  • This study attempted to collect learners' emotion and state motivation, analyze their inner states, and measure state motivation using a non-self-reported survey. Emotions were measured by learning segment in detailed learning situations, and they were used to indicate total state motivation with prediction power. Emotion was also used to explain state motivation by learning segment. The purpose of this study was to overcome the limitations of video-based learning environments by verifying whether the emotions measured during individual learning segments can be used to indicate the learner's state motivation. Sixty-eight students participated in a 90-minute to measure their emotions and state motivation, and emotions showed a statistically significant relationship between total state motivation and motivation by learning segment. Although this result is not clear because this was an exploratory study, it is meaningful that this study showed the possibility that emotions during different learning segments can indicate state motivation.

  • This study seeks to prove three points through the research. The first point is to examine the changes of international attitudes with actual experiences using synchronous international distance learning. The second point is to examine the effectiveness of a synchronous international distance system. And the final point is to compare international attitudes among middle school and undergraduate school students in Korea and Japan. The study used the DVTS for audio and video communication tools and automatic translating chat as a text communication tool. This combination of communication tools was very effective for students from both countries to communicate for international collaborative learning activities. The study found several interesting patterns of attitude change from the results of the study. For whole category analysis, there are positive changes in four categories of international attitudes: consciousness to foreign countries, consideration for other's viewpoints, motivation for international education, and recognition for the counterpart country. However, there was no change in the nationality category.

Following up, a self-respect test form and a questionnaire were made to verify of the group consultation to the video-based education system, and by analyzing the test form and the questionnaire, the conclusion of this study was finally drawn. The conclusion gained through the process adove is as follows: It turned out that real-time video-based cyber group consultation promoted self-respect and enthusiastic participation of consulters as well as formed emotinal stability and a close affinity between the consultant and the consulter through active interaction. The results of this video-based education system operation will be helpful to broaden the area of elementary school cyber group consultation. Further, it is thought that it will contribute to the basic investigation to verify the educational effects of Multi-point imaging system in the run-up to the operation of full-scale real-time video-based education systems.

Video instruction may provide a consistent from of teaching in a visual and realistic manner. We evaluated the effect of educational video on the patient understanding and satisfaction in a group of geriatric patients visiting pain clinic. Methods: Ninety two patients aged more than 60 years old who were scheduled for transforaminal epidural block were recruited. After exposure to either video or paper instruction process, each patient was asked 5-item comprehension questions, overall satisfaction and preference question. During follow-up period, number of outpatient referral-line call for further explanation was counted. Results: We observed significantly better comprehension in the video education compared with paper instruction (P < 0.001). Patient satisfaction was also higher in the video group (P = 0.015), and patients visiting pain clinic were more preferred video instruction (P < 0.001). Proportion of referral-line call for further explanation were similar (P = 0.302). Conclusions: Video approach to instruction process before consent improves treatment comprehension in geriatric patient visiting pain clinic.

  • As the broadcasting system rapidly migrates to the HD contents production, a broadcasting professional training program has increasingly requested, which provides a professional ability keeping up with new demands and a systematic well-organized education program. This paper utilized a DACUM(developing a curriculum) method for a video editor's job analysis and presented a job model of video editing. With a DACUM job analysis, we retrieved 9 essential job duties and 71 tasks, and then examined their importance, difficulty, frequency, and entry level tasks that are required before job hire. We also established a well-form structure of the job analysis results, completed a DACUM research chart, and consequently built a video editor's job model in TV broadcasting and video production areas. The proposed model is expected to be used as a fundamental material for a future job organization of video editors in TV broadcasting and video production areas, a development of the educational curriculum, and a priority decision of on-the-job training programs.
