This paper proposes a new effective installed reserve rate in order to evaluate reliability of power system considering renewable generators, which include uncertainty of resource supply. It is called EIRR(effective installed reserve rate) in this paper. It is developed with considering capacity credit based on ELCC by using LOLE reliability criterion. While the conventional installed reserve rate index yields over-evaluation reliability of renewable generators, the proposed EIRR describes actual effective installed reserve rate. However, it is not the probabilistic reliability index as like as LOLE or EENS but another deterministic effective reliability index. The proposed EIRR is able to evaluate the realistic contribution to the reliability level for power system considering wind turbine generators and solar cell generators with high uncertainty in resource supply. The case study in model system as like as Jeju power system size presents a possibility that the proposed EIRR can be used practically as a new deterministic reliability index for generation expansion planning or operational planning in future.
This paper describes a statistical analysis method for predicting a coast fishing boat's effective horsepower. The EHP estimation method for small coast fishing boats was developed, based on a statistical regression analysis of model test results in a circulating water channel. The statistical regression formula of a fishing boat's effective horsepower is determined from the regression analysis of the resistance test results for 15 actual coast fishing boats. This method was applied to the effective horsepower prediction of a G/T 4 ton class coast fishing boat. From the estimation of the effective horsepower using this regression formula and the experimental model test of the G/T 4 ton class coast fishing boat, the estimation accuracy was verified under 10 percent of the design speed. However, the effective horsepower prediction method for coast fishing boats using the regression formula will be used at the initial design and hull-form development stage.
Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze and clarify the concept of the effective breastfeeding. Methods: This study used Walker and Avant's process of concept analysis. Results: Effective breastfeeding is how to give infant adequate milk, which fulfills needs of mother and infant, from her breast so that they can be satisfied with the process and results. It included the effective breastfeeding properties as follows: feeding behaviors (positioning, latch on, and suckling), transferring a breast milk to an infant, mother-infant interaction, and satisfying their desires (satisfaction, comfort, mother's self-confidence, infant's adequate weight gain and defecation, adequate breastfeeding interval). The antecedent of effective breastfeeding were anatomical and functional normal breast, breastfeeding knowledge and steady-state of mother, and feeding desire, rooting reflex and normal oral cavity of infant. The consequences of effective breastfeeding were exclusive breastfeeding, infant and maternal health and wellbeing, and achievement of mother and infant attachment. Conclusion: The meaning of effective breastfeeding defined in this study will contribute to develop the effectiveness breastfeeding assessment tool and the nursing intervention for ineffective breastfeeding.
Effective air-drying days for four seasons and districts were calculated from average monthly temperature, relative humidity and wind speed records for 24 districts in Korea and air-drying calendars were prepared. And these districts were divided into zones of effective air-drying days. These results were as follows. 1. Effective air-drying days for four seasons were 20 to 23 days in springtime, 30 days in summertime, 21 to 26 days in autumntime, and 8 to 17 days in wintertime. 2. Effective air-drying days variated from district to district and was 237 days, the shortest period, in Ch'unch$\breve{o}$n, and was 288 days, the longest period, in-S$\breve{o}$gwipo. 3. Effective air-drying days were primarilly related to the difference in temperature from month to month, and secondarily, especially in September, were related to the differences in relative humidity, and were not related to wind speed. 4. South Korea was divided into 4 zones of effective air-drying days and these zones had it little difference compared with meteorological zones.

The experimental animals treated with each extracts during 15 days before the immobilization stress. And each experimental animals were endowed with 12 hours immobilization stress. Then the brain, blood and urine catecholamine contents and serum total cholesterol, triglyceride and free fatty acid levels were studied. The result were as followed; 1. Walgukhwan, Walgukhwan+Ejintang and Walgukhwan+Samultang were not statistically effective to the changes of the body weight. 2. Walgukhwan was statistically effective to the increase of the blood norepinephrine content as compared with control. 3. Walgukhwan+Ejintang was statistically effective to the increase of the blood and urine norepinephrine contents as compared with control. 4. Walgukhwan+Samultang was statisticallv effective to the increase of the brain, blood and urine norepinephrine contents and also to the increase of the blood and urine dopamine contents as compared with control. 5. Walgukhwan was statistically effective to the increase of the serum free fatty acid level as compared with control. 6. Walgukhwan+Ejintang was statistically effective to the increase of the serum triglyceride and free fatty acid levels as compared with control. 7. Walgukhwan+Samultang was statistically effective to the increase of the serum total cholesterol, triglyceride and free fatty acid levels as compared with control.
Objective: The objectives of this study were to measure pediatric organ and effective doses of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) for orthodontic analysis and to compare them to those of panoramic and lateral cephalometric radiography, the conventional radiography for orthodontic analysis. Materials and Methods: Alphard VEGA for CBCT, Planmeca Proline XC for panoramic radiography and Orthophos CD for cephalometric radiography were used for this study. Thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) chips were located at 24 anatomic sites of 10-year-old anthropomorphic phantom and exposed during CBCT (C-mode; $200{\times}179mm$ FOV), panoramic and lateral cephalometric radiographic procedures at the clinical exposure settings for 10-year-old patient. Pediatric organ and effective doses were measured and calculated using ICRP 2007 tissue weighting factors. Results: Effective doses of CBCT, panoramic radiography and lateral cephlometric radiography in pediatric clinical exposure settings were $292.5{\mu}Sv$, $19.3{\mu}Sv$, and $4.4{\mu}Sv$ respectively. The thyroid gland contributed most significantly to the effective dose in all the radiographic procedures. Conclusion: Effective dose of CBCT was about 12 times to conventional radiographic procedures for orthodontic analysis in pediatric patient. The use of CBCT for orthodontic analysis should be fully justified over conventional radiography and dose optimization to decrease thyroid dose is needed in pediatric patients.
It is of importance to determine the zero effective stress void ratio($e_{00}$), which is the void ratio at effective stress equal to zero, and the relationships of void ratio-effective stress and of void ratio-hydraulic conductivity for characterizing non-liner finite strain consolidation behavior for ultra-soft dredged materials. The zero effective stress void ratio means a transitional status from sedimentation to self-weight consolidation of very soft soil deposits, and acts as a starting point for self-weight consolidation in the non-linear finite strain numerical analysis such as PSDDF. In this paper, a new method for determining the zero effective stress void ratio has been introduced with the aid of measuring electrical resistivity of the specimen. A correlation between the zero effective stress void ratio and the initial slurry void ratio has been proposed, which can be used in PSDDF analysis as an input parameter. Combining all of the accessible experimental data, the consolidation characteristics of a dredged soil from the Incheon area has been studied in detail.
Theoretical and numerical assessments of approximate evaluations and simplified analyses of piezoelectric structures transverse shear modal effective electromechanical coupling coefficient (EMCC) are presented. Therefore, the latter is first introduced theoretically and its approximate evaluations are reviewed; then, three-dimensional (3D) and simplified two-dimensional (2D) plane-strain (PStrain) and plane-stress (PStress) piezoelectric constitutive behaviors of electroded shear piezoceramic patches are derived and corresponding expected short-circuit (SC) and open-circuit (OC) frequencies and resulting EMCC are discussed; next, using a piezoceramic shear sandwich beam cantilever typical benchmark, a 3D finite element (FE) assessment of different evaluation techniques of the shear modal effective EMCC is conducted, including the equipotential (EP) constraints effect; finally, 2D PStrain and PStress FE modal analyses under SC and OC electric conditions, are conducted and corresponding results (SC/OC frequencies and resulting effective EMCC) are compared to 3D ones. It is found that: (i) physical EP constraints reduce drastically the shear modal effective EMCC; (ii) PStress and PStrain results depend strongly on the filling foam stiffness, rendering inadequate the use of popular equivalent single layer models for the transverse shear-mode sandwich configuration; (iii) in contrary to results of piezoelectric shunted damping and energy harvesting popular single-degree-of-freedom-based models, transverse shear modal effective EMCC values are very small in particular for the first mode which is the common target of these applications.
This study investigated the effect of mixing protease and lipase on detergency. The detergency of protein soiled, oil soiled and protein-oil soiled cloths and the relative hydrolytic activity of enzymes were examined. The protease-lipase added detergent solution was most effective for the removal of protein in protein-oil soiled cloths. This is because the lipase removed the protein that was physically bound to oil as well as the protease removed the protein. The protease added detergent solution was second effective, the lipase added detergent solution was third effective, and the detergent solution without protease and lipase was the least effective. The protease-lipase added detergent solution was also most effective in the oil removal from protein-oil soiled cloths. Unlike in protein removal, however, the protease added detergent solution was more effective in oil removal than the lipase added detergent solution. This is because the removal of oil bound to protein by protease was more effective than the removal of oil by lipase. In soiling-washing cycles, however, the effects of lipase increased, and as a result, the detergency of protease added detergent solution and the lipase added detergent solution became similar.
