This research developed a smart girdle for adult women in their 20's that has an inserted carbon weaving heater to help with relief from coldness and abdominal disease through the thermal insulation effect. A pocket of powernet fabric was attached to the inside of the girdle for the easy insertion and separation of the heating device, while the heating device was fixed to a mesh material by cotton yarn and was wrapped with elastic lining material to prevent the mechanical devices from being exposed. A set of 3 hooks was attached to the center of the back of the heating device in consideration of convenience and mobility. Whereas the switch was inserted into around the right waistband, and the battery into the inner pocket around the waist, to integrate the heating device with the girdle. The satisfaction and usability of the fabricated smart girdle was verified by having research participants wear it to evaluate the appearance change caused by the device, the inconvenience of wearing/unwearing, mobility, and the satisfactory functionality of the device. As a result, the grand mean was evaluated to be high, with appearance (4.19), mobility (4.17), and functionality (4.51) being higher than 4.00; which indicates that the heat generation function of the smart girdle is effective. It may be said that such collection and analysis of data that reflect users' opinions have value and significance in that they can be grafted onto future research on new technology as well as they contribute to taking a step forward in the rapidly increasing research of smart clothing, with the new-type clothing equipped with new function.
This work reports results of our study on the dynamic response of buried pipelines depending on their boundary conditions. We have studied behavior of the buried pipelines both along the axial and the transverse direction with a boundary condition of free ends. The buried pipelines are modeled as beams on elastic foundation while the seismic wave as a ground displacement in the form of a sinusoidal wave. The natural frequency, its mode, and the effect of parameters have been interpreted in terms of the free vibration. In order to investigate the response on the earthquake, the resulting frequency and the mode shape obtained from the free vibration have been utilized to derive the mathematical formula for the farced vibration. We have also completed the computer program to simulate the time-displacement graphs of the pipe lines with free ends for both cases of vibrations.

In all inelastic deformations time rate effects are always present to some degree. Whether or not their exclusion has a significant influence on the prediction of the material behaviour depends upon several factors. In the study of structural components under static loading conditions at normal temperature it is accepted that time rate effects are generally not important. However metals, especially under high temperatures, exhibit simultaneously the phenomena of creep and viscoplasticity. In this study, elastoplastic and elasto-viscoplastic models include nonlinear geometrical effects were developed and several numerical examples are also included to verify the computer programming work developed here in this work. Comparisons of the calculated results, for the elasto-viscoplastic analysis of an internally pressurised thick cylinder under plane strain condition, have shown that the model yields excellent results. The results obtained from the numerical examples for an elasto-viscoplastic analysis of the Nuclear Reinforced Concrete Containment Structure(NRCCS) subjected to an incrementally applied internal pressure were summarized as follows : 1. The steady state hoop stress distribution along the shell layer of dome and dome wall junction part of NRCCS were linearly behave and the stress in interior surfaces was larger than that in exterior. 2.However in the upper part of the wall of NRCCS the steady state hoop stress in creased linearly from its inner to outer surfaces, being the exact reverse to the previous case of dome/dome-wall junction part. 3.At the lower part of wall of NRCCS, the linear change of steady state hoop stress along its wall layer began to disturb above a certain level of load increase.
The shape of floating superstructure is the same as other buildings, but the foundation is based not on land but on a floating body. Unlike inland structures, they are largely influenced by the wave load. Deformation of the floating pontoon due to the wave loads affects the connection, which in turn causes problems related to the habitability and safety to the superstructure users. Accordingly, this study conducted elastic analysis regarding rigid connection and semi-rigid connection by the integration analysis that combined together the superstructure and pontoon of the 3-D floating structure. Moreover, this study investigated the results of the separation analysis excluding pontoon and the integration analysis. In addition, elasticity analysis was used to divide up the wave loads cases, and to classify the moment and displacement of the structure depending on connection following the changes in the wave loads.
Performance assessment of pavements proves useful, in terms of handling the ride quality, controlling the travel time of vehicles and adequate maintenance of pavements. Roughness profiles provide a good measure of the deteriorating condition of the pavement. For the accurate estimates of pavement roughness from dynamic vehicle responses, vehicle parameters should be known accurately. Information on vehicle parameters is uncertain, due to the wear and tear over time. Hence, condition monitoring of pavement requires the identification of pavement roughness along with vehicle parameters. The present study proposes a scheme which estimates the roughness profile of the pavement with the use of accurate estimates of vehicle parameters computed in parallel. Pavement model used in this study is a two-layer Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a nonlinear Pasternak foundation. The asphalt topping of the pavement in the top layer is modeled as viscoelastic, and the base course bottom layer is modeled as elastic. The viscoelastic response of the top layer is modeled with the help of the Burgers model. The vehicle model considered in this study is a half car model, fitted with accelerometers at specified points. The identification of the coupled system of vehicle-pavement interaction employs a coupled scheme of an unbiased minimum variance estimator and an optimization scheme. The partitioning of observed noisy quantities to be used in the two schemes is investigated in detail before the analysis. The unbiased minimum variance estimator (MVE) make use of a linear state-space formulation including roughness, to overcome the linearization difficulties as in conventional nonlinear filters. MVE gives estimates for the unknown input and fed into the optimization scheme to yield estimates of vehicle parameters. The issue of ill-posedness of the problem is dealt with by introducing a regularization equivalent term in the objective function, specifically where a large number of parameters are to be estimated. Effect of different objective functions is also studied. The outcome of this research is an overall measure of pavement condition.

In this paper, based on the CPT, motion equations for a sandwich plate containing a core and two integrated face-sheets have derived. The structure rests on the Visco-Pasternak foundation, which includes normal and shear modules. The piezo-magnetic core is made of CoFe2O4 and also is subjected to 3D magnetic potential. Two face sheets at top and bottom of the core are under electrical fields. Also, in order to obtain more accuracy, the effect of flexoelectricity has took into account at face sheets' relations in this work. Flexoelectricity is a property of all insulators whereby they polarize when subject to an inhomogeneous deformation. This property plays a crucial role in small-scale rather than macro scale. Employing CPT, Hamilton's principle, flexoelectricity considerations, the governing equations are derived and then solved analytically. By present work a detailed numerical study is obtained based on Piezoelectricity, Flexoelectricity and modified couple stress theories to indicate the significant effect of length scale parameter, shear correction factor, aspect and thickness ratios and boundary conditions on natural frequency of sandwich plates. Also, the figures show that there is an excellent agreement between present study and previous researches. These finding can be used for automotive industries, aircrafts, marine vessels and building industries.

This paper presents a detailed procedure for a nonlinear soil-structure interaction of a seismically isolated NPP(Nuclear Power Plant) structure using the boundary reaction method (BRM). The BRM offers a two-step method as follows: (1) the calculation of boundary reaction forces in the frequency domain on an interface of linear and nonlinear regions, (2) solving the wave radiation problem subjected to the boundary reaction forces in the time domain. For the purpose of calculating the boundary reaction forces at the base of the isolator, the KIESSI-3D program is employed in this study to solve soil-foundation interaction problem subjected to vertically incident seismic waves. Wave radiation analysis is also employed, in which the nonlinear structure and the linear soil region are modeled by finite elements and energy absorbing elements on the outer model boundary using a general purpose nonlinear FE program. In this study, the MIDAS/Civil program is employed for modeling the wave radiation problem. In order to absorb the outgoing elastic waves to the unbounded soil region, spring and viscous-damper elements are used at the outer FE boundary. The BRM technique utilizing KIESSI-3D and MIDAS/Civil programs is verified using a linear soil-structure analysis problem. Finally the method is applied to nonlinear seismic analysis of a base-isolated NPP structure. The results show that BRM can effectively be applied to nonlinear soil-structure interaction problems.
In the present study, buckling analysis of sandwich composite (carbon nanotube reinforced composite and fiber reinforced composite) Euler-Bernoulli beam in two configurations (core and layers material), three laminates (combination of different angles) and two models (relative thickness of core according to peripheral layers) using differential quadrature method (DQM) is studied. Also, the effects of porosity coefficient and different types of porosity distribution on critical buckling load are discussed. Using sandwich beam, it shows a considerable enhancement in the critical buckling load when compared to ordinary composite. Actually, resistance against buckling in sandwich beam is between two to four times more. It is also showed the critical buckling loads of laminate 1 and 3 are significantly larger than the results of laminate 2. When Configuration 2 is used, the critical buckling load rises about 3 percent in laminate 1 and 3 compared to the results of configuration 1. The amount of enhancement for laminate 3 is about 17 percent. It is also demonstrated that the influence of the core height (thickness) in the case of lower carbon volume fractions is ignorable. Even though, when volume fraction of fiber increases, differences grow smoothly. It should be noticed the amount of decline has inverse relationship with the beam aspect ratio. Among three porosity patterns investigated, beam with the distribution of porosity Type 2 (downward parabolic) has the maximum critical buckling load. At the end, the first three modes of buckling will be demonstrated to investigate the effect of spring constants.
In the present work the dynamic analysis of the functionally graded rectangular nanoplates is studied. The theory of nonlocal elasticity based on the quasi 3D high shear deformation theory (quasi 3D HSDT) has been employed to determine the natural frequencies of the nanosize FG plate. In HSDT a cubic function is employed in terms of thickness coordinate to introduce the influence of transverse shear deformation and stretching thickness. The theory of nonlocal elasticity is utilized to examine the impact of the small scale on the natural frequency of the FG rectangular nanoplate. The equations of motion are deduced by implementing Hamilton's principle. To demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed method, the calculated results in specific cases are compared and examined with available results in the literature and a good agreement is observed. Finally, the influence of the various parameters such as the nonlocal coefficient, the material indexes, the aspect ratio, and the thickness to length ratio on the dynamic properties of the FG nanoplates is illustrated and discussed in detail.
This study presents the application of the numerical and analytical technique to simulate the Load Distribution Ratio (LDR) and to define axial stiffness on reinforcing pile foundation ($K_{vr}$) in vertical extension remodeling structure. The main objective of this study was to investigate the LDR between existing piles and reinforcing piles. Therefore, to analyze the LDR, 3D FEM analysis was performed as variable for elastic modulus, pile end-bearing condition, raft contacts, and relative position of reinforcing pile in a group. Also, using the axial stiffness ($K_{ve}$) of existing piles, the axial stiffness of reinforcing pile was defined by 3D approximate computer-based method, YSPR (Yonsei Piled Raft). In addition $K_{vr}$ was defined by reducing the $K_{ve}$considering the degradation of the existing piles.
