional fall-of-potential method or low-pass filter method, and the measuring error was less than 3[%]when S/N is 10.
