Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of fathers about early childhood parenting. Methods: Selected fathers of children in early childhood were interviewed, and an open-ended questionnaire was utilized to identify the fathers' awareness of the meaning of parenting, priority for parenting, opinions on paternal roles as a child raiser, parenting difficulties, and what education they wanted to receive as fathers. After their statements were collected, a content analysis was done. Results: Results of the content analysis showed there were 45 significant statements, which were classified into 17 categories. The fathers saw the meaning of parenting as being in five different domains: social, cognitive, emotional, physical and environmental. As for paternal roles, they thought that a fathers should serve as emotional supporters. The parenting difficulties that they faced were attributed to time constraints. Conclusion: For fathers, development of parent education programs that deal with early childhood parenting knowledge, communication methods and how to play with children according to their developmental stages are required, and qualitative research should be implemented to keep track of the process of changes in parenting characteristics.
Purpose: This study was aimed to construct an algorithm of dyspnea emergency care and develop a simulation scenario for emergency care of dyspnea based on the algorithm. Methods: The first stage of this methodological study was to construct a preliminary algorithm based on a literature review, and content and clinical validity were established. Reflecting the result of content and clinical validity for this preliminary algorithm, simulation scenario was developed based on the modified Bay Area Simulation Collaborative scenario template. The content validity of this scenario was established, and clinical applicability was tested by applying this scenario to nurses. Results: The final simulation scenario of emergency care of dyspnea consisted of scenario overview, curricular integrity, and scenario script. The scenario was proceeded on 7 phases of the algorithm as follows; initial assessment, immediate emergency care, reassessment of dyspnea, monitoring respiratory failure, checking pulse if respiratory failure occurs, decision making on cardiopulmonary resuscitation or intubation, determining a differential diagnosis according to origin of dyspnea. Conclusion: The simulation scenario of emergency care of dyspnea developed in this study may provide a strategy of simulation education for emergency care of dyspnea for nurses.
This study presents how a professional development program (PD) of K-12 teachers affects participants' use of the earth system approach and their perceptions of using the urban environment for their science teaching and lesson unit development. This study utilized mixed methods to collect and analyze the data. Eleven urban teachers' pre-post lessons (45 lessons) were analyzed quantitatively using a lesson plan analysis tool, modified by the author, and their lesson reflections were analyzed qualitatively. The findings of this study show that the PD program influences the teachers to choose more topics and content knowledge based on the earth system approach and to assess the topics and content knowledge with more appropriate methods. Specifically, the teachers use more urban environmental factors/topics in their post lesson to teach the environmental topics of urban area. However, according to the statistical analysis of pre-and postlesson plan scores, the accuracy of the earth system knowledge that participants used in their lessons did not change significantly (p<0.05) (Table 4), which means that the PD program did not affect the improvement of the teacher's content knowledge in earth system science. Implications of this study are discussed.
In this study, we propose a development environment for authoring quiz contents, which is based on the concept of "Gamification", which is the principle of Engagement and Reward. Future Services As a platform for authoring and composing technology, and also for educational contents authoring, I have reviewed key features and implications of HTML5 (CSS3.0, Java Script, etc.) along with key technologies. These features are key technologies for building a true smart learning environment. Based on this, a case of applying the gamification technique to enhance the educational effect was proposed through the quiz contents model.
Based on the analysis of commonalities and differences in the views of science achievement in major reform documents in the United States and Korea, an aggregated view of science achievement is presented in this paper Science achievement is conceived of in terms of science content and science process. The components of science content include: (a) concepts and theories I n physical, life, and earth and space science;(b) science, mathematics, and technology;(c) science in personal and social perspectives;(d)history and nature of science;and (e) unifying themes. The components of science process include: (a) scientific understanding;(b) scientific investigation;(c) scientific communication; and (d) scientific habits of mind. The components of science process.cut across and intersect with the components of science content. The components of science achievement overlap and are related to one another. Despite such an overlap, understanding the rot e that each component plays provides insight into its unique contributions as well as its interactions with other components. A definition of science achievement and identification of its components based on major reform documents provides a guideline for science assessment as well a s science teaching and learning.
The aim of this study to provide basic reference data for the development of video contents used in pattern drafting education and to explore the possibility of utilizing YouTube videos in such education. Subject videos were selected using the number of views. A total of 596 videos and 28 channels were analyzed for the period July to September 2019 and the results are as follows. With regard to content, there were 27 pattern drafting items, the majority being dress, pants, skirt, blouse and sleeve drafting, although high-level content such as cowl, bustier, corset patterns were also available. Therefore, there is a high likelihood that YouTube videos could be used as educational material, especially as supplementary references to provide specific examples and easy explanations for difficult concepts or method, for students majoring in this field. However, as most videos currently focus on a few items, expanding video content to features a wider variety of clothing items at different levels is necessary. With regard to video length, it mostly ranged from 10 to 15 minutes. It is not advisable to create lengthy lecture-style videos expounding on different principles or variations in pattern drafting when developing educational video material.
Objectives: While cinema is regarded in the contemporary popular leisure activities, the presentation smoking scenes in films has not been fully studied. We investigated Korean box-office hit movies by using content analysis. Methods: We sampled fifty-one hit films played in Korean cinemas during the period 2000-2013. Here, a hit film is defined as a movie viewed by at least 5,000,000 audiences. Results: We found that 78.1% of the Korean hit films contained smoking scenes, whereas only 15.6% of the American hit films were so. Films with the more frequent number of smoking scenes could be lined up in the order of crime, thriller, and action genres (p<.05). Smoking actors were leading roles, hence attractive characters appealing to the audience. Moreover, the smoking rate of female characters in the films was determined to be 3.66 times greater than the actual smoking rate of females in reality. Conclusions: Smoking scenes are likely to affect the audiences' cognitive priming and/or social learning with respect to smoking. Therefore, it would be necessary to set a restriction standard to the frequency of smoking scenes to appear Korean films, and to consider it as an important factor in the assigning a screening grade to such films.

We propose a seamless IPTV transport technology of mobile device. This technology uses multiple interfaces of wireless communication on mobile device. This proposal for transportation of mobile IPTV contents is more mobile and adaptable than other wireless technologies that are currently being used. Algorithm of proposed technology is as follow. When the signal strength of the connected wireless network interface of mobile device is getting lower than specified level, another wireless network interface is connected to continue downloading the IPTV contents in advance. Another connection is maintained until the signal strength of the first connected interface is stable or the interface is connected to another base station (or AP) that have good signal strength. For more seamless services, we consider classifying the packets of mobile IPTV and using dynamic content quality select techniques. Dynamic content quality selection is based on notifying transfer rate to the content delivery network (CDN) server. The proposed technology is expected to use efficiently with both mobile IPTV and the transportation of mobile P2P/P4P.

In order to achieve faster content distribution speed and stronger fault tolerance, a P2P peer can connect to multiple peers in parallel and receive chunks of the data simultaneously. A critical issue in this environment is selecting a set of nodes participating in swarming sessions. Previous related researches only focus on performance metrics, such as downloading time or the round-trip time, but in this paper, we consider a new performance metric which is closely related to the network and propose a peer selection algorithm that produces the set of peers generating optimal worst link stress. We prove that the optimal algorithm is practicable and has the advantages with the experiments on PlanetLab. The algorithm optimizes the congestion level of the bottleneck link. It means the algorithm can maximize the affordable throughput. Second, the network load is well balanced. A balanced network improves the utilization of resources and leads to the fast content distribution. We also notice that if every client follows our algorithm in selecting peers, the probability is high that all sessions could benefit. We expect that the algorithm in this paper can be used complementary to existing methods to derive new and valuable insights in peer-to-peer networking.
This study examined thirty-one Korean students' pronunciation of an English passage using a speech recognition application, Speechnotes, and two Canadian raters' evaluations of their speech according to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band criteria to assess the possibility of using the application as a teaching aid for pronunciation education. The results showed that the grand average percentage of correctly recognized words was 77.7%. From the moderate recognition rate, the pronunciation level of the participants was construed as intermediate and higher. The recognition rate varied depending on the composition of the content words and the function words in each given sentence. Frequency counts of unrecognized words by group level and word type revealed the typical pronunciation problems of the participants, including fricatives and nasals. The IELTS bands chosen by the two native raters for the rainbow passage had a moderately high correlation with each other. A moderate correlation was reported between the number of correctly recognized content words and the raters' bands, while an almost a negligible correlation was found between the function words and the raters' bands. From these results, the author concludes that the speech recognition application could constitute a partial aid for diagnosing each individual's or the group's pronunciation problems, but further studies are still needed to match human raters.
