소형 태양광 무인 항공기의 비행실험에 관한 연구 (Study on Flight Test of Small Solar-Powered UAV)

  • In the present study, the preliminary study on a small solar-powered RC airplane are performed for the development of a long-endurance solar-powered UAV. Solar energy enables the solar-powered UAV to fly longer or eternally. The solar-powered UAV transfers the solar energy to electric energy and this energy is used for the flight and the battery charge. To increase the flying time, the efficiency of the solar-cell power system must be increased and the required power for flight must be minimized. Hence, the system integration including solar cell and controller, the power system design, and the aerodynamic and structural designs of the UAV is very important. The present study have performed the design, manufacture, and flight test of the small solar-powered UAV for the preliminary study of the long-endurance solar-powered UAV. From this study, the system integration technology of the solar-powered UAV design is established, and the possibility and the issue points for the development of the long-endurance solar-powered UAV are discussed.

  • In this study, realize voltage regulation $220Vac{\pm}10%$ or less, frequency fluctuation $60Hz{\pm}1%$ or less over the independent operation and grid-connected operation technologies for power stabilization relates to the ESS designed and manufactured in conjunction with solar installations and solar to compensate the output reduction due to the polarization of the solar module through the polarization prevention technology for preventing the optical module efficiency is lowered, in conjunction with the BMS inverter efficiency was more than 92%, more than 90% of the charging efficiency to the target. This study was designed in conjunction with the ESS solar power plants, grid-connected operation and independent operation, Peak-Cut, it can stabilize the grid via the Peak-Shifting operation

센서 기반 사용자 상태 인식 알고리즘을 이용한 저전력 서비스에 관한 연구 (Study on the Low Power Service with User State Recognition Algorithm Using Sensors)

  • The electric power consumed by the embedded devices has become a critical issue because the reduction of power consumption is an important factor to prolong the battery-operated devices' lifetime. Many researches and techniques to reduce the power consumption have been proposed and developed but any power method cannot guarantee optimal power consumption of an embedded device - it would be faced with numerous situation - in all ways. Specifically, power researches for embedded devices deployed in the industry field have hardly been done. In this paper, low power service is proposed to minimize power reduction with the several usage status of embedded devices in the industry field. The usage status is basically classified according to the distance between the device and the user which is obtained by the ultrasonic and PIR sensor. The performance evaluation shows that the proposed scheme can reduce the power consumption by up to 45.3% compared to the device with no power reduction scheme. It also shows that the power consumption of the proposed scheme is 5.2% ~ 16.8% lower than that of the timeout scheme.

Decentralized Vehicle-to-Grid Design for Frequency Regulation within Price-based Operation

  • The utilization of electric vehicles has been suggested to support the frequency regulation of power system. Assuming that an intermediate aggregator exists, this study suggests a decentralized vehicle-to-grid operation scheme in which each vehicle-to-grid aggregator can behave independently of the power system operator. To implement this type of decentralized operation, this study adopts a price-based operation that has been proposed by many researches as an alternative operation scheme for the power system. In this environment, each vehicle-to-grid aggregator can determine its participation in vehicle-to-grid service in consideration of its residual energy of aggregated system and real-time market price. Consequently, the main purpose of this study is to verify whether or not the vehicle-to-grid power can effectively support the current frequency regulation function within the price-based operation scheme. Specifically, a frequency regulation method is proposed based on the real-time price signal, and a feedback controller for battery management is designed for decentralized vehicle-to-grid operation.

고정오염원에서의 중금속 배출특성 연구 (Characteristics of Heavy Metal Emissions from Stationary Sources)

  • The results of HAPs emission data using TRI (Toxic Release Inventory), SODAM (Source Data Management system) were investigated and the emissions of 7 heavy metals from their sources and emission processes were also analyzed. Questionnaire for source data analysis as well as the stack sampling were carried out for 17 factories among 6 selected industrial types. The annual amount of emissions was estimated based on the measured concentration and flow rates. All sources were operated with high efficiency control devices and the concentration levels of all heavy metals were shown to be below 0.1 to of regulation standard. The highest emission source of heavy metals was steel manufacturing industry with the annual emission of 342.9 kg/yr and followed by hazardous waste incinerator, paint manufacturing, nonferrous metal manufacturing, rolling & press goods manufacturing and storage battery manufacturing. In the case of Hg, the emissions were quite significant from electric acros of steel manufacturing industry, although the concentration level was below the emission standard, showing the necessity of specific care for its management.

  • In industry, A pallet truck is drived mainly by d.c motor, because it use to battery for input power. However, d.c motor has a brush, this is the disadvantage of the d.c motor for a pallet truck. Though a brushless d.c motor has a permanent magnet, it is for low torque. Switched reluctance motors(SRM) have the advantage a high torque/weight ratio, as the large reluctance torque is made by salient poles of both start and rotor, and a high reliability, this paper design the shape of the switched reluctance motor that will replace a d.c motor for A pallet truck. First of all, designed parameter of SRM, outer diameter, diameter of rotor and stock length, from the outputr equation considering electric loading and magnetic loading. Next, design diameter of stator and rotor, depth of slot pole width, air gap as inner size of motor. The design of SRM certify the torque, the efficiency and the output power by a simulation.

  • Recently, electric power reliability of our country has been improved. However, there are still remaining problems which are short-duration variations like instantaneous and momentary interruption and voltage sag by nature calamity ; typhoon, lightning, snow, etc. Besides, power quality ; harmonics, caused by using power electronics equipments, become a hot issue Malfunction of controller and stop machinery, and losing the important data are caused by poor power quality at a couple of second. Due to those, UPS, which is made up battery, has being used, but there are several disadvantages ; long charge and discharge time, environmental problem by acid and heavy metal, and short life time. As generally know, micro-SMES is a method to settle those mentioned. However, there need huge system apparatuses in order to verify the effect of system efficiency and stability considering the size of micro-SMES, the sort of converter type, and various conditions ; inner temperature, magnetic field, quench characteristic of micro-SMES, and etc. In this paper, in order to bring the mentioned above to a settlement, a micro-SMES is modeled with characteristics of micro-SMES is interfaced to EMTOC program using Fortran program interface method. We obtained hopeful answers and made the simulation model of micro SMES.

  • Lithium is a highly attractive material for high-energy-concentration batteries, since it has low weight and high potential. Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), which have the extremely high gravimetric and volumetric energy densities, are currently the most preferable power sources for future electric vehicles and various portable electronic devices. In order to improve the efficiency and lifetime, new electrode compounds for lithium intercalation or insertion have been investigated for rechargeable batteries. Solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is a very useful tool to investigate the structural changes in electrode materials in actual working lithium-ion batteries. To detect the in-situ microstructural changes of electrode and electrolyte materials, $^7Li-^{19}F$ double-resonance solid-state NMR probe with a static solenoidal coil for a 600-MHz narrow-bore magnet was designed, constructed, and tested successfully.

  • Metal sulfide powders such as MnS, $MoS_2$ and FeS are simply used to the machinery processing improvement agent and solid lubricant in powder metallurgy industrial. And then, metal sulfide powders have received relatively little attention from powder metallurgy. Recently, the portable machine is one of the important interfaces between human or human and electronic machine. With the increase of the intelligent activity, the social and industrial demands for information display device and power source are increasing. The transition metal sulfide materials (FeS, ZnS) have received considerable attention due to the large variety of its electric, optical and magnetic properties. Among the metal sulfide, $FeS_2$ is appealing superior material for applications in $Li-2^{nd}$ battery because of high capacity. ZnS is also a famous phosphor material with various luminescence properties, such as photoluminescence (PL) and electroluminescence (EL). So generally used in the fields of display, sensors and laser. Metal sulfide materials, therefore, are provided for most widely application in all industries. In recent years, material researchers have become increasingly interested in studying with synthesis of metal sulfide.

  • Electric scroll-compressor drives are commonly used for e.g. home appliance cooling units. The recent development of hybrid cars with internal combustion engine in combination with electrical propulsion requires new solutions to be able to cool the passenger compartment of cars at stand-still. Both application areas demand efficient motor drives to reach good economy and efficient use of limited battery power as well as competitive volume/weight for a given output. The BLDC motor is a controllable and efficient solution. A major part of the motor is the soft-magnetic core. The powder based $Somaloy^{(R)}$ material shows high resistivity and induction as the result of engineered iron particles with in-organic coating. The unique features of compacted $Somaloy^{(R)}$ components can be utilized to enhance the shape and total volume of the BLDC motor with at least maintained efficiency compared to the use of traditional laminated steel sheet cores. A careful design of the $Somaloy^{(R)}$ components can also simplify assembly and positively influence the coil configuration. This study shows a comparison between a typical laminated BLDC motor and a redesigned, $Somaloy^{(R)}$ based version adapted for a scroll-compressor application.
