The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of resistance training on BMD and bone metabolism related markers in aging rats. Thirty male Spraugue-Daweley rats were divided into sedentary (CON; n=10 ) non-load resistance trained(NLRTG; n=10), and load resistance trained(LRTG; n=10) groups at the age of 64 weeks. The rats in the resistance training groups((NLRTG and LRTG) performed the tower climbing exercise 4 times a week. The LRTG groups were conditioned to climb a vertical ladder with weights appended to their tail 4 days/wk for 12 wks. After 12 weeks of exercise, serum osteocalcin, bone mineral density (BMD), breaking force, ash, Ca, and P in the femur were measured. After training, serum osteocalcin (OC) was significantly (p < 0.05) higher in both LRTG and NLRTG when compared to Control. Right femur BMD was significantly (p < 0.05) greater for LRTG when compared to both NLRTG and Control with no significant difference between NLRTG and Conrtol. The breaking force of femur was significantly (p < 0.05) greater for LRTG and NLRTG when compared to Control. The Ash, Ca, content of femur were significantly increased in resistance training groups than control group. These results suggest that the increase in bone mineral density induced by resistance training is mediated by changes in bone microarchitecture as well as training intensity and osteocalcin.

The advancement of digital technology and the impact of COVID-19 have brought about changes in corporate innovation and organizational culture, thereby highlighting the significance of Smart Learning in the field of HRD (Human Resource Development). This trend has led to an increased interest in personalized Smart Learning among employees due to the growth of hybrid work and the widespread adoption of smart work practices. This study aimed to illuminate the relative importance of the factors that constitute Smart Learning from the perspective of HRD practitioners. Through a review of prior literature, Smart Learning hierarchy and factors most fitting to the current context were identified, and their relative importance was determined using the AHP method. Consequently, in the first-tier factors, importance was confirmed in the order of 'Learning Activities', 'Teaching Activities', 'Learning Content', 'Assessment and Evaluations', and 'Learning Time and Space'. At the second-tier encompassing all factors, 'Pedagogical Strategy', 'Learning Results', 'Learning Tasks', 'Learning Goal', and 'Learning Support' emerged within the top five factors. These findings are significant in that they redefine the concept of smart learning and propose an academic framework for future research. Additionally, from a practical perspective, it is anticipated that this study will contribute valuable insights for HRD practitioners, aiding them in focusing on which factors to prioritize for enhancing and advancing Smart Learning initiatives.
Purpose As part of ongoing efforts to improve the current e-learning center, a survey was conducted regarding user experience and satisfaction to identify areas of improvement. Materials and Methods Radiologists (n = 454/617) and radiology residents (n = 163/617) of the Korean Society of Radiology were asked to answer a survey via email. Through the 106th session of the International Maritime Organization(IMO)'s Maritime Safety Committee(MSC), a mandatory safety training requirement for all personnel transferred or accommodated for offshore industrial activities was established and adopted under the name of SOLAS Chapter XV, IP(Industrial Personnel) Code. This regulation mandates pre-boarding safety training to enable individuals to anticipate and mitigate hazardous risks in navigation and operational environments. Consequently, the IP Code includes provisions regarding the training content for industrial personnel and regulations for the refusal of master who has a full responsibility for individuals who have not completed the required training(non-qualified industrial personnel). Referred to as the IP Code, this agreement is set to enter into force in July 2024, necessitating the establishment and operation of safety education for industrial personnel boarding ships before that date. Accordingly, this paper reviews the legal requirements related to training within IP code and analyzes the details of models including training objectives, target audience, duration, and course structure of safety trainings such as STCW, OPITO, GWO training, and other delegated training related to current ships. Additionally, it aims to propose a curriculum model for IP training courses which consists of a total of 16 hours over 2 days, offered by the Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology, including teaching objectives, duration, and course structure.
Objective: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous non-coding RNAs that can play a role in the post-transcriptional regulation of mammalian preadipocyte differentiation. However, the precise functional mechanism of its regulation of fat metabolism is not fully understood. Methods: We identified bta-miR-365-3p, which specifically targets the 3' untranslated region (3'UTR) of the FK506-binding protein 5 (FKBP5), and verified its mechanisms for regulating expression and involvement in adipogenesis. Results: In this study, we found that the overexpression of bta-miR-365-3p significantly decreased the lipid accumulation and triglyceride content in the adipocytes. Compared to inhibiting bta-miR-36 5-3p group, overexpression of bta-miR-365-3p can inhibit the expression of adipocyte differentiation-related genes C/EBPα and PPARγ. The dual-luciferase reporter system further validated the targeting relationship between bta-miR-365-3p and FKBP5. FKBP5 mRNA and protein expression were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot. Overexpression of bta-miR-365-3p significantly down-regulated FKBP5 expression, while inhibition of bta-miR-365-3p showed the opposite, indicating that bta-miR-365-3p negatively regulates FKBP5. Adenosine 5'-monophosphate (AMP)-activated protein kinase/mammalian target of rapamycin (AMPK/mTOR) signaling pathway is closely related to the regulation of cell growth and is involved in the development of bovine adipocytes. In this study, overexpression of bta-miR-365-3p significantly inhibited mRNA and protein expression of AMPK, mTOR, and SREBP1 genes, while the inhibition of bta-miR-365-3p expression was contrary to these results. Overexpression of FKBP5 significantly upregulated AMPK, mTOR, and SREBP1 gene expression, while inhibition of FKBP5 expression was contrary to the above experimental results. Conclusion: In conclusion, these results indicate that bta-miR-365-3p may be involved in the AMPK/mTOR signaling pathway in regulating Yanbian yellow cattle preadipocytes differentiation by targeting the FKBP5 gene.
