  • ICT capacity building education in developing countries with poor infrastructure is a solution to help solve ICT gaps and improve economic performance. However, there is a clear difference between countries' geographical and industrial level in terms of geographical and industrial aspects. Therefore, it is necessary to design customized educational contents for each country according to the status of various industries in each country rather than uniform and unilateral ICT capacity building education. This should be followed by a basic understanding of the current situation. The purpose of this study is to identify the level of ICT technology and curricula for female students at Life University of Cambodia among developing countries, and to find out the subjects related to industry in that region and to propose policies for continuous operation.

  • While great efforts are being exerted on the reform of teacher training to provide integrated use of ICT in a teaching-learning process with educational informatization, it is still indicated that a teachers' training school fails to prepare leachers for incorporating information Communication and Technology (ICT) properly into an instructional process. Based on this awareness, this study aims at examining and analyzing the ability level of In utilization training for preservice teachers and thus at providing basic data to perform ICT utilization teaching-learning according to the seventh curriculum in a school. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with preservice teachers (seniors) in a college of education, Kongju National University and the collected data were analyzed using a Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) 12.0 program.

  • This article discusses the possibilities and limitations of ICT education by reviewing the previous research on its various aspects including educational goals, contents, methods, and evaluation. First, when it comes to its educational goal, the prior studies suggest that ICT education aims to nurture digital citizenship among students and to enable them to participate in different sectors of our society. ICT education characterizes the core capacities of its future learners as 'lifelong learners,' 'information producers/consumers,' and 'local/global citizens.' Second, in regard to the educational content of ICT education, researchers investigate SW education importantly: They develop the educational programs and examine the effectiveness of those programs. However, to ensure the relevancy of the educational contents to the future society, institutional support is imperative including facilitating educators' capacities and synchronizing ICT education with subject education. Third, as the educational methods, various ICTs such as flipped learning and augmented reality (AR) are being applied to actual classroom teaching. Research on the educational methods, which is the most vibrant area in the ICT education scholarship, is expected to improve the previous educational methods and to lead the qualitative development of ICT education. Fourth, the previous discussion on the educational evaluation focuses on computer-based evaluations. Educational evaluation using ICT will enable educators to assess the characteristics and achievement of an individual learner accurately and to lead them to apply a teaching-learning process effectively, which will ultimately enhance the effectiveness of educational evaluation. Along with the overall review on the possibilities of ICT education, this article discusses the limitations of the current ICT education and its implications for educational inequalities.

  • Internet overdependence has become a public health concern in Korea. It is well known that family and community level efforts could alleviate possible harms from Internet use. However, little research exists regarding smartphone overdependence. This study examines factors affecting smartphone overdependence and, specifically, help-seeking for smartphone overdependence among Korean adolescents. The study is based on parental mediation theory and uses a help-seeking framework. The results indicate that preventative education provided by school and community increases the levels of awareness of both the possible harms from smartphone use and the option of accessing the mental health service, while it was not effective in preventing smartphone overdependence. Parental mediation was a protective factor for smartphone overdependence but was negatively associated with the intention to use the mental health service. In sum, behavioral problems related to smartphone use require multidimensional preventative efforts from both the family and the community. It is suggested that effective preventive education methods are developed for parents and adolescents.

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution has been revolutionizing industry and education. This paper proposes an education platform, Smart Space EduPlatform (SSEP), for the real estate industry, aimed at educating the basic real estate technology (RETech) for workers in the real estate industry so they can achieve the highest and best use of the real estate in the smart environment. The habitat of SSEP is driven by the donation system ensuring sustainability, various technical functions such as tools for content production and learning participation, and learning behavior frameworks each in form of a learner, a teacher, and a helper. Services of SSEP consist of 17 important RETech lectures under 6 categories-planning and design, decision-making, management, economics, construction, and equipment-and project-based learning (PBL) curriculums. The lectures are provided along with video contents, additional learning materials and learning management service, while teachers' workshops, learner invitation and registration management, curriculum operation services are offered for the PBL curriculums.

  • With the development of social media services in the era of Web 2.0, the public opinion formation site has been partially shifted from the traditional mass media to social media. This phenomenon is continuing to expand, and public opinions on government polices created and shared on social media are attracting more attention. It is particularly important to grasp public opinions in policy formulation because setting up educational policies involves a variety of stakeholders and conflicts. The purpose of this study is to explore public opinions about education-related policies through an empirical analysis of social media documents on education policies using opinion mining techniques. For this purpose, we collected the education policy-related documents by keyword, which were produced by users through the social media service, tokenized and extracted sentimental qualities of the documents, and scored the qualities using sentiment dictionaries to find out public preferences for specific education policies. As a result, a lot of negative public opinions were found regarding the smart education policies that use the keywords of digital textbooks and e-learning; while the software education policies using coding education and computer thinking as the keywords had more positive opinions. In addition, the general policies having the keywords of free school terms and creative personality education showed more negative public opinions. As much as 20% of the documents were unable to extract sentiments from, signifying that there are still a certain share of blog posts or tweets that do not reflect the writers' opinions.
