초등과학교육에서 지구시스템 인식강화를 위한 시스템사고 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용효과 (The Development and Applying Effects of Systems Thinking Teaching Program for Improving Recognition of the Earth Systems in Elementary Science Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the applying possibility of the Earth Systems Education(ESE) in elementary school science education through the improving of students' recognition with the earth systematic nature by systems thinking education - for this was the recognizing as earth systematic nature was the key element of ESE, and the systems thinking skill is accredited very effective tool for the understanding with earth systematic nature. For this, the systems thinking's teaching-learning programs were developed and applied to the 6th students (21s) for 10hours' classes. The results of this study are as follows; In most of the 6th students didn't recognize with earth systematic nature from a lack of understanding of the vapor being in every nature environments. In systems teaching-learning classes, most of students participated positively in learning activities and achieved the aim of a lesson. In the testing results for students' recognition improving to earth systematic nature after the systems thinking education, about 24% students were showed the improving results of the recognition with earth systematic nature. Consequently, It is suggested that just as the achieving of the points of ESE in elementary school science education, the approaching method of the systems thinking education is worth attempting to applying of the ESE.

지역규모 장거리 대기오염 이동물질의 환경영향평가를 위한 종관기상 조건의 분류 (Classification of Synoptic Meteorological Patterns for the Environmental Assessment of Regional-scale Long Range Transboundary Air Pollutants)

  • In order to conduct the environmental assessment of long range transboundary air pollutants over East Asia, the moving pathways of air pollutants are of great importance, which are depending upon the meteorological weather patterns. Therefore regional scale modeling study requires the identified geopotential height distribution patterns to deal with behaviors of long range transport air pollutants for the effective long term atmospheric environmental assessment. In this study the synoptic meteorological classification using cluster analysis technique over Northeast Asia, and its previous applications of the regional scale air pollutant modeling studies were reviewed and summarized in detail. Other synoptic meteorological characteristics over Korean peninsula are also discussed.

창의·인성교육 기반 지구과학 수업모형 제안 (A Suggesting of the Earth Science Lesson Model Based on the Creativity·Character Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the earth science lesson model based on the creativity character education. To conduct this study, the curriculum revision in 2009 was analyzed by the causal mapping method. One after another, the creativity character education and earth system education were analyzed by the same method. Through as mentioned above, the key words which have relating concepts each other were picked out. Lastly, the key words were connected and compounded for the earth science lesson model based on the creativity character education. The model indicates that the earth science lesson based on the creativity character education requires the reconstructs of the processing and contents of the lesson. In other words, the teaching/learning must be progressed as corresponding between scientific facts and mental recognition, scientific concepts and compounding thinking skill, scientific laws and reconstructing thinking skill. In contents were reconstructed as relating to knowledge, creativity, characters and guidance counseling. The results of this study suggested the earth science lesson model based on the creativity character education needs developing and applying teaching/learning materials and managing discussing and cooperative learning.

  • This paper attempts to study the evolution of the Solar System including the earth through various existing hypotheses and the occurrence of earthquakes on the earth. From the analysis of the various theories it can be inferred that the Mystery regarding evolution of Solar System is a complex problem which requires continuos research. The occurrence of the earthquake is also affected by the earth's rotation, which produces Centrifugal Force, which together with convection current causes plate displacement resulting in earthquakes. The extent of displacement varies with the size and density of the plates.

지구과학 수업에서 진단 및 형성평가 활용을 위한 스마트 맞춤 평가(SPA) 시스템의 개발 및 효과 (Development and Effects of Smart Personalized Assessment(SPA) System for Using of Diagnostic and Formative Assessment in Earth Science Classes)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop SPA system using diagnostic and formative assessment in earth science classes in order to discuss its effect on learning achievement and self-directed learning attitude. For this purpose, we developed total management system, app for teachers, and app for students. This research was practiced to 76 students in 5th grade. The results are as follows. Firstly, the group taking a class used by app for diagnostic and formative assessment had an effect of improving learning achievement. However, as for learning achievement long term endurance test, the group taking a class using app for diagnostic and formative assessment had no effect. Secondly, the group taking a class using apps for diagnostic and formative assessment had an effect of improving learners' self-directed learning attitude. As for self-directed long-term endurance test, the group taking a class using app for diagnostic and formative assessment had an effect. In conclusion, I hope that this SPA system might apply to the science classes as it is a system that will satisfy the needs of both teachers and students, giving much needed feedback to students.

Microwave Radiometer for Space Science and DREAM Mission of STSAT-2

  • The microwave instruments are used many areas of the space remote sensing and space science applications. The imaging radar of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is well known microwave radar sensor for earth surface and ocean research. Unlike radar, microwave radiometer is passive instrument and it measures the emission energy of target, i.e. brightness temperature BT, from earth surface and atmosphere. From measured BT, the geophysical data like cloud liquid water, water vapor, sea surface temperature, surface permittivity can be retrieved. In this paper, the radiometer characteristics, system configuration and principle of BT measurement are described. Also the radiometer instruments TRMM, GPM, SMOS for earth climate, and ocean salinity research are introduce. As first korean microwave payload on STSAT-2, the DREAM (Dual-channels Radiometer for Earth and Atmosphere Monitoring) is described the mission, system configuration and operation plan for life time of two years. The main issues of DREAM unlike other spaceborne radiometers, will be addressed. The calibration is the one of main issues of DREAM mission and how it contribute on the space borne radiometer. In conclusion, the radiometer instrument to space science application will be considered.

과학 글쓰기를 통한 고등학생의 지구 시스템에 대한 이해와 시스템 사고의 분석 (An Analysis of High School Students' Systems Thinking and Understanding of the Earth Systems through their Science Writing)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 과학 글쓰기를 통해 고등학생의 지구 시스템에 대한 이해와 시스템 사고 과정을 분석하는 것이다. 글쓰기 활동에 활용한 자료는 지구과학 I 교과 내용 중 지구환경 변화에 관련된 3가지 주제(지구 온난화, 화산분출, 사막화)이며 이와 관련된 과제를 개발하였다. 개발한 자료는 고등학교 2학년 학생 8명을 대상으로 투입하였으며 작성한 과학 글쓰기 내용을 바탕으로 DAET-C 체크리스트와 지구 시스템에 관련된 개념을 구성요소로 하여 인과지도를 작성한 후, 이를 근거로 하여 시스템 사고의 관점에서 분석하였다. 그 결과로 첫째, 학생들은 지구 시스템의 구성, 지구 시스템의 상호작용, 지구과학적 소양, 시스템 순으로 지구 시스템을 이해하는 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 학생들의 과학 글쓰기 내용을 바탕으로 각각의 주제별로 인과지도를 작성한 결과 피드백 순환 고리가 나타난 학생은 연구에 참여한 8명 중 지구 온난화 관련 주제에서는 4명, 화산 분출 관련 주제에서는 1명, 사막화 관련 주제에서는 4명의 학생이 지구 시스템에서 하위 요소 간의 상호작용을 고려하는 시스템 사고를 하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 결론적으로 연구에 참여한 학생들은 지구환경 변화가 지구계 하위 요소 사이의 상호작용을 통해 복잡한 과정 속에서 복합적으로 이루어지고 있다는 사고를 하고 있었으나, 지구 시스템의 순환에 대한 과정에서 시스템 사고는 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 과학 글쓰기 활동을 활용하여 지구 시스템 교육과 시스템 사고를 향상 시킬 수 있는 다양한 연구가 필요할 것이다.

  • An Independent Administrative Corporation Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) is developing light-and-small Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV)$^{1)}$, named 'MR-X1' (Marine Robot Experimental 1), which can cruise, investigate and observe by itself without human's help. In this paper, we consider the motion control problem of 'MR-X1' and derive a controller. Since the dynamic property of 'MR-X1' is changed by the influence of the speed, the mathematical model of 'MR-X1' becomes the nonlinear model. In order to design a controller for 'MR-X1', we generally apply nonlinear control theories or linear control theories with some constant speed situation. If we design a controller by applying Linear Quadratic (LQ) optimal control theory, the obtained controller only compensates t e optimality at the designed speed situation, and does not compensate the stability at another speed situations. This paper proposes a controller design method using Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs)$^{2),3),4)}$, which can adapt the speed variation of 'MR-X1'. And examples of numerical analysis using our designed controller are shown.

토픽모델링을 이용한 국내 미세먼지 연구 분류 및 연구동향 분석 (A Study on the Research Topics and Trends in South Korea: Focusing on Particulate Matter)

  • 전 세계적으로 미세먼지(particulate matter, PM)와 사망률 및 유병률 증가의 관련성이 보고되면서 다양한 연구가 수행되었으며, 우리나라에서는 1990년대 후반을 기점으로 PM에 대한 중요성을 인식하고, PM에 대한 다양한 연구가 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 '미세먼지' 관련 연구들의 주제를 분류하고, 각 주제별 연구 동향을 확인하기 위해 Research Information Sharing Service (RISS)에 게재된 미세먼지 관련 2,764편의 논문을 대상으로 Latent Dirichlet Allocate (LDA) 분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 총 10개의 주제로 분류하는 것이 가장 적합하였으며, 미세먼지 관련 연구주제는 '미세먼지 저감(Topic 1)', '정부 정책 및 관리(Topic 2)', '미세먼지 특성(Topic 3)', '미세먼지 모델(Topic 4)', '환경교육(Topic 5)', '바이오(Topic 6)', '교통수단(Topic 7)', '황사(Topic 8)', '실내 미세먼지 오염(Topic 9)', '인체 위해성(Topic 10)'의 주제로 분류할 수 있었다. 특히, '정부 정책 및 관리(Topic 2)', '미세먼지 모델(Topic 4)', '환경교육(Topic 5)'. '바이오(Topic 6)' 관련 연구주제들이 시간에 따라 전체 논문에 대한 비율이 증가하는 추세를 보여 성행하는 것을 확인하였다(linear slope>0). 본 연구의 결과는 미세먼지 관련 다양한 분야의 연구자들에게 새로운 문헌 고찰의 방법론을 제시하고, 미세먼지 분야의 역사와 발전에 대한 이해를 제공했음에 의의가 있다.
