응력함수와 층간면 모델링을 이용한 복합재 적층판의 3차원 응력해석 (Three Dimensional Stress Analysis of Composite Laminates using Stress Functions and Interface Modeling)

  • 복합재 적층판의 자유단 근처에서 나타나는 층간 응력의 집중 현상을 층간면 효과를 고려해 해석하였다. 복합재 적층판 내부의 임의의 위치에서 3차원 평형방정식을 만족시키기 위해 렉니츠키 응력함수를 도입하였으며, 가상일의 원리를 이용하여 지배방정식을 유도하였다. 주어진 응력함수를 이용하여 구한 3차원 응력들은 복합재 적층판의 아래 위 면뿐만 아니라 자유단에서 하중자유조건을 잘 만족한다. 기하학적 불연속성 때문에 복합재 적층판의 자유단에서는 응력의 특이가 발생하지만, 층간면 효과를 고려하게 되면 층간응력의 집중현상을 정확하게 해석할 수 있다. 자유단에서 발생한 층간응력의 크기를 보면, 층간면 효과를 고려할 경우, 응력특이 효과가 많이 줄어드는 것을 관찰할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 주어진 층간면에서의 정확한 응력 해석은 복합재 적층판의 강도설계를 수행하는 초기 설계 툴로 사용할 수 있다.

  • 인간의 좌·우 두 눈에 투영되는 2차원 영상의 양안 시차를 이용하여 물체의 깊이를 인식하는 스테레어 영상이라고 한다. 이러한 2차원 스테레오 영상으로부터 3차원 모델 생성을 위한 깊이 정보를 알기 위해서는 각각의 두 영상에 대응되는 점의 위치를 알 수 있는 변위의 추정이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 블록 크기에 매우 민감하게 영향 받는 영역기반 방식의 단점을 보완하기 위하여 경계선 정보를 이용한 가변 블록 방식의 변위 추정을 수행한다. 이것은 블록의 크기를 경계선 정보에 따라 가변적으로 정함으로써 정밀한 변위 추성을 할 수 있고 또한 계산량도 많이 줄일 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 이렇게 추정된 변위 정보를 이용하여 특징점에 대한 깊이 정보를 찾아 3차원 모델을 생성한다.

Numerical Modeling of an Inductively Coupled Plasma Sputter Sublimation Deposition System

  • Fluid model based numerical simulation was carried out for an inductively coupled plasma assisted sputter deposition system. Power absorption, electron temperature and density distribution was modeled with drift diffusion approximation. Effect of an electrically conducting substrate was analyzed and showed confined plasma below the substrate. Part of the plasma was leaked around the substrate edge. Comparison between the quasi-neutrality based compact model and Poisson equation resolved model showed more broadened profile in inductively coupled plasma power absorption than quasi-neutrality case, but very similar Ar ion number density profile. Electric potential was calculated to be in the range of 50 V between a Cr rod source and a conductive substrate. A new model including Cr sputtering by Ar+was developed and used in simulating Cr deposition process. Cr was modeled to be ionized by direct electron impact and showed narrower distribution than Ar ions.

Accurate FDTD Analysis of Bow-tie Antenna

  • In this paper, FDTD analysis of the bow-tie antenna is investigated by incorporating static field solution that is suitable to the bow-tie antenna without increasing computational time. Transforming static feld solution to the rotated grid system, we can obtain the transformed static field solution which is able to represent field behavior near the oblique edge line of the bow-tie antenna. The result shows a good agreement with a MoM analysis and is compared conformal modeling technique and regular FDTD method.

  • In this paper the attention is focused on the modeling of reinforced concrete(R/C) wall structures to check effectiveness and reliability of elasto-plastic analysis. A relatively simple and reliable wall model is investigated, which is suitable to be efficiently incorporated in a practical pushover analysis of R/C wall structural systems. Two types of analogous frames have been examined to the stress analysis of shear walls. One analogous frame is similar to the widely used wide-column model, the second analogous frame also is called truss model which includes vertical edge column and braces. Further studies are needed to apply to nonlinear seismic analysis of building structure with R/C shear walls.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for simplification of 3D triangular mesh data, based on mesh simplification. The proposed algorithm is first attempt to segment the entire mesh into several parts using the orientation of triangles. Then simplification algorithm is applied to each segment that has similar geometric property. The proposed two step multi-resolution modeling scheme would yield better performance then conventional algorithm like edge collapse technique, since the segmentation step can give global information on the input shape. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is performed efficiently.

Fusion of LIDAR Data and Aerial Images for Building Reconstruction

  • From the view point of data fusion, we integrate LIDAR data and digital aerial images to perform 3D building modeling in this study. The proposed scheme comprises two major parts: (1) building block extraction and (2) building model reconstruction. In the first step, height differences are analyzed to detect the above ground areas. Color analysis is then performed for the exclusion of tree areas. Potential building blocks are selected first followed by the refinement of building areas. In the second step, through edge detection and extracting the height information from LIDAR data, accurate 3D edges in object space is calculated. The accurate 3D edges are combined with the already developed SMS method for building modeling. LIDAR data acquired by Leica ALS 40 in Hsin-Chu Science-based Industrial Park of north Taiwan will be used in the test.

  • The instrument landing system (ILS) is an international standard established by the International civil aviation organization (ICAO) as one of the landing support facilities for aircraft. This system consists of a localizer (LOC) that provides orientation information about the runway to indicate the approach direction, a glide path (GP) that indicates the appropriate approach glide slope, and three of marker beacons (MB) that indicates the distance to the runway landing edge. In this study, we predicted the received signal strength by altitude and distance for LOC signals transmitted from the ground and analyzed the difference with the signal strength measured in the actual environment. Our objective is to develop signal strength prediction technology and apply it to the real environment.

Is-A Node Type Modeling Methodology to Improve Pattern Query Performance in Graph Database

  • 그래프 데이터베이스에서 패턴질의는 관계 데이터베이스 SQL과 비교하여 질의의 쉬운 표현, 높은 질의 처리 성능을 기대할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나 그래프 데이터베이스는 관계 데이터베이스와 달리 논리적 데이터 모델을 구축하는 방법론이 정의되어 있지 않아 모델링에 따라 패턴 질의의 장점을 활용하지 못할 수 있다. 본 연구는 그래프 모델링 과정 중 나타나는 is-a 노드 모델링 방법에서 일반화 모델로 설계할 경우와 특수화 모델로 설계할 경우 그래프 패턴질의의 성능 차이가 있음을 실험하였다. 실험 결과 is-a 노드 설계를 특수화 모델로 설계할 경우 더 우수한 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 보였다. 또 추가로 패턴질의를 작성할 때 변수를 노드나 간선에 바인딩시키는 경우 그렇지 않는 경우보다 성능이 우수할 수 있음을 보였다. 실험 결과들은 그래프 데이터베이스에서 패턴질의에 대한 is-a 노드 모델링 방법 및 그래프 질의 작성 방법으로 제시될 수 있다.

Obstacle Modeling for Environment Recognition of Mobile Robots Using Growing Neural Gas Network

  • A major research issue associated with service robots is the creation of an environment recognition system for mobile robot navigation that is robust and efficient on various environment situations. In recent years, intelligent autonomous mobile robots have received much attention as the types of service robots for serving people and industrial robots for replacing human. To help people, robots must be able to sense and recognize three dimensional space where they live or work. In this paper, we propose a three dimensional environmental modeling method based on an edge enhancement technique using a planar fitting method and a neural network technique called "Growing Neural Gas Network." Input data pre-processing provides probabilistic density to the input data of the neural network, and the neural network generates a graphical structure that reflects the topology of the input space. Using these methods, robot's surroundings are autonomously clustered into isolated objects and modeled as polygon patches with the user-selected resolution. Through a series of simulations and experiments, the proposed method is tested to recognize the environments surrounding the robot. From the experimental results, the usefulness and robustness of the proposed method are investigated and discussed in detail.in detail.
