녹색소비 실천교육이 유아의 녹색소비 인식 및 행동에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Green Consumption Practice Program for young children)

  • Green consumption refers to a variety of activities including use and purchase of eco-friendly products and services and disposing of products in an eco-friendly manner. The goal of this research was to evaluate the effects of a green consumption education and awareness program offered to young children in a university-sponsored daycare. The education and awareness program was designed to improve young children's knowledge and behaviors toward the environment through green consumption education. The program was presented to 22 5-year old children in 15-20 minutes sessions, once a week for 4 weeks. Evaluation of the program was carried out through individual interviews with the children and their mothers. Upon the completion of the green consumption education program, there were noticeable changes in children's knowledge and behavior toward the environment. Mothers of participating children reported that children's environmental behaviors changed significantly, displaying a stronger green consumption attitude. This study suggests that environmental educational program during early childhood educational is an effective way of improving children's perceptions of environmental and conservation practices.

염색폐수 처리공정의 온실가스 배출량 산정 및 환경성 평가 (Estimation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Environmental Assessment of Dye Wastewater Treatment Process)

  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from dye wastewater treatment processes were estimated by analysing their mass and energy balances, which were then used as baseline information for environmental assessment. The total GHG emissions from dye wastewater treatment plants were divided into direct emissions from the treatment processes and indirect ones from electricity usage. The amounts of $CO_2$, $CH_4$ and $N_2O$ emissions were calculated according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Clime Change (IPCC) guideline for the GHG target management system. For 3 years between 2011 and 2013, direct and indirect emissions were on average 8,742.7 and 7,892.0 Ton.$CO_2eq/year$, respectively, with the former exhibiting 52.6 %. Also, compared to 2012, in 2013, the eco-efficiency indicator by the GHG emissions was found to be more than 1, suggesting that environmental quality was effectively improved.

  • Recently, as the alternatives to preserve environment such as effective usage of wastes or unusable resources are drawing attentions, researches and measures for the two tasks, which are reuse of waste wood and development of eco-friendly materials, are being examined and established in various fields. However, they are still insufficient. Therefore, in this study, for the efficient application of waste woods and eco-friendly effects, mortar was produced using sawdust as the waste wood and mineral material cement for combination, in order to produce inorganic boards using waste woods, which were made when sawing. This study attempted to suggest a basic material about the physical properties of mortar, which used waste woods, after examining the features of wood mixture rate, water-cement rate, congelation according to the mixture rate of the setting accelerator, specific gravity, compression intensity, and bending intensity as experiment factors.

친환경 감열기록지 생산을 위한 순환제지자원의 탈묵 특성 연구 (Studies on Deinking Properties of Recovered Paper for Manufacturing Eco-friendly Thermal Recording Paper)

  • Demands of thermal recording paper have been increased significantly by increase in usage of invoice, fax, and label. Thermal recording paper was mainly made based on virgin fiber. It is necessary to find a suitable alternative to virgin fiber in terms of environment protectional resources conservation. In this paper, deinking properties of different recovered papers were analyzed in order to use the recovered paper as raw material of thermal recording paper. Recovered paper were ONP, OMG and white ledger. Flotation reject of OMG was high because inorganic pigments in coating layer could be removed by upstream of froth. Brightness of white ledger and OMG were much higher than that of ONP. Therefore, properties of pulp made from the recovered paper could be enhanced with increase in blending ratio of white ledger and OMG. However, blending ratio of OMG caused the increase of flotation reject. Consequently, the optimum blending ratio of ONP, OMG, and white ledger was 3:3:3 for eco-friendly thermal recording paper. Under the condition, brightness was about 70% and ERIC was below 300 ppm.

Analysis to Select Filter Media and The Treatment Effect of Non-point Pollution Source in Road Runoff

  • This study selected and analyzed filter media that can be applied in non-point pollution reduction devices aimed at processing the source of pollution on site for road runoff that increases rapidly in rainfall-runoff in order to improve the water quality of urban areas. First, the factors that affect the quality of runoff caused by sources of non-point pollution include physical and social factors such as the usage of land around the area of water collection, type of pavement and movement of cars and people, as well as rainfall characteristics such as frequency, intensity, amount and duration of rainfall. Second, the purification tests of the filter media were processed for pH, BOD, COD and T-P, and the filter media showed to have initial purification effect at that items. However, the filter media showed to be very effective for the processing of SS, T-N, Zn and Cd from the beginning to the end. Third, for filter media, zeolite and vermiculite showed to be effective for processing SS, T-N, Zn and CD constantly, and composite filter media including zeolite showed to have strong processing effects. The authors conclude that this study can be applied to technical areas and policies aimed at reducing non-point pollution in urban areas and can also contribute to allowing eco-friendly management of rainfall as well as improvement of water quality.

Effect of Cork Extract on the Mechanical Property of Thermoplastic Polyurethane

  • Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is a material whose mechanical properties change according to the phase separation of its unique internal microstructure and is therefore used in various industries. Use of TPU as composites helps in improving the desirable characteristics and properties in accordance with usage. Eco-friendly fillers one of the fillers are on the rise and those are mostly used for reinforcing role. Suberin, which can be extracted from cork, is the main component of cork. It is known to serve high damping property of elastomer composite. The original chemical structure of Suberin is an aliphatic polyester aggregate. In this research, Suberin is obtained after depolymerization into an oligomer having 2 or 3 ester bonds through alkaline hydrolysis. The extracted suberin was added to the matrix which is thermoplastic polyurethane as an eco-friendly filler for improving vibration damping property. As a result, when 10 wt% of suberin was added into thermoplastic polyurethane the existing trade-off relationship was overcome. And it is attained the elastic modulus and damping factor at room temperature improving 92 and 59%, respectively, compared to the original matrix. Those results are from the interaction between the microstructure of TPU and suberin.

재생 PET 섬유가 혼입된 황토 콘크리트의 크리프 거동과 균열저항성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Creep Behavior and Crack Resistance of Hwang-toh Concrete Mixed with Recycled-PET Fiber)

  • 환경문제에 대한 높은 관심으로 친환경 콘크리트의 개발을 위해 많은 연구가 수행되어지고 있으며, 특히 콘크리트 배합시 시멘트 사용량을 줄이기 위한 노력이 계속되고 있다. 시멘트 사용량을 줄이기 위한 방법으로는 포졸란 반응재료들이 혼화재로 사용되고 있다. 우리나라 전역에 널리 매장되어 있는 황토는 친환경 재료로서, 포졸란 반응을 하는 활성황토는 콘크리트의 혼화재로 활용성이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 황토와 재생 PET 섬유가 콘크리트의 건조수축에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 수행되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 황토와 재생 PET 섬유를 혼입한 콘크리트 거동 특성을 분석하기 위하여 건조수축 시험을 통해 황토와 재생 PET 섬유를 혼입한 콘크리트의 재료특성을 평가하였다. 실험결과, 외부구속균열 및 자유수축변형 실험을 통하여 혼화재로서 황토가 콘크리트의 건조수축을 줄이는 효과가 있음을 확인하였으며, 재생 PET 섬유는 건조수축에 의한 외부구속균열을 제어하는 효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

시흥시 주요 저수지의 환경친화적 공간 계획 (Environmental Friendly Space Planning for Reservoirs in Siheung City)

  • This report designs a landscape plan of six reservoirs in Sihung city which has possibilities both in development and in destruction. The report suggests how to create a leisure space in harmony with the surroundings in Sihung city. Building a leisure town will create the local residents' demand in recreational activities and improve the amenities. Therefore this study analyzes eco-friendliness of the land, conditions of fauna and flora, the quality of water and the usage figures of the six reservoirs so as to develop those six reservoirs more eco-friendly. Based on environmentalism, the leisure spot development plan attribute the ultimate importance to local residents' pleasant leisure time and recreations. With this master plan, the report suggests expanding the city's green space, since the city has under 50% out of the optimal percentage of green space per person. In addition, the report intends to plan each six reservoirs developed separately but organically connected at the same time that those six can put together and become a Sihung Green Way which makes the city's leisure space a belt. Apportioning the six reservoirs development levels in order to balance the development, accumulating and arranging buildings and facilities in available spaces according to the governing law, and creating resting area, promenade and parking lot to make an eco-city. Also the report suggests conserving environment and regulating contamination such as ban on fishing to move forward sustainable development. Since the adventives predominate the site, introducing indigenous plants should be necessary soon.

친환경 콘크리트 개발을 위한 고분자 화합물의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of High Molecular Compound for Development of Eco-friendly Concrete)

  • 본 연구는 수용성 폴리머의 일종인 폴리비닐아세테이트(Polyvinyl Acetate, 이하 PVAc)를 사용한 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르와 콘크리트의 특성에 관한 평가를 통하여 친환경 콘크리트 개발을 위한 기초자료를 획득하는 것이다. 이를 위해 PVAc를 혼입하지 않은 시멘트 모르타르 및 콘크리트와 결합재 대비 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%의 PVAc를 각각 혼입한 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르 및 콘크리트와의 비교분석을 통한 물리적 특성을 평가하였으며, 폴리머 혼입에 따라 늘어나는 공기량을 제어하기 위해 소포제를 첨가하여 PVAc 콘크리트의 특성을 평가하였다. 그 결과 PVAc가 혼입된 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르의 경우 압축강도는 낮아지나 휨강도와 건조수축의 성능이 향상되는 것으로 나타났으며, 콘크리트의 경우 혼입율이 6%일 때가 압축강도, 인장강도, 휨강도 및 탄성계수가 높아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

탄소에어로젤 복합전극의 전기용량적 탈이온 공정 특성 (Characteristics of Capacitive Deionization Process using Carbon Aerogel Composite Electrodes)

  • 전기화학적으로 이온을 흡착시켜 이온을 제거하는 capacitive deionization(CDI)공정용 전극으로 탄소에어로젤에 실리카젤이 첨가된 다공성 탄소에어로젤 복합전극을 사용하여 1,000ppm NaCl수용액에서 탈염 특성에 대한 충전과 방전시 시간에 따른 전류 변화, CDI효율을 조사하였다. Paste rolling법으로 제조된 $10\times10cm^2$다공성 탄소에어로젤 복합전극은 촉매 분야에서 활용되고 있는 다공성 지지체인 실리카젤을 첨가함으로써 CDI 반응진행에 대한 전극활물질 탈락이 없이 전극의 성형성이 크게 향상되었고, 친수성과 전극의 기계적 강도 증가 및 CDI 효율을 증가시킬 수 있었다. 이러한 45개의 전극을 하나의 묶음으로 네 개의 단을 직렬연결 하여, CDI 시스템을 구성하였고 충전 시에는 1.2V, 방전 시에는 0.001V를 각각 10분간 인가하여 실험한 결과 $99\%$ 이상의 CDI 효율을 달성하였다.
