Recently, transfer learning techniques with a base convolutional neural network (CNN) model have widely gained acceptance in early detection and classification of crop diseases to increase agricultural productivity with reducing disease spread. The transfer learning techniques based classifiers generally achieve over 90% of classification accuracy for crop diseases using dataset of crop leaf images (e.g., PlantVillage dataset), but they have ability to classify only the pre-trained diseases. This paper provides with an evaluation scheme on selecting an effective base CNN model for crop disease transfer learning with regard to the accuracy of trained target crops as well as of untrained target crops. First, we present transfer learning models called CDC (crop disease classification) architecture including widely used base (pre-trained) CNN models. We evaluate each performance of seven base CNN models for four untrained crops. The results of performance evaluation show that the DenseNet201 is one of the best base CNN models.
The cracking at the transverse diaphragm cutout is one of the most severe fatigue failures threatening orthotropic steel decks (OSDs), whose mechanisms and crack treatment techniques have not been fully studied. In this paper, full-scale experiments were first performed to investigate the fatigue performance of polished cutouts involving the effect of an artificial geometrical defect. Following this, comparative experimental testing for defective cutouts strengthened with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) was carried out. Numerical finite element analysis was also performed to verify and explain the experimental observations. Results show that the combinative effect of the wheel load and thermal residual stress constitutes the external driving force for the fatigue cracking of the cutout. Initial geometrical defects are confirmed as a critical factor affecting the fatigue cracking. The principal stress 6 mm away from the free edge of the cutout can be adopted as the nominal stress of the cutout during fatigue evaluation, and the fatigue resistance of polished cutouts is higher than Grade A in AASHTO specification. The bonded CFRP system is highly effective in extending the fatigue life of the defective cutouts. The present study provides some new insights into the fatigue evaluation and repair of OSDs.
Cases and studies on the selection method of CTQ are relatively active, but there are few cases or studies on the selection method of CTP which is important in the device industry. In fact, many companies simply select and manage CTP from the point of contact based on their experience and intuition. The purpose of this study is to present an evaluation model and a mathematical decision model for rational and systematic CTP selection to improve the process quality of semiconductor equipment lines. In the evaluation model, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis technique was applied to show objective and quantitative figures, and Fuzzy decision-making model was used to solve the ambiguity and uncertainty in the decision-making process. Decision Value (DV) was presented. The subjects were 22 process factors managed in the Plating Process that the representative equipment line can do. As a result, the evaluation model proposed in this study can support more efficient and effective decision-making for process quality improvement by more objectively measuring the problem of subjective CTP selection in manufacturing sites.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is effective for people with an addiction tendency. This study aims to implement a CBT program for college students at high risk of smartphone addiction and investigate the impact of the program on their desire to use a smartphone, depression, impulsivity, and anxiety. Baseline/post-intervention evaluation and the ABA' single-case experimental design were used. The study consisted of the baseline phase (A), pre-evaluation, intervention phase (B), post-evaluation, and baseline phase (A'). Six participants were enrolled, and the main outcome variables were daily changes in the desire to use a smartphone and changes in depression, impulsivity, and anxiety after the program. Prior to the intervention, all six participants had mild to moderate depression, but after the intervention, three were normal, two had mild depression, and only one had moderate depression. Impulsivity and anxiety scores decreased after the intervention, with anxiety scores showing the most dramatic change. The percentage of non-overlapping data for the baseline phase (A)-intervention phase (B) was more than 75% and that for baseline phase (A)-baseline phase (A') was 100% for all 6 participants. This study presented a good protocol for people with low access to psychological therapy. We expect the findings will be highly useful for people suffering from psychological difficulties due to smartphone addiction.
This paper presents the re-evaluation of existing piezocone penetration test (CPTu)-based shear wave velocity (Vs) equations through their application into well-documented data obtained at nine sites in six countries. The re-evaluation indicates that the existing equations are appropriate to use for any specific soil, but not for various types of clays. Existing equations were adjusted to suit all nine clays and show that the correlations between the measured and predicted Vs values tend to improve with an increasing number of parameters in the equations. An adjusted equation, which comprises a CPTu parameter and two soil properties (i.e., effective overburden stress and void ratio) with the best correlation, can be converted into a CPTu-based equation that has two CPTu parameters and depth by considering the effect of soil cementation. Then, the developed equation was verified by application to each of the nine soils and nine other worldwide clays, in which the predicted Vs values are comparable with the measured and the stochastically simulated values. Accordingly, the newly developed CPTu-based equation, which is a time-saving and economical method and can estimate Vs indirectly for any type of naturally deposited clay, is recommended for practical applications.
Objectives The aim of this study is to find the future perspective through analyzing the trends of acupuncture treatment for gouty arthritis (GA) by searching the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and PubMed. Methods We searched clinical studies about acupuncture treatment for GA through the searching the electronic database of CNKI and PubMed. We analyzed the characteristics of selected studies according to research design, sample size, publication year, treatment methods, evaluation criteria and adverse events. Results Twenty-nine studies published from January 1, 2015 to July 1, 2022 were selected. They consisted of 25 randomized controlled trials, 3 non-randomized controlled trials, and 1 case reports. In these studies, several types of acupuncture treatments were performed and the most treatment was conventional acupuncture treatment with fine needles. The most commonly used evaluation outcome was effective rate. Conclusions Through this result, the Chinese literature positively reported the effect of acupuncture on GA. However, high-quality evaluation by rigorous research using well-designed and more objective outcomes is required.

To enable the government and local authorities to anticipate the public's response to emergency measures, it is crucial to formulate theories on residents' behavioral reactions and establish appropriate evaluation models that cater to local conditions. However, prior research has primarily relied on simple surveys to assess individual disaster preparedness progress, while in the United States, the National Household Survey explores the behavior, attitudes, and motivations of citizens. Nonetheless, relying on simple survey analyses presents limitations. Therefore, our study aims to develop a social science behavioral analysis model that includes risk perception and emergency preparedness evaluation items for drought. We will achieve this by examining both domestic and foreign behavioral models. The ultimate goal is to present an effective response strategy for managing drought risk that incorporates the developed model. The drought risk perception and behavioral model employed in this study involves evaluating individual risk perception of drought disasters, individual effectiveness, and motivation analysis for drought disasters, government satisfaction with drought disaster management, and individual acceptance of drought prevention policies.
Stable and effective constraint enforcement system is one of the crucial components for physically-based dynamic simulations. This paper presents analysis and evaluation for traditional constraint enforcement systems(Lagrange Multiplier method, Baumgarte stabilization method, Post-stabilization method, Implicit constraint enforcement method, Fast projection method) to provide a guideline to users who need to integrate a suitable constraint enforcement system into their dynamic simulations. The mathematical formulations for traditional constraint enforcement systems are presented in this paper. This paper describes a summary of evaluation which consists of constraint error comparison, computational cost, and dynamic behavior analysis to verify the efficiency of each traditional constraint enforcement system.
Do corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives lead to positive outcomes for companies? Although it is commonly accepted that CSR is a necessary component of modern marketing communication, the empirical evidence shows that that is not always the case. If CSR is sometimes not conducive to better marketing, it behooves firms to determine the right conditions that foster more effective CSR. It is in that vein that this study aims to add to the growing body of marketing and CSR literature through a series of experiments that examines the dynamics between prior attitude toward the company, the fit between the company and the CSR cause, and consumers' accessible thoughts. This study finds that the prior corporate reputation has an impact on how consumers evaluate the CSR activities of companies. Moreover, we show that the degree of accessible thoughts and their valence can change the moderating effect of the fit between the company and the CSR cause. This is because negative information is perceived as being more diagnostic than positive information in an evaluation situation. We demonstrate that companies that have lower prior public reputations can improve the evaluation of their CSR activities in two major ways: (1) by finding CSR causes that have a lower fit with their business, or (2) by providing information that allow consumers to access more positive thoughts about the CSR activity.
This study, which took place in an Italian restaurant in Seoul, investigated the impact of meal duration on the evaluation of satisfaction and service quality, according to the service stages (order, cook, check) of a restaurant. Research procedures included two phases: during the first phase, data on expected-perceived meal duration, and service quality and satisfaction were collected by surveys, which were distributed at the restaurant. The second phase investigated the relationships among meal duration, customers' satisfaction, and service quality. T-tests and regression analyses were used to examine relationships between these variables. Results indicate that both failing to meet customers' expected meal duration, as well as the perceived meal duration could negatively impact the satisfaction and evaluation of service quality. The study confirmed that meal duration is indeed related to the responsiveness aspect of service quality. The important aspect of meal duration management is to improve service quality and satisfaction, which can lead to a restaurant's success. Therefore, understanding the relationships among meal duration, satisfaction, and service quality is a part of a good foundation for effective meal duration management.
