Progressive muscular dystrophy (PMD) is a primary muscle disease characterized by progressive muscle weakness and wasting, which is inherited by an X-linked recessive pattern and occurs mainly in males. There are several types of muscular dystrophies classified according to the distribution of predominant muscle weakness including Duchenne and Becker, Emery-Dreifuss, facioscapulohumeral, oculopharyngeal, and limb-girdle type. Clinical manifestations of PMD are clumsy, unsteady gait, pneumonia, heart failure, pulmonary edema, hydropericardium, hydrothorax, aspiration, syncopal attacks, and sudden cardiac death. The deceased was a 34-year-old man, and the onset of the first clinical symptom, gait disturbance, was in his late teens. His elder brother had the same disease and experienced brain death after a head trauma and died after mechanical ventilation was discontinued. After an autopsy, we found contracture of the joints, pseudohypertrophy of the calf, wasting and fat replacement of the thigh muscle, pericardial effusion (80 mL), fibrosis and fat replacement of the cardiac ventricular wall, pulmonary edema, and froth in the bronchus. The cause of death was heart failure and dyspnea due to muscular dystrophy. There was no sign or suspicion of foul play in his death.

임상에서 치료가 어려운 건선을 오래 앓아온 환자가 홍피성 건선이 발생하여 집중적인 입원치료 후 꾸준한 외래진료를 거쳐 호전된 경과를 볼 수 있었기에 보고하는 바이다. 상기 환자는 심장 질환을 동반하고 있었으며 그와 관련된 부종 등의 증상에도 한방치료로 긍정적인 효과를 얻었다. 앞으로 홍피성 건선의 한방치료에 대한 치료의 기준을 마련할 필요가 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Diabetic nephropathy is defined that renal glomeruluses are damaged by diabetes melitus and proteins that are not excreted to urine normally are exhausted, or do not excrete waste matter to urine, so-called chronic renal failure state. Clinical stage is explained divided 5. If reached 4 or 5 stage, overt proteinuria is occurred to clinical nephropathy, and hypoalbuminemia, azotemia, hypertension, and edema become serious. Concept about edema is differing comprehension about mechanism of a disease, and treatment methodaccording to Sasang Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. I treated edemtous Soyangin(少陽人) patient with Dojeokgangkitang(導赤降氣湯) who diagnosed as diabetic nephropathy and wrongly treated in Soeumin. I have got good results, so I do case study.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of TKM to Rhumatitis Arthritis after parturition and show the importance of recuperation after parturation. Methods: The patient was a 33-year-old woman who complains arthralgia, edema and sense of coldness after her third parturation. The patient was treated by Herb medicine, Acupuncture treatment, Moxa treatment and Physical Treatment. And the progress of symtoms was evaluated by cheking the change of VAS, and inspecting the DITI. Results: The Pain and edema have declined. After discharge, she got definite diagnosis as Rhumatitis Arthritis. But We already estimated it from the results of serum test. So we had treated the patience with TKM and we could explain the prognosis. We regulated the pain and edema successfully at the acute phase. And the patient could take care of herself, she didn't play her disease down as a simple symptoms of parturation. Conclusion: TKM is expected to have positive effect on Rheumatic arthritis with quick onset after parturation.

Purpose: In order to study the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Bee Venom Therapy, writhing syndrome, carrageenin induced edema, and complete adjuvant induced arthritis were experimented. Methods: 1. We used rats of writhing syndrom induced by acetic acid injection. Group I was treated with Acupuncture therapy. Group II was treated with Bee Venom thearpy. we compared with Group I, II and the control group. 2. We used rats of paw edema induced by carrageenin injection. Group I Was treated with Acupuncture therapy, Group II was treated with Bee Venom thearpy we compared with Group I, II and the control group. 3. We used rats of arthritis induced by Freud's complete adjuvant injection. Group I was treated with Acupuncture therapy, Group II was treated with Bee Venom thearpy we compared with GroupI,II and the control group. Results: 1. Analgesic effects on writhing syndrome induced by acetic acid injection showed statistical significance in Bee Venom treated group as compared with the control group. 2. The paw edema induced by carrageenin injection was decreased with statistical significance in Bee Venom treated group as compared with the control group. 3. The arthritis induced by Freud's complete adjuvant injection wasn't significant. Conclusion: Bee Venom Therapy was effective on inflammatory disease.

Henoch-$Sch{\ddot{o}}nlein$ 자반증에서 복통과 혈변이 가장 흔한 위장관계 침범 증상이며, 주요 위장관계 합병증은 발생빈도가 매우 낮다. 특히 국내 소아에서 단백소실장증이 합병된 보고 예는 아직까지 없다. 저자들은 Henoch-$Sch{\ddot{o}}nlein$ 자반증에서 경과 중에 단백소실장증이 합병된 6세 여아를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고한다.

The authors have diagnosed and treated patients with May-Thurner syndrome who presented with recurrent edema and redness in the left lower leg and foot. Although May-Thurner syndrome is a rare vascular disease, its primary symptoms manifest as edema and redness in the left lower leg and foot, leading the patients to seek foot and ankle surgery. Suspicion should be directed towards May-Thurner syndrome if an obese individual who spends prolonged periods sitting repeatedly complains of edema and redness in the left lower leg and foot area, in which a blood clot forms due to compression of the left common iliac vein within the pelvis.

In this study, carp edemavirus disease and herpesviral hematopoietic necrosis were examined in carp (Cyprinus carpio) and crucian carp (Carassius auratus) imported from China. From August 2016 to May 2017, 100 carp and 300 crucian carp were examined. There were no clinical symptoms in all the tested fish, and no internal or external parasitic infections were identified except for the detection of Argulus sp. in one leather carp. Carp edema virus disease was examined by PCR in C. carpio, but all were negative. In C. auratus, herpesviral hematopoietic necrosis was tested by PCR and 4 out of 300 were positive. The results of this study are expected to be useful as basic data for conducting risk analysis on the relevant organisms and counterpart countries or for designating new pathogens for quarantine.

We report a pediatric patient admitted with abdominal pain, diffuse lower extremity edema and watery diarrhea for two months. Laboratory findings including complete blood count, serum albumin, lipid and immunoglobulin levels were compatible with protein losing enteropathy. Colonoscopic examination revealed diffuse ulcers with smooth raised edge (like "punched out holes") in the colon and terminal ileum. Histopathological examination showed active colitis, ulcerations and inclusion bodies. Immunostaining for cytomegalovirus was positive. Despite supportive management, antiviral therapy, the clinical condition of the patient worsened and developed disseminated cytomegalovirus infection and the patient died. Protein losing enteropathy and disseminated cytomegalovirus infection a presenting of feature in steroid-naive patient with inflammatory bowel disease is very rare. Hypogammaglobulinemia associated with protein losing enteropathy in Crohn's disease may predispose the cytomegalovirus infection in previously healthy children.
