A Study on the Characteristic of 'Landscape Architecture' in Environment-Friendly Architecture (친환경 건축에서 나타나는 랜드스케이프 건축 특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze environmental-friendly design features in landscape architecture. The process of the study first started theoretical research of 'Environmental-friendly' and 'Landscape', then extracted primary conceptual elements that based on ecological background, and analyze 20 cases, from 1990 to now, based on elements that extracted. Summarizing about environment-friendly feature in landscape architecture of Form, Space, Energy Management is as following. First, In the formal aspect, Landscape architecture tend to harmonize with surrounding environment through horizontal, vertical continuity that is realized to transform artificial plate. Second, In the spatial aspect, Landscape architectural space has flexible feature. It is expression through methods blur boundary between outside and inside, lead to change and experience by time, indeterminacy of program. Third, In the energy management aspect, the introduction of effective energy system increase environmental features in space through technical application and environmental-friendly materials.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify both the characteristics of the spatial variations and structure and the logic of spatial differentiation of the renter farming in Korea. The renter farming has transformed its spatial structure from zonal to Thunen's rings-like pattern. This study also suggests that the spatial characteristics of the renter farming has been changed from the ecological and the tenantable to the economical and commercial. Although there is no single logic full explanation the order of such spatial differentiations, the logic of industrialization or neoclassical economics seems to be most effective.

  • There are many research Papers and experiments indicating that the geomagnetic field affects the people and living organism. People grow up and build up most of their character through living in dwelling space and have relax and refresh at home. Creating healthy dwelling space is being considered very important in architectural planning and design for providing comfortable living environment and improving quality of life. Therefore. it is necessary to investigate the geomagnetic field and people's response in living space. In this study the vertical component(Z value) of geomagnetic field in detached houses was measured, evaluated by related evaluation criteria, compared with interview survey.

The Spatial Characteristics and Light presented in the Works of Laurant Beaudouin (로랑 보두앵 건축의 공간 특성과 빛)

  • Purpose: This paper tried to understand the architectural philosophy of Laurant Beaudouin who is one of Neo Corbusian architects. They were in succession to Le Corbusier's principles of modern architecture, and developed his concept of modern architecture with their own creative architecture, and formed a big achievement in the contemporary architecture. As a representative Neo Corbusian architect, the design concepts and principles of Laurant Beaudouin were analyzed in relation of nature, light and space. Method: Three step study was conducted for the paper; Firstly, investigated significant his architectural characteristics as a neo corbusian architect in the point of view of plan libre, architectural promenade and light; Secondly, analyzed his architectural philosophy on light, gravity and color, Finally, deducted relation light and space through analysis 5 works of Beaudouin. Results: According to the results of the study, Laurant Beaudouin has greatly developed of Corbusier's principles and philosophy of modern architecture, and then, created his own originative architectural works by combining nature, light and space and presented architectural promenade with the change of time.

  • Algorithm-based architecture helps specifically dividing the environmental variables of a target space into individual factors to build object-oriented programming, classifying them into an individual object according to the environmental variables of each planning circumstance, and distributing each structure into small structures. In addition, each itemized matter of construction is set as a condition, and thus it is possible to respond to the space condition of various circumstances which occur in the architectural planning process. This study is intended for predicting that a sketch role in the design process can be replaced by a design method utilizing an algorithm, through the external solar radiation and the illuminance value of indoor lighting device among the environmental variables of a target space, and for seeking a way to create a design alternative and improve the design quality by using computer-based algorithm design.

A Study on Light-shelf system based on IT in Housing Space -Focus on Lighting Energy Saving- (주거공간을 위한 IT결합 광선반시스템 개발 연구 -조명에너지 저감을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the light-shelf system combined with IT to save lighting energy in resident space. According to the multiple variables that affected intensity of illumination, various experiments were designed and conducted. The main findings of this study were following: (1)the optimal level of light-shelf system was formulated which met the appropriate range of intensity of illumination in living-room; (2)although the mixed light-shelf system indicated a high performance, it could often provide discomforts to residents according to the degree of exposure; (3)artificial lights using light-shelf system combined with IT showed a higher effectiveness than those using fixed light-shelf system displayed. This study provided initial information of light-shelf system formative processes that could contribute to the lighting energy diminution. Future studies should focus more on multiple approaches regarding different types of resident space planning.

  • This paper is focused on studying a pedestrian passage that forms exterior space of the housing unit on diverse prerequisites and convenience of residential environment regards to plans for Multi-family Housing Complex. The paper explores the actual usage of a pedestrian passage installed in Multi-family Housing Complex and examine whether the nature-friendly space that includes the exterior pedestrian passage of the housing unit is being applied variously on a pedestrian passage. In order to obtain an analysis of the current status on case study unit, the study has prepared an analyzing tool for the environment in use for the exterior pedestrian passage and was able to construction problematic points by applying the obtained data. Thanks for the analysis, a comprehensive evaluation on the plans for the pedestrian passage was implemented through correlation with a green tract of land, living space and the exterior pedestrian passage installed in Multi-family Housing Complex.

A Study of Models for Marketing Strategy in the Eco-friendly Apartment Housing Using Discriminant Analysis (판별분석을 이용한 친환경 아파트의 마케팅 전략에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of the eco-friendly factors on the apartment housing price rise and to suggest the desirable way of marketing strategy for apartment housing. For the analysis, the data of apartment sites in Seoul had been collected from September 2006 to February 2007. The data consisted of 95 apartment sites in Seoul. Data were analyzed with descriptives, crosstabs, and discriminant analysis by SPSS/PC for Window. Following result was obtained. The eco-friendly apartment housing price rate in Seoul was determined by eco-friendly landscape, green space rate, house unit size, installment sale price per pyeong, floor space index, distance from subway station when it was not considered the impact of building age, construction company's brand, and autonomous districts. Findings of this research can provide valuable information for marketing strategy of housing construction company.

  • An effective design of a public space that properly functions as a resting place in city can be found through the community facility studies. This study, based on the ecological psychology, discusses the mutual relationships between human behaviors and physical and social environment. It is demonstrated that design elements, such as chairs, tables, stairs, a flower bed, a stair-shaped exterior wall, a pond and others play important roles in providing environment for different human behaviors in public space. These environmental design elements also increase a variety of behavior for users.

  • Interior material covering as the final process of house-building, critically influences not only aesthetic character but also air quality of indoor space. Wall covering today, however, caused a serious social problem because of chemicals contained in the industrial wallpaper and artificial glue. In this context, Korean traditional wall covering of Han-ji can be an alternative model due to it's ecological character. Recently 'Hanok' attracts public attention, since society and people become to appreciate the unique beauty and value of our traditional culture. The values include natural beauty, emotional character, and environment-friendliness. Recognizing this, this paper intended to scrutinize the operating process of Han-ji as an interior finish material. Historical research method was employed, tracing the related articles in old literature and interviewing with the witness of the experienced expert. Thereby, healthier and unique aesthetic indoor environment can be expected to be sustainable along with the rich cultural life of ancestors.
