Purpose: This study aimed to clarify the needs for hospital-based home care nursing medical services in elder care institutions by analyzing the details and frequency of medical services provided by, and the needs for, hospital based home care nursing in select institutions in Korea. Methods: Seventy-seven staffs at elderly care institutions located throughout the country completed self-report questionnaires between February 1 and May 31, 2009. SPSS ver. 14.0 was used for data analysis regarding frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation. Results: Forty-eight hospital-based home care nursing medical services in eight domains were identified as being needed in elderly care institutions. The most commonly used medical services were providing instruction in oral drug administration, checking drug beneficial/adverse effects, and administering blood glucose test, while the most needed medical services requiring hospital based home care nursing were complex pressure ulcer care, followed by diabetic foot ulcer management and nutrient injection. Conclusion: The present results should provide fundamental data for better healthcare services with hospital based home care nursing at elderly care institutions as part of a 'win-win' strategy through which medical expenses are reduced, insurance costs are kept stable, and safe and high-quality medical services are provided for residents of elder care institutions. Political decisions intended to promote visits by hospital based home care nurses to elder care institutions would be a prudent course.

This study was to find out the demand for the education of elder marital couples to improve their relationship. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Marital satisfaction was affected by four elements such as confidence and affinity, mutual respect, communication, and cohesion. Each element showed significant differences by the socio-demographic variables. Out of these variables, age, academic career, health, occupation, and salary showed significant difference in all 4 elements affecting the marital satisfaction. 2. The couples with shorter marriage period, with religion, and belonging to a nuclear family, and doing social activities were recognized the necessity of education highly. 3. The higher the confidence and affinity, and cohesion between couple, the higher the demand for education program. The lower the score of communication between couple, they participated more often in the educational program. For the improvement of confidence and affinity between couple, the educational program with partners is necessary.

Korean society is experiencing rapid changes which are certain to shape the lives of the older people and their families. So, the purpose of this study was to improve the quality of the elderly welfare service in Korea. Even though the interest about the elderly welfare in Korea is rapidly on the increase, the reality of Korean Society still leaves much to be desired, quantitatively as well as qualitatively. Pay attent to this point, now going to grasp the situation of not the handicapped elder people but the general elder people actual life condition and demand for welfare. So this study focused on the demand of not out-of home service but in-home care service. It was based on the data from by Korea National Statistical Office, having observed 6,139 elderly people. The results were as follows. They hope to get the elderly welfare services about health examination service, nursing survice, supporting service for household. That was, the most of them wanted in-home care service than out-of home care service. To ensure effective care to the elderly, it needed development and settlement of welfare service in face of their daily living. And, even though they recognized that they should cover the elderly life expenses themselves, the rate was hit that indicated their adult children as a parents supporter. This means that we should consider not only to the elder people but also to the family which contained the old people as the elderly welfare service. As a remedy, we can find the cooperation between elder welfare service at the social welfare organization and counsel, education at the family strengthen center. To improve the quality of the elderly welfare service in Korea, the elderly welfare service should focus not only on the physical and spiritual health maintenance but also active understanding living environment and growing ability to arbitrate between individual and living.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the needs of middle and elder generation about serious game for the elderly. The results of this study are; (1) elder generation prefers leisure activities such as mountain climbing, yoga, golf, walking and travel, etc., for health, interest, the development for oneself and relieving stress; (2) they don't prefer game activity for leisure, but prefer to use serious game for health, simulation, medical treatment and sports than middle generation; (3) elder generation has various characteristics and needs so that we should consider their demographical variables when we research and develop serious game contents for the elderly.

The purpose of this study is to suggest planning directions of architectural integrates model by analysing the foreign case of integrated services for the aged and the disabled. For this study, we have researched on three different aspects. Three aspects are the element of barrier-free, architectural planning, information technology and operation. Based on the analysis of overseas examples, the good circumstance for both the disabled and the elder as one of member in the local societies could be defined like the following conditions: that is, (1) IT technology facilitates both barrier-free architecture and life to be easier and safer, and (2) both the disabled and the elder in local societies live together with the non-disabled in the same community. To realize this purpose, for a short-term plan, the system of feedback, examining the results of the research through the examples of housing plan, should be improved. In addition to, the system of public service, such as introducing the institutes for social educations, should be developed to result in the change of social insight. For a long-term plan, the whole society should have the research and plan of the unified model in a dimension of cities, where the network of public welfare is deeply associated with the system of the architecture, traffic, streets, and living-supporting information.

Elder-berries are economical plants and grown commercially in the United States. Most of the crop is sold to processors and made into natural colour, jellies, jam, port wine or elder berry wine, elder berry juice or used to manufacture of pie mixes. Processors are showing increasing interest in cultivation elder berries. In the present study was wish to find the effect of various factors and practical methods on the processing for the true fruit colour made from fresh elder berries juice as the clearing by the treated pectinase, added sugar, vaccum concentration, extraction of anthocyanosid powder and its property with used prospects. In this study obtained results can be summarized as follows. 1. Pectinase is useful and effected to make clear juice from fresh elder berry juice treated on the $34{\sim}45^{\circ}C$. 2. P.V.C. drum is most useful stored without unfading for clearing elderberry juice and its exposed redish dark purple colour. 3. Clearing elderberry juice stored in the stainless steel drum, changed colour from redish dark purple to dark violets during the stored at the room temperature. 4. Added sugar (Brix $48{\sim}53^{\circ}C$) to the fresh elderberry juice is useful and suitable prospects for to make home juice and wine. 5. The elderberry juice of vaccum concentration is change colour from dark purple to black brown colour during the stored at the room temperature. 6. Its possible to make anthocyanosid powder extracted made from fresh elderberry juice 7. Property of anthocyanosid is an follows. 1) The spectrum of elderberries juice is $523{\sim}530m{\mu}$ 2) The colouring stability is less than $pH_4$ 3) The colouring stability by the heating is less than $pH_4$, and then the more than $pH_4$ is changed colour from redish dark purple to dark brown. 4) By the light colouring stability is less than $pH_4$ 5) The colouring most stability in the pH is $pH_3$ 8. In the future, natural colour made from elderberry juice on the useful prospects is suitable used to make natural fruit juice, ice cream, candy, commercial and home wine, gum, and manufacture of jelly jam, pie maxes, ect.

This study was conducted in order to empirically analyze factors affecting the quality of life in the elder resulting from the use of elderly leisure facilities in the community. For this purpose, we surveyed the elder using the senior health town of Gwang-ju Metropolitan City to see whether the quality of life in the elder is influenced by factors such as facilities' environment within the health town, the capacity for the staff and instructors, and the elders' satisfaction with programs. The results of this study are expected to provide practical solutions for enhancing the quality of life in senior users. The survey was performed with 1,038 elders aged over 60 who were using the senior health town of Gwang-ju Metropolitan City by using a self-administered questionnaire and being interviewed with surveyors. The period of the survey was from the 10th to 15th of December, 2010. According to the results of this study, variables affecting the elders' quality of life were academic qualification (B= .074, p<0.05), instructors satisfaction (B=.172, p<0.001), staff satisfaction (B=.104, p<0.01), and facilities and environment satisfaction (B=.217, p<0.001). That is, the lower academic background they have, the higher instructors', staff's, facilities and environment's satisfaction are, the quality of life in the elder was positively affected. In particular, facilities and environment's satisfaction show a relatively high effect and this suggests the necessity to modernize cultural and leisurely facilities in community for senior citizens and create pleasant environment in order to improve the quality of life in the elder.

Two brothers aged 15 1/6 and 12 2/3 years were diagnosed as Class I malocclusion with ectopic eruption of the upper left central incisor in the elder brother and etopic eruption in the upper right second premolar in the younger. All 4 second molars were extracted at the same time in both brothers. The treatment results were as follows. 1. In the elder brother, the third molars were fully erupted and their angulations were excellent at 3 years post-treatment. 2. In the younger brother, the lower right third molar was mesially erupted and upper third molars were still undergoing eruption at 3 years post-treatment. 3. Assessment of panex films of both brothers at aged 15 showed an earlier eruption of the third molars in the younger brother. 4. A longer post-treatment supervision of the third molars was required in the younger brother. 5. The facial probiles were enhanced and the ectopic eruptions were corrected in both brothers.

The fundamental goal of dental treatment is rehabilitation of oral health thus various dental treatment are done. Most of the dental procedures are not life threatening but patients who are medically compromised are exceptional. Fortunately systemic disease can be easily diagnosed by medical insurance(medicare) or annual medical check examination in Korea. Diseases which were fatal at the past are successfully treated nowadays and consequently the population of the elder increases. As the population of elder increases, patients who need medical care as well as dental patient with compromised medical condition increases. It is essential to find out if the patient has any systemic disease. Consultant to the appropriated physician of medically compromised patients? is demanded and also for a successful dental treatment, deep knowledge of the systemic disease is necessary.

This study focuses on the type of elder care arrangements and its consequences for mental health among physically frail elderly. Based on data from 410 frail older people, this study reveals the following results: (1) Frail elderly in family caregiving situation shows better mental health in terms of depression and psychological well-being than those in self-care or public institutional situation, (2) but this positive effect of family caregiving on mental health, especially depression, among older people is partly explained by the differences in income and marital status among older people in different caregiving situations, (3) the factors which are significantly related to mental health of older people are income in family caregiving situation, and education in both self-care situation and institutional situation. The results of the study emphasize the importance of family resources in family caregiving situation and of personal resources in self7are or institutional situation.
