The purpose of this study was to identify how characteristics of children, parents, family, and the extra context relate to disciplinary practices and to examine the cumulative effects of positive variables on effective disciplinary practices of employed and unemployed mothers. Disciplinary practices of both employed and unemployed mothers were correlated with number of child, husband support, parenting stress, social support, quality of life, and satisfaction of early childhood program. Parenting stress was the strongest predictor of disciplinary practices for both employed and unemployed mothers. Both employed and unemployed mothers exposed to several positive variables were more likely to exhibit effective disciplinary practices than mothers who were not.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the different preferences between herbal medicine and health functional food, and analyze the reasons for the preferences to figure out the better way of promoting herbal medicine. Methods: 500 questionnaires has been handed out to the parents having elementary school students in Gyeonggi-do province, and 331 questionnaires has been collected and evaluated for this study. Results: Among the 331 responses, 58.4% were female, and 41.6% were male. The percentages of the subjects who consume health supplements and that of herbal medicines were 67.4% and 59.2% respectively. The preference rate for the health supplements was 57.6%, and for herbal medicines was 42.4%. The major reason of taking the health supplements was that they were convenient to consume(54%). The major reason for choosing herbal medicines was that people 'expect them to be more effective'(72.7%). However, the problem with Herbal medicine was their consumptions were inconvenient (39.8%), and their tastes was unfavorable. The most preferable form of herbal medication was pills(50.6%), followed by syrup(22.9%). Pertinent price for herbal medication, the participants were favorable to pay 30,000 within a week. For the question on when to start taking the herbal medication, 18 months after was the popular answers from the participants. Conclusions: Among the 331 subjects, the percentage of consuming the health supplements (67.4%) was higher than that of consuming the Herbal Medicine (59.2%). Also the preference was higher than the Herbal Medicine. The reason why the participant preferred health supplements was that they were 'easy to take', The reason for subjects' great preference in herbal medicine was based on their conception that herbal medicines were highly effective. When taking herbal medicine, participants addressed inconvenience in consuming, and unfavorable taste as the biggest problems. Also they thought that pills would be most convenient form of herbal medicine to consume. For the proper price, they were willing to pay less than 30000won, lower than a market price, per a week for the herbal medicine. Most parents thought that proper age of taking herbal medicine is ' 18 month after the birth'. Taking these into account, different perspectives on herbal medicine is necessary at the very moment.
This study was carried out to calculate the genic values of days for flowering in commercial breeding lines of Korean hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). Two breeding lines of pepper '#2132' ($P_1$) early-flowering, and '#1308' ($P_2$) medium-late flowering, and their $F_1$ and $F_2$ generations were used in this study. By using partitioning method (Thseng and Hosokawa, 1971, 1972), it was possible to estimate, from the $F_2$ generations, the number of effective factor pairs differentiating the two parents. It was found out that the two parents were differentiated by two effective factor pairs, A:a and B:b. In the breeding lines used, the inheritance of days to flowering showed that the $F_1$ flowered a little earlier than the earlier flowering parent through the effect of over-dominance. However, $F_2$ flowered earlier or later than both parents through transgressive segregation. Conclusively, the magnitude of genic effects of A-a gene in flowering days was -13.81 days, and B-b gene was -6.73 days. The interaction between the two non-allelic factors using partitioning method was -5.26 days.
The study was done to better understand problem behavior in high school students as described in family system theory, which explains the individual’s problem within the family interactions. The purpose of the study 1. To analyze the difference in the parents’ relationship as a couple between the two groups. 2. To analyze the difference in the parent-adolecent relationship between the two groups. 3. To analyze the difference in the family function (cohesion adaptability) between the two groups. The method of the study The staudy subjects consisted of a total of 176 families (528 persons), 109 high school students (End grade) with problem behavior and their parents (problem family group) ,and 69 high school students (same grade) with normal behavior and their parents (normal family group) residing in the Seoul area. Data were gathered from structured, self-reporting qestionaires which included a Couple Relation measurement (95 items) , Parent-Adolescent communication measurement (20 items), Family Cohesion Adaptability Scale (20 items) by DavidH. Olson et al., and a behavior evaluation tool. The results of the study 1. The results as related to the hypothesis were as follows. Hypothesis 1 : “satisfaction within The couple's relationship of the parents of problem family group will be lower than the normal family group was supported significantly(t=3.07, p=.005). Hypothesis 2: “The parent-adolescent relationship of the problem family group will be more negative and problematic than the normal family group” was supported significantly(t=4.06, p=.000). Hypothesis 3: “The family function (cohesion adaptability) of the problem family group will be lower than the normal family group" was supported significantly(t=2.20, p=.022) 2. The results of related analysis were as follows 1) Analysis of a causal relation between the couple’s relationship, the parent-adolescent relationship, family function and adolescent behavior showed that the Above 3 variables influenced adolescent behavior.. In cases where couple’s relation-ship, the parent-adolescent’s relationship, the family function are the better, their adolescent’s behavior is better. 2) Discriminant analysis of the research tool showed The discriminant ability of couple’s relationship tool was 75.57%, the Parent-Adolescent communication tool, 67.05, the family adaptability cohesion tool.67. 61%. In summary, interpersonal relationships in the family subsystems are interactive and their relation influences the behaviors. of adolescents in the family. Therefore, family therapy would be a more effective method than individual therapy, to resolve negative problem for adolscents, and the research tool used in this study are very useful for family system diagnosis and nursing intervention.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of parent education program with sensory integration approach on the parent's understanding of sensory processing ability of their own children with developmental delays. Methods : The period of this study is from March 15, 2015 to May 10, 2015. The participants of this study were thirty of parents who have children with developmental delays. The participants were randomly divided as experimental group (15 parents) and control group (15 parents) and an educational program was provided to those parents in the experimental group. The education program was developed based on sensory integration approach and 1:1 intensive individual counseling education. Short Sensory Profile (SSP) & a specially designed questionnaire were used to evaluate the parent's understanding of sensory processing ability of their children with developmental delays. The effect of between the groups was analyzed using an independent two samples t-test, and the effect of the intervention within a group was measured using the paired t-test. Results : After the intervention of parent education program, the total score of SSP was significantly decreased and the score of the parent questionnaire was significantly increased (p<.05). Conclusion : The results of this study show that parent education program with sensory integration approach is effective to improve the parent's understanding of sensory processing ability of their children with developmental delays. This study can be used as a good resource for therapists who is planning to provide sensory integration treatment for children with disabilities.
The study is designed to compare differences between male and female Internet users in present Internet use conditions, Internet addition, self-respect, and deviation from a health life and analyze and understand factors causing compulsive Internet use. The research is aimed at suggesting basic information to guide a desirable direction for healthy and effective Internet use. The survey of 456 students majoring in public health at some universities in the Pusan-Kyungnam areas was made in November, 2006. The results are as follows: As for general information on those surveyed the number of the males was 50(11.0%) and that of the females was 406(89.0%), which shows an absolute higher ratio of the female respondents. On a question of Internet use frequency 62% of the male students and 44.6% of the female students answered they use the Internet everyday. Also the male respondents' Internet use time was longer. 64.0% of the male students use the Internet for games and entertainment, which were the highest ranked reason. 64.4% of the female students said they use the Internet to check e-mails. To all the questions assessing Internet addiction, the male users' answers implied higher addiction levels, but there wasn't statistically significant difference. However, the statistically outstanding distinction between the two sexes on deviation from a health life is shown in smoking, cheating in a test, obscene video/books, and conflicts with parents. The most answered deviations among the male respondents are smoking, cheating in a test, and obscene video/books, while conflicting with parents is for the female students. On self-respect the survey has found statistical differences in five questionnaire items and the female showed higher levels in all those questions. The male students answered cheating in a test(0.399), conflicts with parents(0.391), and Internet use time(0.242) have significant plus(+) influences on their compulsive internet use, while alcohol(-0.308) has a minus(-) influence. The female students answered self-respect(0.114), alcohol(0.097), obscene video/book (0.218), conflicts with parents (0.243), and Internet use time (0.284) factors have plus(+) effects.

This study analyzed the images of father and mother featured in the illustrations of the middle and high school textbooks, paying attention to the roles of the school education for the effective gender equality. The purpose of this study was to examine whether the middle and high school textbooks would serve for a balanced gender role through their illustrations. To this end, this study sampled a total of 36 middle and high school textbooks: for the middle schoolers, and for high schoolers, and thereby, selected their illustrations of parents, and then, analyzed them in terms of their external aspects and contents. Summing up, it could be confirmed through the middle and high school textbooks that most of their illustrations show gender-equal roles, while some of them reflect a fixed conception of the gender roles. Since the homes are the bases for socialization of the children about the gender roles, it is required of our middle and high schools to implement a gender-equal education. As seen in the results of this study, some illustrations of our middle and high school 'technology and home Education' textbooks feature the mothers as housekeeper and the fathers as family heads creating the goods and services. Hence, it is urgent to correct such conception of the patriarchal gender roles.
To date, the study of students with multicultural disabilities has been limited to language problems. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of communication between parents and professionals on the IEP and teaching strategies of students in multicultural special education in the United States. From 2015 to 2016, structural equation modeling was conducted using AMOS 21 based on data from 406 elementary, middle, and high school teachers who has experiencing of multicultural disabilities. The correlation coefficients between IEP and the variables affecting instructional strategies were significantly high between -044 and .489 as a whole. Especially, teaching strategy and communication with parents were relatively more effective than professional communication high correlation. In addition, with regard to the impact on IEP and teaching strategies, parental communication has been found to be closely related to IEP and teaching strategies. However, communication with professionals has a direct effect on teaching strategies. There was no significant correlation between parent and professional communication. The purpose of this study is to understand the importance of communication with parents of multicultural disabled students and their interest and opinions on children positively to IEP and teaching strategies so that teachers can communicate continuously.
This study investigates time allocation among paid work, child care and leisure of dual earner parents of pre-school child. The focuses of this study are time allocation of full-time dual earner parents which can be affected by traditional gender role ideology, and if the gender effects can be diminished or not. So the analysis were about gender effects in the time allocation and the moderating effects of education on gender effects. According to the analysis, the hypothesis are partly corroborated. Even though gender is not effective on paid working time(production time), it affects the time allocation for child care and leisure. There are significant gender gaps in time share for child care(family time) and time share for leisure(private time). The education has moderating effects on gender effects. When education years getting longer, gender gap in child care time becomes narrow, however gender gap in leisure time becomes wide. Because the education is expected to cultivate the sense of value of child care, it can bring decrease of gender gap in care time. According to the result on leisure time share, the education is not expected to make changes in patriarchical gender role in terms of leisure and it doesn't contribute work and life balance.
