  • The use and need of health and nutrition information on the PC communication and internet among university students at Chungbuk area were investigated. The data from 167 students from two different universities were collected and analyzed from March to May, 1998. The results are as follows. 1. Male students were 27.5% and female students were 72.5%. 2. Sixty percent and 74.7% of the students had ever used PC communication and internet, respectively. Higher proportions of male students had experiences in PC communication and internet use than fe male students. The main reasons to use PC communication and internet were 1)to obtain information and knowledge(67.4%) 2)to enjoy(10.5%), 3)to make friends or to talk(5.3%) 3. About 40% of the experienced students of the PC communication of internet obtained health or nutrition information. However, only 25% of the experienced students obtained the nutrition information from the internet. Only 10% of the students agreed that the information from the PC communication and internet was very useful. The reasons not to use the information from the PC communication and internet were 'lack of expertise of the information' and 'long response time'. Many students thought that the information provided through the computer should be improved in terms of variety and applicability to the real situation. 4. Among the 33 topics of the health and nutrition information given on the questionnaire, both male and female students had the greatest interest in stress management. The next topics in which female students had interests were diet for weight control, health problems related to menstration, dietary assessment, and cancer prevention. In male students, dietary assessment, infant nutrition management, hypertention diet were the main interests. On the basis of these results an information system on health and nutrition management during the lifecycle for Korean women will be constructed on the internet.

  • Changes in the distribution and sharing information using the Internet is changing the most part in our daily life, Utilizing the Internet of our lives to the rapid development of IT technology, are living in the off-line (off-line) and online (on-line) a mix of life, We expect now online life specific gravity is further increased. However, do not systematically implement the education of Internet ethics awareness deficiencies of objective indicators to assess the current knowledge level of the Internet ethics is the actual situation. Therefore, in this paper, it provides a development process in order to establish a common standard for the evaluation of Internet ethics index. Development procedure of Internet ethics index in order to establish a common standard, "evaluation item (draft) derivation", "Creating a questionnaire", "the calculation of the analysis and item-by-item weight of the questionnaire", and a common reference determination of the stage having. Was also a questionnaire that target 46 people to calculate the weight of the common reference. Internet ethics index evaluation model through the establishment of the common standards developed in this paper, municipal road Office of Education, related organizations, high school, such as small, medium, can be utilized as an indicator to measure the Internet ethics education level.

  • Modern technology offers many ways to enhance teaching and learning that in turn promote the development of tools for educational activities both inside and outside the classroom. Many educational programs using the augmented reality (AR) technology are being widely used to provide supplementary learning materials for students. This paper describes the potential and challenges of using GeoGebra AR in mathematical studies, whereby students can view 3D geometric objects for a better understanding of their structure, and verifies the feasibility of its use based on experimental results. The GeoGebra software can be used to draw geometric objects, and 3D geometric objects can be viewed using AR software or AR applications on mobile phones or computer tablets. These could provide some of the required materials for mathematical education at high schools or universities. The use of the GeoGebra application for education in Laos will be particularly discussed in this paper.

  • Robot programming often sparks students' interest in programming, but it is not easy for them to program both procedure and reactivity of robot movements that are essential requirements. In this study, we reviewed in detail a new programming language, State-Based Squeak. It allows novice students to implement both procedure and reactivity of robots easily. The effect of this new language on robot programming education was also examined using a group of 28 middle school students. According to the results of analyzing the students' understanding of programming, reading and programming abilities the group that used State-Based Squeak (the experimental group) showed a higher completion ratio than the other (control) group. The significance of this study is that a robot programming language has been developed that addresses the concepts of both procedure and reactivity in such a way that middle school students can more easily learn how to program robots, something that is often difficult to attempt even for professional programmers.

  • One of the representative side effects in current information and knowledge society is internet addiction. Nowadays single-parent families become popular due to various reasons such as increasing divorce ratio and government supports for single-parent family. National research works showed that internet addiction ratio of single-parent family children is higher than that of children of intact families. The research purpose of this paper is to investigate correlation between internet addiction and parent types. For this purpose, extensive and national survey works of NIA(National Information Society Agency of Korea) are collected and analyzed. Based on statistical analysis work, it is concluded that there is no meaningful correlation between internet addiction and parent types.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine middle school teachers' use of technology and problem-based learning (PBL) in their teaching practice. Factors related to teachers' use of technology and PBL are also investigated including: teachers' computer and Internet skills, feelings of preparedness to use the Internet, attitudes toward the use of web resources, pedagogical beliefs, science teaching efficacy, and the use of general teaching strategies. Twenty-seven middle school science, math, and technology teachers participated in the study. Research results describe the participants as slightly proficient in computer and Internet skills, positive toward use of web resources, and neutral on feelings of preparedness toward use of computer and the Internet. Participants also tended toward constructivist pedagogical beliefs and used various teaching strategies. They, however, reported low science teaching efficacy. Teachers' use of computers and the Internet correlated with pedagogical beliefs and feelings of preparedness toward the use of computers and the Internet. The study also found the relationships between the use of PBL and teachers' computer and internet skills, pedagogical beliefs, and the use of general teaching strategies. Also discussed are meaningful implications for teachers' professional development, especially for the programs designed to facilitate the use of web-enhanced PBL.

  • Addiction to online games has been causing many problems for elementary school students such as school life, humanity, scholarship and physique. Considering the increase in children being addicted to internet games, there are growing needs for attention and countermeasures toward the children. Nevertheless, it leaves something to be desired. Especially, studies and counterplans for the children who live in the metropolitan are not suited with the circumstances of each regional child. Therefore, it's necessary to work out new research by regional student groups. That is why this study understands fundamental facts about the usage of the internet of elementary school students living in Geoje, Gyeongnam and figures out the effects of online game addiction on the formation of character. Also, it suggests the right direction of internet use to parents and teachers, as rousing the public interest about computer game addiction.

  • It has been widely recognized that our educational system hasn't been able to keep up with the fast advancement of technological development. We can frequently meet the expression: students of twenty-first century and schools and teachers of nineteenth century. All the people in this country arouse their interest in education and exclaim as experts. However, there's no one to believe that the condition of education is improved. Currently, as internet is being delved into all parts of society, cyber education is being spread with rapid speed. I want to focus on some of the issues raised during the last two years from some of the institutions built on the internet using this new technology. This study will find the limits of cyber education with virtual class and suggest devices to overcome the faults.
