A study on Blood pigments removal of butchery wastewater by heat processed Eggshell (Heat processed Eggshell에 의한 도축폐수의 혈색소 제거에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this experimental study examine characteristics of blood pigments removal of butchery wastewater by heat processed eggshell, compare activated carbon with its efficiency. Calcined eggshell were classified into four kinds of mesh as HPES-32(Heat Processed Eggshell 32 $mesh=500{\mu}m$), HPES-48($300{\mu}m$), HPES-150($180{\mu}m$) and HPES-150($106{\mu}m$). And two contacting process of CMFA(Complete Mixing Float Adsorption) and FLFA(Fixing layer Flow Adsorption) Were used for getting removal efficiency of blood pigments. In case of using CMFA process, the removal efficiency of blood pigments was occurred as HPES-80>HPES-150>HPES-32, but in case of using FLFA process was occurred as HPES-150>HPES-80>HPES-48>HPES-32. The two results between CMFA and FLFA were differ in strength of removal efficiency of blood pigments.

  • Eggshell strength and eggshell pigmentation are described in this paper since these are needed for quality egg production. A strong eggshell is determined by the components of the shell (cuticle, true shell and membranes) as well as the proper function of the gastrointestinal tract, the shell gland, the Kidneys and the endocrine system. When the puller reaches sexual maturity, the medullary bone must be ready for the laying hen at the peak egg shell formation. The amount of calcium in the layer diet, sources of calcium feed, the ratio of calcium and phosphorus in the layer diet, adequate levels of vitamin D and the dietary mineral (electrolyte) balance in the body fluid are important factors along with the levels of other nutrients. Biological, environmental and managerial factors such as the age of laying flock, temperature and humidity of the hen house, bird strain, disease, egg collection through transportation and others and influence the shell breakage at various stages of movement of the eggs from the producer to the consumer. The pigments present in eggshells are protoporphyrin-Ⅸ, biliverdin-Ⅸ and its zinc chelate and occasional traces of coproporphyrin-Ⅲ. However, there are several causes of changes in eggshell pigmentation such as the age of hen, disease, drugs and surface defects due to abnormal post-cuticular deposits.

Influence of Feeding Flammuling veluipes Media on Productivity and Egg Quality in Laying Hens (팽이버섯 배지 부산물의 급여가 산란계의 생산성 및 난질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the feeding value of the Flammulina veluipes media by-product(FMB) in laying hens(Hy-Line Brown). A total of three hundreds sixty were fed corn-soy based experimental diets containing 0(control), 5.0(T1), and $10\%(T2)$ FMB for 12 weeks. There were no significant differences among the treatments in egg production, egg weight, egg mass, feed conversion and viability during the experimental period. Feed intake was significantly(P<0.05) lowered in control(120.5g) than 72(123.9g). There were no significant differences among the treatments eggshell breaking strength, thickness and haugh unit, whereas the yolk color of T1 and T2 were significantly love. than control(p<0.05). In conclusion, the FMB can be used as resource of feed in laying hen feed at $5.0\%$ level without effect on performance and egg qualify. However, dietary pigments must be added when the FMB was used as a feed ingredients more than $10\%$ in diets.
