신품종(新品種)을 포함한 한국산(韓國産) Acanthopanax속(屬)의 분류(分類)(I) (A New Forma of Acanthopanax Species(I))

  • 1. The Korean Acanthopanax genus includes 12 kinds consisting of 9 species and 3 forma. 2. The Korean Oga-pi which is on market sale has been used as bark for the medicinal purpose, and Oga-pi shall use Radicis Cortex. That is why it is basic rule that herbalogy shall use Radicis Cortex. 3. The origin of Oga-pi on sale is Acanthopanax sessiliflorum forma chungbunensis C.S. Yook. 4. $C_{HUNG}\;and\;N_AKAI'S}$ report on A. koreanum told us that there are brown hair on the mid-leaf junction, but in addition to it, our investigation was resulted in the fact that there are thorn along mid-rib sometimes. 5. 2 kinds of new forma are similar to A. sessiliflorum, but are different in the view-point of chemotaxonomy, compared with A. sessiliflorum. In its morphology, we can find some difference between 2 kinds of new forma and A. sessiliflorum. Our effort of examination on documents tell us that the all plants growing in the central part of our country is A. sessiliflorum forma chungbunensis C.S. Yook. The one which has thorn on both side among the plants collected in Mt. Dukyu, is called A. sessiliflorum forma nambunensis C.S. Yook. 6. A. sessiliflorum is growing in the southern part in Korea, and most Chungbu Oga-pi A. sessiliflorum forma chungbunensis in the central part of our country. For the convenience of our study, the key of Korean Acanthopanax plant is classified into, I-IV, as shown on the following items: I. No hair on both side of leaf A. Flower stalk is longer than petiole, and there are thorn under the petiole (5-7 stigma).${\cdots}A.\;sieboldianum$. B. Flower stalk is longer than petiole, or same length. The serration lie down, and the stem has short thorn (stigma is divided into 3 part).${\cdots\;\cdots}A.\;seoulense$ II. There are a lot of thorn or hair on back of leaf. A. A lot of thorn and hair on the vein of leaf back, and a number of small thorn on petiole.${\cdots}A.\;chiisanensis$. B. There are thorn on the vein of leaf back.${\cdots\;\cdots}A.\;sessiliflorum\;forma\;chungbunensis.$ III. There are hairs on both side of leaf. A. 북서태평양에서 열대 저기압 발생빈도의 십년간 변동 특성 (Interdecadal Variation of Tropical Cyclone Genesis Frequency over the Western North Pacific)

  • 본 연구에서는 북서태평양상의 기후학적 평균 열대 저기압 발생 자료를 이용하여 이 해역의 북서구역과 남동구역에서의 열대 저기압 발생빈도의 시간변화에서 십년간 변동성을 보이고 반대 위상으로 존재함을 밝혔다. 열대 저기압 발생빈도는 북서구역에서 1980년대 중반 이후부터 최근까지(1986-2005) 증가하는 반면에, 남동구역에서 1951년부터 1970년대 초반(1951-1970)까지 높게 나타났다. 1986-2005년과 1951-1970년 사이의 차이점을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. i) 연직바람시어와 해수면 온도의 경우, 1986-2005년 동안에는 북서구역에서, 1951-1970년의 기간에는 남동구역에서 음의 연직시어와 양의 해수면 온도 아노말리를 나타내고 있었다. ii) 열대 저기압 이동빈도를 분석해 본 결과, 북서구역에서 발생한 열대 저기압들 중에서 1986~2005년 동안에는 주로 남중국해에 영향을 주는 빈도가 높았던 반면, 1951-1970년 동안에는 필리핀 동쪽 해상으로부터 동중국해를 지나 한국 및 일본을 통과하는 빈도가 높았다. 남동구역에서 발생한 열대 저기압들의 경우에 대략 $150^{\circ}E$를 기준으로 이동빈도의 공간분포가 동서로 나눠질 수 있다. 1951-1970년 동안의 열대 저기압들은 150oE의 서쪽에서, 1986-2005년 동안의 열대 저기압들은 $150^{\circ}E$의 동쪽에서 주로 이동하는 특성을 보였다. 특히, 1951-1970년 동안에 발생한 열대 저기압들은 필리핀의 동쪽 해상으로부터 남중국해 및 남중국 방향으로 이동하는 빈도가 높았다. iii) 두 기간 사이에 열대 저기압 이동빈도의 이러한 차이는 500 hPa 아노말리 기압패턴에 그 원인이 있다. 특히 1951-1970년 동안에는 동아시아 대륙에 저기압성 순환의 아노말리가 형성되어 필리핀 동쪽해상으로부터 동아시아 해안을 따라 남풍 아노말리가 강화되었다. 이 남풍 아노말리는 열대 저기압이 필리핀 동쪽해상으로부터 동아시아 해안을 따라 이동하기 쉽게 하는 지향류의 역할을 하였다.

북태평양 서부에서 발생하는 강풍의 진로에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Track of Typhoon in the Northwest Pacific Ocean)

  • By use of the recent tropical cyclones' data in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, the occurrence frequency and region of typhoon as well as the features of the monthly mean track were analyzed. As the result of this study, (1) mean occurrence frequency of typhoon per year is 27.5, and 68% of total typhoons were formed in July to October and shown the highest frequency in August. (2) The ave-rage duration of typhoons is 8.5 days, and super typhoon which maximum sustained surface wind speeds is more than 130 knots occurs most frequently in October and November. (3) The highest frequency ap-pears around the Caroline, Mariana and Marshall Islands, and in wintertime, typhoon occurs in lower lati-tude comparing with those in summertime. (4) The typhoon track depends upon the distribution of pres-sure system and steering current in neighbouring areas. The mean track of typhoon can be classified into three types such as westward-moving type, northward-moving type and abnormally moving type. The west-ward-moving typhoons make landfall on the southern China by way of the South China Sea in June and July, on mid-part of China in August and September, and on Indo-china Peninsula in October and Novem-ber. The northward-moving typhoons approximately move on north~northwestward track to $20~30^{\circ}N$ from the occurrence region, then recurve to the East Sea through Korean Peninsula and Kyushu Island in June and July, to the Noth Pacific Ocean along the Japanese Islands in August and September and to the North Pacific Ocean through the seas far south off the Japan in October and November.

Regime Shift of the Early 1980s in the Characteristics of the Tropical Cyclone Affecting Korea

  • By performing a statistical change-point analysis of activities of the tropical cyclones (TCs) that have affected Korea (K-TCs), it was found that there was a significant change between 1983 and 1984. During the period of 1984-2004 (P2), more TCs migrated toward the west, recurved in the southwest, and affected Korea, compared to the period of 1965-1983 (P1). These changes for P2 were related to the southwestward expansion of the subtropical western North Pacific high (SWNPH) and simultaneously elongation of its elliptical shape toward Korea. Because of these changes, the central pressure and lifetime of K-TC during P2 were deeper and longer, respectively, than figures for P1. This stronger K-TC intensity for P2 was related to the more southwestward genesis due to the southwestward expansion of the SWNPH. The weaker vertical wind shear environment during P2 was more favorable for K-TC to maintain a strong intensity in the mid-latitudes of East Asia.

  • During Mid October of 2005 a mass mortality of the corals occurred surrounding Con Dao Islands (South Vietnam) where is the recognized as one of the most famous marine parks of Vietnam. Results from the field survey in October 2005 showed that the mass mortality of corals and benthos focused only on the North-West of the islands whereas there was almost no death recorded in the South - East parts. Based on field data it was assumed that an overlap between high water temperature ($>30^{\circ}C$) and low salinity (<25%o) during short term was the impact causing the situation. In this paper, we try to explain this phenomenon based on the hydrographical view together with analyzing ocean colour images. A coral bleaching warning system also is proposed for Condao site.

Distribution and Ecological Characteristics of Native Iris Odesanensis in Mt. Naeyon

  • Iris odesanensis Y.N. Lee is one kind of species among 54 endangered plant species designated by the Ministry of Environment in Korea. It is very rare native plant throughout the country. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the native Iris odesanensis in Mt. Naeyon for their distribution and ecological characteristics. They were mostly distributed mid-slope of the mountain from 443m to 498m altitude. They were located lower part of valley and provided enough humid condition. They had proper light and humidity conditions as they faced south south west, south south east, and south. They were also located at the places deciduous woody plants were distributed for proper light conditions for spring blooming. Iris flowered to use light at the period before the trees thickly covered with foliage. However this unfavorable light condition caused low percentage as 7.04% of blooming individuals in this study. In herbaceous, Vioia chaerophylloides(Regel) W. Hocker, Carex siderosticta Hance, Erythronium japonicum Decne., Oxalis obtriangulata Max., Hepatica asiatica Nakai, Lilium tsingtauense Gilg et cetera were appeared well. We propose that proper pruning of upper branches of the deciduous trees is needed for suitable light condition of management of native sites.

Modification of Sea Water Temperature by Wind Driven Current in the Mountainous Coastal Sea

  • Numerical simulation on marine wind and sea surface elevation was carried out using both three-dimensional hydrostatic and non-hydrostatic models and a simple oceanic model from 0900 LST, August 13 to 0900 LST, August 15, 1995. As daytime easterly meso-scale sea-breeze from the eastern sea penetrates Kangnung city in the center part as basin and goes up along the slope of Mt. Taegullyang in the west, it confronts synoptic-scale westerly wind blowing over the top of the mountain at the mid of the eastern slope and then the resultant wind produces an upper level westerly return flow toward the East Sea. In a narrow band of weak surface wind within 10km of the coastal sea, wind stress is generally small, less than l${\times}$10E-2 Pa and it reaches 2 ${\times}$ 10E-2 Pa to the 35 km. Positive wind stress curl of 15 $\times$ 10E-5Pa $m^{-1}$ still exists in the same band and corresponds to the ascent of 70 em from the sea level. This is due to the generation of northerly wind driven current with a speed of 11 m $S^{-1}$ along the coast under the influence of south-easterly wind and makes an intrusion of warm waters from the southern sea into the northern coast, such as the East Korea Warm Current. On the other hand, even if nighttime downslope windstorm of 14m/s associated with both mountain wind and land-breeze produces the development of internal gravity waves with a hydraulic jump motion of air near the coastal inland surface, the surface wind in the coastal sea is relatively moderate south-westerly wind, resulting in moderate wind stress. Negative wind stress curl in the coast causes the subsidence of the sea surface of 15 em along the coast and south-westerly coastal surface wind drives alongshore south-easterly wind driven current, opposite to the daytime one. Then, it causes the intrusion of cold waters like the North Korea Cold Current in the northern coastal sea into the narrow band of the southern coastal sea. However, the band of positive wind stress curl at the distance of 30km away from the coast toward further offshore area can also cause the uprising of sea waters and the intrusion of warm waters from the southern sea toward the northern sea (northerly wind driven current), resulting in a counter-clockwise wind driven current. These clockwise and counter-clockwise currents much induce the formation of low clouds containing fog and drizzle in the coastal region.

  • From the mid-1980s '91s, remarkable Ethnicism and Primitivism in the Europe fashion trend could be represented as an exotic taste longing for secenery and emotion of non-europe area in the West. These phenomenon could be found out in connection with Acculturation, which means when two different cultures or more were contacted they were identified or merged in process of diffusion and change of them. This point of view was the culture anthropologic one that make a comparison and analysis of sameness and difference between cultures. The purpose of this study was to illuminate exotic taste represented in costume in the cluture-anthroplogic aspect, to compare with beauty of costume that each culture of costume and the meaning of the times due to those differences. an aspect of the exotic taste and character in the western costume that was inspected by dividing into 'Primitivism', 'Oriental element' and 'the element of a national costume in the East European bloc ' were as follows; First, Primitivism had something in common with what was pursued in the trend of Modern Art, through the late 19th century to the early 20th century. In fashion fettered by technique, the creation expressed in a free was and showed simple beauty of costume. At the same time, pure emotion expression, creative power and witty strong expression give the cognition of transcendency breaking the routine and the cognition of complexity of an included conception. Those are garments showing not only the primitive thought and mysticism but a fancy, an abstraction, and a life. Colors and accessaries which described nature and matched simple costume composition to the expression of various material or patterns transmitted the image of the primitive strongly. Second, "Drental element" which had an effect on western custome historically in a long time had outstanding luxurios adornmental beauty of custome. Extending from the Arab stated India, China, Korea, Japan, each national costume with a gay national culture became one of motif. Various ornamental factors expressed on Trapez Line, Sime Line and Drape, or Raied style, which did not restrict the body. Those were not only functional Easy Look, but were also satisfying human's ornamental desire. Third, national factors in the East European bloc are theme that begins to be embossed in the late 80's. In view of a political change and cultural situation with a double character of Europe and Orient, it was estimated that national factors have great importance in fashion. Item concerned with new concern appeared at Autumn & Winter collection. It shows elegant and graceful beauty of costume by adding a fur or jewel to simple form. These national factors in the East European bloc are simple form, but shows the difference in more cubic formation than form expressed in Primitivism or Oriental factors Exotic taste appeared form 80's to 91's, is thought to create an forgotten romantic emotion and traditional fashion

한국의 추계한발의 종관기후학적 특성 (Synoptic Climatological Characteristics of Autumn Droughts in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 한국에 있어서 추계한발의 출현빈도 분포특성과 한발시 지상기압장 및 500hPa면의 종관기후학적 특성을 평년과 비교 분석한 연구이다. 한국의 추계 한발의 출현빈도 분포는 월별 지역적 강수변동률의 분포에 따라서 9월은 한반도의 남서부 및 중서부가 높고 동안이 낮아서 서고동저유형, 10월은 한발 출현빈도의 지역차가 작은 균등분포 유형을 나타내며, 11월은 내륙지방은 낮고 해안지방이 높아서, 월별로 상이하다. 지상 및 500hPa면의 기압 및 고도편차 분포에서 조추의 한발시 한반도 주변은 음의 편차역에 속하며, 500hPa면에 있어서 양의 편차역은 오호츠크해를 중심으로 해서 남동쪽으로 북태평양을 종단하여 발달함으로 이 지역에서의 저지고기압 및 기압능의 출현빈도가 높음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 이동성 고기압 등 한발을 유발시키는 기압계가 한반도 주변에서 정체될 때 한발이 발생한다. 만추의 한발시에는 지상 및 500hPa면에 있어서 기압 및 고도분포가 한반도를 기준으로 서고동저형을 나타내어 한반도 주변은 대상풍의 풍속이 강하다. 따라서 한국에 있어서의 조추와 만추 한발시의 메커니즘이 상이함을 나타낸다.

대구국제공항 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 (Study of Revitalizing of Daegu International Airport)

  • 지속적인 고속도로망 확충과 고속철도 개통 등에 따라fr개선 항공수요가 계속 감소하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 각 공항과 지방자치단체에서는 지방공항을 살리기 위한 대책 마련에 심혈을 기울이고 있다. 이런 측면에서 본 연구는 고속철도의 등장으로 인한 대구국제공항의 현황을 분석하구 공항의 활성화를 위한 방안을 도출하고 대구공항개발에 대한 장 중단기간의 역할에 대한 로드맵을 제시하여 대구국제공항의 활성화를 통한 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있는 실질적인 이행방안을 제시하였다. 이런 관점에서, 대구시에 대구국제공항의 활성화를 위한 전담기구를 조직하여 일관적인 수요진작을 위한 지역 여행사지원, 대구국제공항을 주요항공 기지로 사용할 항공사의 지원, 일본의 지방도시에서 새롭게 개장하고 있는 공항에 대한 우선적 노선 개설, 중화권으로의 노선개설 및 확대 등을 적극적으로 추진할 것을 제안하였다. 건설교통부 차원에서는 인천국제공항의 허브화 지원만을 주요공항정책의 수단으로 삼고 있으나, 인천국제공항은 국가를 대표하는 공항으로 하되 수요의 흡수는 광역 수도권으로 하고, 향후 서해안권과 영남권의 거점 공항을 육성 할 필요가 있다. 국내 지방공항의 항공수요는지역인근의 자체 기종점 수요를 기반으로 하고 있어서 다거점 (1강 2중과 제주)으로 육성 할 필요가 있다는 견해를 제시하였다.
