  • The rapid progress of wireless LAN technology has prompted new security problems and countermeasures against them. Since the mobility of users and wireless access to the network exasperate potential security threat such as eavesdropping and illegal access, security services for wireless LAN should be provided. In this paper, we define the security model, WEP and AES encrypt/decrypt technologies which are proposed in the IEEE802.11 standard and the IEEE802.11eS draft and propose the Key distribution protocol for the wireless LAN.

  • The improvements of embedded processors make future technologies including wireless sensor network and internet of things feasible. These applications firstly gather information from target field through wireless network. However, this networking process is highly vulnerable to malicious attacks including eavesdropping and forgery. In order to ensure secure and robust networking, information should be kept in secret with cryptography. Well known approach is public key cryptography and this algorithm consists of finite field arithmetic. There are many works considering high speed finite field arithmetic. One of the famous approach is Montgomery multiplication. In this study, we investigated Montgomery multiplication for public key cryptography on embedded microprocessors. This paper includes helpful information on Montgomery multiplication implementation methods and techniques for various target devices including 8-bit and 16-bit microprocessors. Further, we expect that the results reported in this paper will become part of a reference book for advanced Montgomery multiplication methods for future researchers.

  • With the rapidity of the development on electronic technology, various mobile devices are produced to make human life more convenient. The user is always in constant search of middle with ease of deployment. Therefore, the development of infrastructure and application with ubiquitous nature gets a growing keen interest. Recently, the number of pervasive network services is expanding into ubiquitous computing environment. To get desired services, user presents personal details about this identity, location and private information. The information transmitted and the services provided in pervasive computing environments (PCEs) are exposed to eavesdropping and various attacks. Therefore, the need to protect this environment from illegal accesses has become extremely urgent. In this paper, we propose an anonymous authentication and access control scheme to secure the interaction between mobile users and services in PCEs. The proposed scheme integrates a biometric authentication in PKI model. The proposed authentication aims to secure access remote in PCE for guaranteeing reliability and availability. Our authentication concept can offer pervasive network service users convenience and security.

  • There is an advantage that RFID system is better than previous bar code system in storage ability and noncontact property. But, everyone can easily receive the transmitting information by using RF signal. So, there is a problem that system security and personal privacy are threatened. In this paper, I propose RFID system that is secure against attacks like eavesdropping, replay, spoofing and location tracking and can efficiently provide mutual authentication services between reader and tag. The proposed RFID system can be used in various sections of ubiquitous computing environment.

  • This paper is to develop a security module for electronic approval systems. Electronic documents are created, transmitted and saved in the company's intranet computer network. Transmitting electronic documents, however, brings us a security problem. Communications among various computer systems are exposed to many security threats. Those threats are eavesdropping, repudiation, replay back etc. The main purpose of this paper is to develop a module which provides the security of electronic documents while they are passed from one place to another This paper applies Multi-Level security to the electronic approval system that guarantees security of electronic documents from many threats. Multi-Level security controls the access to the documents by granting security level to subject users and object electronic documents. To prevent possible replay back attacks, this paper also uses one time password to the system. The security module is composed of client program and server one. The module was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. The code uses Richard Bondi's WCCO(Wiley CryptoAPI COM Objects) library functions which enables Visual Basic to access Microsoft CryptoAPI.

  • In this paper, we investigate physical layer security for multiple decode-and-forward (DF) relaying underlay cognitive radio networks (CRNs) with fixed transmit power at the secondary network against passive eavesdropping attacks. We propose a simple relay selection scheme to improve wireless transmission security based on the instantaneous channel information of all legitimate users and the statistical information about the eavesdropper channels. The closed-form expressions of the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity and the secrecy outage probability (SOP) are derived over independent and non-identically distributed Rayleigh fading environments. Furthermore, we conduct the asymptotic analysis to evaluate the secrecy diversity order performance and prove that full diversity is achieved by using the proposed relay selection. Finally, numerical results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis and depict that primary interference constrain has a significant impact on the secure performance and a proper transmit power for the second transmitters is preferred to be energy-efficient and improve the secure performance.

  • Recently, Due to the rapid development of the internet and IT technology, users can conveniently use various services provided by the server anytime and anywhere. However, these technologies are exposed to various security threat such as tampering, eavesdropping, and exposing of user's identity and location information. In 2016, Nikooghadam et al. proposed a lightweight authentication and key agreement protocol preserving user anonymity. This paper overcomes the vulnerability of Nikooghadam's authentication protocol proposed recently. This paper suggests an enhanced remote user authentication protocol that protects user's password and provides perfect forward secrecy.

  • In recent high-speed data moderns for use over PSTN or leased line, the data compression technique based on CCITT V.42bis Recommendation is of popular use along sith CCITT V.42 error control function. A remaining concern to advanced-application users is the protection against unintended eavesdropping. This paper proposes the architectural model on how the security mechanism should be adopted into the above mentioned error-correction/data compression moderns. Also, the functional definitions and the operational procedures are described in detail for possible implementation.

  • We proposed the secure and efficient passive RFID protocol which is based on one-way hash based low-cost authentication protocol (OHLCAP). The paper introduces OHLCAP and the vulnerabilities of OHLCAP and suggests security solutions by analyzing them. Afterwards, The paper presents the proposed protocol and demonstrates computational performance and security of the protocol. This protocol not only has the resistances against eavesdropping attack, impersonation attack, desynchronization attack, and replay attack but also provides untraceability and forward secrecy.
