This paper describes a message model based on XML (eXtensible Markup Language) to present real-time data from sensors and instruments at manufacturing processes for web service. HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is inadequate for describing real-time data from process control plants while it is suitable for displaying non-real-time multimedia data on web. For XML-based web service of process data, XML format for the data presentation was proposed after investigating data of various instruments at steel-making plants. Considering transmission delay inevitably caused from increased message length and processing delay from transformation of raw data into defined format, which was critical for operation of a real-time system, its performance was evaluated by simulation. In the simulation, we assumed two implementation models for conducting the transformation function. In one model, transformation was done at an SCC (Supervisory Control Computer) after receiving real-time data from instruments. In the other model, transformation had been carried out at instruments before the data were transmitted to the SCC. Various tests had been conducted under different conditions of offered loads and data lengths and their results were described.

컴퓨터를 이용한 전자문서처리에 이용되는 기존의 문서편집 시스템에서는 비구조적인 문서구조를 다루게 됨으로써 시스템 내에서 사용되는 수학식의 표현은 이미지나 텍스트 등의 비구조적인 방법에 의해 표현되거나 처리된다. 이렇게 사용된 수학식은 문서의 가독성과 재사용성 그리고 문서의 처리와 교환에 상대적인 불편을 초래하게 된다. 그러므로 이러한 단점을 극복하고 효율적으로 구조적인 문서상에 MathML(Mathematical Markup Language) 수식 구조를 적용시킬 수 있는 문서편집 시스템이 요구된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 MathML을 기반으로 한 수학식의 표현을 구조적으로 처리할 수 있는 MathML 수식 편집이 가능한 XML(eXtensible Markup Language) 기반의 구조적 문서생성을 위한 문서 편집 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

The local public organizations, to secure the Confidentiality, Integrity, Authentication and Non-Repudiation of cyber administrative environment is giving it a try to consolidate the official documents among them by standardizing all the documents into XML formats together with the establishment of the GPKI(Government Public Key Infrastructure). The Authentication System based on the PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) used by the GPKI, however, provides only the simple User Authentication and thus it results in the difficulty in managing the position, task, role information of various users required under the applied task environment of public organizations. It also has a limitation of not supporting the detailed access control with respect to the XML-based public documents.In order to solve these issues, this study has analyzed the security problems of Authentication and access control system used by the public organizations and has drawn the means of troubleshoot based on the analysis results through the scenario and most importantly it suggests the access control model applied with PMI and SAML and XACML to solve the located problem.

We propose a message-based communication protocol for software agents. An emphasis is placed on the problems of sharing and exchanging information through agent communication. We adopt the Resource Description Framework (RDF) schema for information modelling in business domain. The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) serialization is used to generate messages for agent communication. The use of XML and RDF enables software agents to understand the contents of messages correctly and consistently. We believe that the approach can provide a promising way to the automation of business processes through seamless communication among the partners.

XML is suitable to integrate various forms of engineering design data since it possesses the characteristics of both documents and data. In this research a web-based design system has been developed, which integrates various gear design data in the form of XML. The system generates XML document containing gear design data and transforms gear design data in the relational database into XML document form automatically. The XML documents are transmitted to gear modeler agent through SOAP, and then the agent is automatically executed and generates CAD model files and VRML files. The designer can check the generated VRML model of gear immediately in the web service.

IEC 61850 파트 6에는 변전소 구성 언어(SCL, Substation Configuration description Language)를 제시하고 있다. SCL은 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)을 기반으로 한 언어로서, 변전소 엔지니어링에 필요한 정보들을 제공한다. SCL 파일을 생성해주는 해외의 몇몇 제품이 개발되어 있으나, 사용자가 SCL 파일을 직접 확인해 봐야 할 때 보기 쉽게 분석해 주는 툴은 아직 없다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 SCL 파일을 보다 쉽게 확인할 수 있는 툴의 프로토타입을 구현하고 이를 소개한다.

최근 들어서 사무자동화 시스템(Office Information System), 디지털 도서관(Digital Library), WWW(WorldWideWeb)등의 응용에서는 대량의 문서들의 정보를 효율적으로 저장하고 처리, 검색할 수 있는 기능을 요구하고 있다. 이에 대해 최근에 인터넷 기반의 무서 표준인 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)이 제시되었고, 이러한 XML 문서를 저장하고 처리, 검색하기 위한 다양한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 대부분의 연구들은 XML 문서의 구조적 정보만을 저장하고 검색하도록 설계되어 지고 있으며, XML 문서가 지닌 또 다른 정보인 링크 정보를 저장하고 검색하는 기능을 제공되지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 파서나 브라우저 수준에서 제공해 주는 링크의 브라우징을 확장하여 데이터베이스로 수많은 XML문서의 링크 정부들을 저장하고 저장된 링크 정보들에 대해 사용자들이 검색할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위해 링크 정보를 지워할 수 있는 XML 문서에 대한 데이터 모델을 제시하고 이러한 데이터 모델로 지원할 수 있는 질의어들을 설계하였다.

XML(eXtensible Markup Language) 프로그램이나 XML을 이용한 B2B 시스템 구축과 같은 XML 프로젝트에서는 객체 지향적 설계언어인 UML을 이용해 개발하면 효율을 높일 수 있다. UHL(Unified Modeling Language)로 XML문서 구조를 표현하는 이유는 XML문서를 생성, 접근, 수정하는 XML프로그램을 체계적이고 효율적으로 설계할 수 있기 때문이다. DTD(Document Type Declaration)와 스키마(Schema)를 UML로 표현함으로써 프로그래밍을 통합적으로 추진 할 수 있다. 이러한 과정에서 XML의 문서 구조정보의 활용 증대와 UML의 확장이라는 이점을 취할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 UIML 기반의 다이어그램에서 XML 문서서로의 변환기에 대한 모델을 제안한다.

컴퓨터를 이용한 인터넷의 급속한 발전에 따라 이를 교육에 응용하려는 노력은 최근 몇 년 동안 지속적으로 진행되어 왔다. 이는 인터넷 이용인구의 급속한 증가로 인하여 웹 상에서의 가상교육 및 원격교육에 관한 필요성이 증대되었고, 이를 실용화하려는 노력은 여러 가지 방법을 통하여 논의되어 왔다. 따라서, 웹 코스웨어는 인터넷을 통한 원거리 학습자들에 대하여 학습욕구를 충족시키기 위한 목적으로 구현 및 개발되었다. 그러나, 이를 이용하려면 사용자의 시스템이 정보를 제공하는 서버와의 정보교환을 위하여 온라인 상태를 유지하였으며, 학습자가 서버에서 갱신되는 학습정보를 받아 보려면 온라인 상에서 학습자의 시스템이 서버로 접속이 이루어져야만 확인이 가능하였다. 본 논문은 이에 관하여 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)을 기반으로 한 웹 캐스팅 기법으로 웹 코스웨어를 구현하였으며 이를 위하여 CDF(Channel Definition Format) 형식을 이용하였다. 즉, 채널을 용하여 학습자가 자율적으로 채널을 선택하면, 학습자가 원하는 정보를 자동적으로 갱신되도록 하였다. 또한, 기존의 웹 코스웨어는 정보를 제공하는 서버의 학습내용이 변화될 때다 일일이 확인을 하여야 하는 반면 본 논문에서는 갱신되어진 내용을 학습자에게 자동적으로 업데이트되도록 하였다.

내용기반 이미지 검색을 하기 위해서는 이미지에 대한 메타데이타(metadata)가 필요하며, 이러한 메타데이타 간에는 상호연관성이 존재한다. XML(eXtensible Markup Language)은 메타데이타의 상호연관성을 표현하기에 적절하므로 본 논문에서는 이미지 메타데이타를 구조화하기 위한 방법으로 XML을 사용하였다. 또한 이미지는 객체의 시간적인 특징과 함께 이미지 전체가 내포하는 서술적인 의미도 갖는다. 이러한 이미지의 특성에 따라 메타데이타도 객체의 시각적 특징을 중심으로 한 구조 설계와 의미 중심의 구조 설계로 구분하여 XML 구조를 모델링 하였다. 마지막으로 구조화된 모델들 간의 객체 지향 특성을 이용하여 XML DBMS에 통합하고, 이를 XQL(XML Query Language)에 의하여 질의 해 냄으로서 검색 구간에 제약을 가하고 이를 통하여 더욱 효과적인 검색을 지원하도록 한다.
